Five problems related to brake disc have been reported for the 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Consumer replaced twice brake pads caused by the rotors which went bad, causing loss of rear brakes. Dealer has been notified.
Brakes on right passenger's side keeps wearing down metal to metal. Had replaced 5 times. Dealer contacted.
Brakes failed at 19,443 miles. Both pads and right rotor needed replacement. Dealership will not stand behind warranty even though there are service bulletins out on both the brakes and rotors.
Warping of front discs/rear drums and premature wear of pads/shoes @ 15k miles. Dealership aware that there is an issue but not covered under warranty except unwritten 12/12. Had rotors and drums turned and new pads installed. Problem has been corrected and will hopefully last.
Dealer gave consumer front & back brakes all the around & they were just changed. Brakes were always purcahsed from dealer (delco). Brake drums pads & rotors were changed. Dealer was saying it was normal wear. Last time they were changed was in August.
