I did a safety recall repair at the GMC Chevrolet dealer in bloomington, mn per the notice I recieved regarding the front airbag (takata) (I believe the repair was in October 2022). I did not have a error code before doing the work but since I was traveling thought it best to do before I left. I now have a service airbag for the driver side which has now come on. I spoke to one dealer in another state (I was traveling) and he said that had nothing to do with the recall work that was done and wanted me to come in for a estimate for a possible repair??? can you please assist me?.
When scheduling for airbag recall repair the dealership has informed me that the service may cause the dash to crack or fall in during or after the install. They also advised me that this damage is not covered under the recall warranty. If the dash is not intact that will result in the airbag not being able to properly deploy.
Driving down the beltway at 60 mph and the side curtain airbags deployed with no impact and the seatbelts in the front locked up.

I called my local glen smith chevy dealer to get my air bag repaired after receiving notice in the mail that they had them. They told me they didn't have them and didn't know when they would be available. I called the chevy consumer number and got the same answer. This is the same run around ive been getting for several years while I'm driving a car that could potentially hurt or kill the passenger in the car. . . . Why did this get sent out if thisdealers wont repair them?.

Took a left turn while driving, heard a small noise and with in one minute of going down the road after my turn, my engine was a rough idle, engine light blinking and traction control was blinking. Had it towed to the closest chevy dealership to find out that the lifters were bad and causing misfire. That's a common problem for this engine and the replacement cost should not be on the consumer, there should be a recall for this costly repair!.

I purchased new and am the only owner of a 2007 Chevrolet Suburban. This model is equipped with a takata airbag that the manufacturer (takata) has deemed unsafe, especially where I live, in hot and humid louisiana. I have been to the local dealership multiple times to ask if a remedy is available and the dealership has said each time that a fix is not available. Why do some manufacturers recognize and fix the issue while others ignore the issue. If I am not mistaken, other manufacturers ask owners not to drive. I am concerned about safety. Any assistance is appreciated.

When I became aware my vehicle was subject to the recall I contact mark christopher Chevrolet. I was told they were not completing replacements as general motors does not have a supplier for the airbags. That they had a supplier but that particular supplier went out of business and they (general motors) would send out a notice when they get a supplier for the airbag.
Tanaka recal, on board couputer notified me that air bag needs service, local mecanic checked and said it needs replacing. Clled chevy dealer and they informed me that they cannot do the replacement because the tanaka recall was not fully funded etc and hung up on be.

The vehicle has a cracked dash, on the drivers side, above the instrument cluster and a crack just above the airbag. My concern is that this has been an ongoing issue over multiple gm vehicles and if there is an impact and the airbag deploys there will be shards of the dash flying throughout the vehicle.
I keep hearing that my airbag has been recalled, but nobody has a solution for it. I cannot endanger my family every time we ride in this car.
