*takata recall* I have been noticing a lot of different issues with my 2017 Tahoe premier. The engine block is a deep rust color. Engine is extremely hot even hours later after parking. There is a thick black sludge that is on nearly every part under the truck. I started hearing a ticking noise that sped up as my driving speed increases. This issue occurs often but not daily. As well as when turning into my driveway it makes a high pitched popping noise ( the sound is similar to a small rock being flung onto the aluminum wheel) I also hear grinding noises when making a sharp turn. Metal against metal is as best as I can describe it. I decided to look under the hood and checked the oil level and it appears fine. I don't know how to check other levels aside from the windshield fluid so I will be forced to have it towed to the dealership. While I was under my truck I noticed how there was a lot of rusted parts. The (if I am correct) exhaust housing looked nearly burned and the product sticker that is on there is 100% bites. As if someone put a lighter to it. Not sure what all the gunk is that is caked on everything below the truck but it can't be a good thing for sure. Also, I found a bolt wedged between an area. Why is there a bolt and where did it come from? does this mean I have missing parts on my engine or anywhere else? my truck runs so hot but no lights have come on. This evening after seeing what I did made me fear the thought of driving my truck that I pay a hefty payment on. It has 12,000 miles on it. I've had it one year and aways get my services done on time with oil changes and so forth. I shouldn't be having this issue or better yet issues. Who's going to fix this problem. And ho long before someone recalls my truck for this issue !?.

Tapping noise in lifters developed at five days ago. Vehicle mileage is 58,000 miles. Chevy dealer informed us the repair would be $4,000-$5000. We have complete maintenance and repair records on the vehicle and purchased it new in November 2007. We are the only owners.
Cylinder 1,3,5,7 in engine has misfires, this enging has the afm and tjevv4/v8 mode is wearing out the engines and causing them to fail. My engine has had the valve lifters fail. My engine now has a tapping sound, and after taking to garage they have informed me this is an ongping issue with this year of Tahoe and problem is very common and they said it is s bad design. I was driving 70mph on the highway when cylinders 13,5,7 started misfiring, car went from 70mph to less then 40 mph and started shaking and studderring, aslnost got tearended on the highway because of this. After garage inspected vehicle they have determined the valve lifters, cam shaft are bad in the engine and have cause the traction control and stabiltrack errors in my Tahoe. So now I have to get the engine rebuilt because of gm bad active fuel management design,(afm) I have been complaining of the issue since my Tahoe had been using a quart of oil every oil change.

Engine has very loud valve type tapping noise at idle and in gear. Engine light is on and engine is burning excessive engine oil between oil changes.
I purchased a 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe last year from walker Chevrolet. The vehicle has 16,000 miles. Issues I have with the vehicle. Current dealership is jim ellis Chevrolet. 1. Transmission jerks when shifting. 2. Transmission will shift into first gear when hill assist is activated. 3. Navigation goes blank. 4. Volume button quits working and volume turns all the way up. 5. Tahoe squeaks from v8 to v4. 6. Loud metal popping noise when taking sharp left turns. 7. Navigation assistant will not mute. 8. Navigation will not shut off when the car is off and doors are locked. 9. Suspension makes awful noises when going over speed bumps and flexing. 10. Tahoe has a very rough idle in first gear. My primary concern is the safety of the vehicle. My wife almost wrecked the Tahoe after the volume would not turn down from being stuck at the highest volume level. A tractor trailer almost rear-ended us after the hill assist activated and the gear went into to first. I went to jim ellis and told them specifically about these problems and I was told there was nothing wrong with the transmission because they can't reproduce the issue. I do not want my family's life in danger just because the issue cannot be reproduced with the transmission. I was also told the suspension and steering was fixed, but I immediately noticed the issue pulling out of the dealership. This is another safety concern. I was told the navigation was fixed, but the navigation and volume problems are happening more often the longer I drive the vehicle. Yet another safety concern. I called gm customer support and contacted the dealership.
