Dash Wiring problems of the 1999 Chevrolet Suburban

Four problems related to dash wiring have been reported for the 1999 Chevrolet Suburban. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Dash Wiring problem

Failure Date: 05/12/2005

I purchased a 1999 chevy Suburban in 2004. While leaving my driveway im may of 2005 I smelled something burning. I looked down and the mirror control switch was on fire. I was able to pull the panel off the door and get the switch out. It melted the switch and the wire harness inside the door. I'm just glad my wife wasn't driving.

2 Dash Wiring problem

Failure Date: 08/20/2001

Vehicle stalls/electrical resets when engaging reverse or drive regardless if vehicle is cold or hot.

3 Dash Wiring problem

Failure Date: 09/18/1999

Instruments on the dash board have failed to work properly. Dealership examined vehicle, and could not remedy problem. Consumer states the tires put on the vehicle, kelly springfield, p235/70r15, dot number pjm1dekr268, were too small for the Suburban.

4 Dash Wiring problem

Failure Date: 07/08/1999

Vehicle has had several major component failures since time of purchase, the electrical system failed whereas it left us stranded twice with a no start condition, then the brakes started to excessively squeek and pull, then the brake wore out prematurely, then the vehicle started to pull to the right excessively and drift, eventually pulling to the right when brakes applied, then the power steering system had gone out while driving, it has been outrageous that these problems are occurring on a new vehicle.
