Nine problems related to front driver side air bag inflator have been reported for the 2007 Chevrolet Suburban. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
"takata recall" once again I have attempted to schedule service to have the airbag inflators repaired or replaced as instructed by the recall notice. I have now been told that Chevrolet has no remedy available for the recall and are currently waiting for analysis by the NHTSA of Chevrolets independent testing which indicates the recall is not necessary. Chevrolet states the vehicle is safe to operate. I guess the proof will be seen if the airbag deploys in an accident.
I believe my passenger side air bag may have done something because the dash next to the air bag area has been cracked. Dealer says there is no fix; but every other car company has found the fix; replace the inflator. This dash crack happened over night while parked in my garage.
Takata inflators - received notification by mail from tk holdings, inc. That the recall is still outstanding and that I should notify manufacture to receive repairs. Call service representative at koons GMC/Chevrolet and he informed me that the recall is still pending within gm and that nothing can be done at this time. Seems that the owners of these vehicles are being jerked around at the expense of the airbag inflator and the car or truck manufacture. Meanwhile, our lives could be at stake if we get into an accident and the airbags are inflated. Sorry state of affairs to us, the owners of these vehicles. This incident didn't happen yet, but I just wanted to state it before I get into and accident and I can't create this incident report after the fact because I'm died!.
Contacted dealer in 2016 about takata recall. Told me the parts were not available. Contacted dealer in oct 2017 again, told the parts were still not available. I believe the general motors has had sufficient time to acquire replacement air bag inflator and that they are deliberately stalling hoping the problem will simple go away. I need my truck fixed so that my wife can ride with me on trips.
Takata inflators . . . Still no repair info. Also, as noted in many other complaints, my passenger side airbag/dash cover has a huge crack all the way across. Needs to be fixed. Also - we have electrical issue after electrical issue. When will they address these issues?.
Was advised of recall on defective air bag inflator and when I called they said that since no one had been killed in a Chevrolet Suburban, that my car was safe to drive. When I noted that the other vehicles in which folks were injured or died were deamed safe to drive until they killed someone, the simply repeated the statement that my vehicle was safe to drive.
Takata inflators. I have a recall notice. I have repeatedly contacted the local Chevrolet dealer park Chevrolet kernersville nc 336-310-0876 as to the status. They will not give me a answer as to when repair parts will be available. Going on 2 years since the recall.
Takata recall. The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Suburban 1500. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 16v381000 (air bags) for the frontal passenger air bag inflator; however, the parts to do the repair were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact called the local dealer (huffines Chevrolet plano located on , 1001 coit rd, plano, TX, 75093). The manufacturer was notified of the issue, but did not offer any assistance. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
