We were driving our 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe (purchased Dec 2020; odometer currently right under 40,000 miles) out of town this past weekend and I noticed the headlights were not illuminating the road ahead very well once the sun went down. They seemed like they were pointed down and when I turned on the high beams, those were also lower than how the low beams are usually pointed. We were stuck in the middle of nowhere and I persevered with low lighting onto our destination. After researching the issue on the internet days later, I found a Tahoe owners' forum/thread [xxx] ) where several other 2021 Tahoe owners had experienced the exact same issue as ours had. The culprit appears to be a sub-component of the headlight adjuster mechanism, but gm/Chevrolet does not offer a replacement for either this small white plastic piece that is failing and the only repair option they have for this issue is complete replacement of the entire headlamp assembly ($1,350 msrp). This is a dangerous problem that occurred randomly on a vehicle with low mileage and appears to potentially be a common failure for other owners of the same headlamp design. I have not taken this vehicle into the dealership for inspection, as I expect they will only replace the entire headlamp assembly for $$$$. The 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe seems to be known for thermostat failure. My thermostat gauge while driving would drop from 210 to 160 and stay pinned on 160 and the fans would turn on. I was told by an auto body shop that it seemed to be electric issues. I also had a wire under the car catch fire and the auto body shop said that is why my standing lights would not work in the rear but my brake lights would work. It’s very dangerous that the electrical failure caused a fire to start under the car. Then, I ran into another issue just this week where the vehicle has a cracked ac condenser and is slowly losing coolant. It’s a manufacturing issue because all of them seem to crack and we’re not made with a proper seal. Another electrical issue I have is when I turn the wheel all the way to the left or right, even when the key is in and engine is on, the engine will shut off. The car completely shuts off and then I have to turn the key to the off position and then it will turn right back on. The steering wheel is also losing power steering and gets very tight when I have to make a turn. The fuses for my radio are blown and when you put new ones in, it blows immediately and doesn’t turn on. I have many issues with this vehicle and it’s obviously a manufacturer issue. This is not ok for a vehicle to all around have such horrible electrical issues. I have had issues driving over a pothole and I lose my radio screen or my whole dash screen and then the dealer and auto body shops say the electrical work is too in depth for them.

The headlight adjustment screws fail causing the projector adjustment to bottom out leaving limited visibility when driving in the dark. The headlights then do not raise back up any longer.

I'm 71 so not much night driving. The other night I left a meeting when I turned on headlights one is pointing down. Difficult to see and hard to stay between the lines. My vehicle has never ben in an accident nor had lights repaired. Checking online I see this is a problem for many Tahoe, suburban and yukon owners and perhaps even pickup trucks. In my opinion this represents a serious safety concern.

When we first purchased our 2023 Tahoe the engine was making a tiking noise we took it back and they told us it was because it was brand new time past engine always needs oil when we drive it u have to press gas pedal it also has electrical problems back camera turns on and off . Brake sensors don’t work . I almost had a bad car accident due to the engine that it had stop because it said reduced power while I was on a highway . I lost my son 3 yrs ago in a car wreck . I don’t want no more accidents so please help me figure some out with my Tahoe . I also went to dealership and they directed me to a manager . Manager never help never called back or nothing we bought truck at friendly Chevrolet.

While driving at night in the rain. The front windshield wipers paused in an upright position for 3-5 seconds and all exterior illumination/lighting went out. They all came back momentarily.

I've had my 2023 Tahoe for 15 months, purchased Dec. 2023 issue #1. Dash message on start up " restraint system needs service". I noticed small lights overhead (buttons for tail gate, sun roof, reading lamps) were off. I pressed some of them, and dash message went away, and lights came on. Everything worked fine. I've narrowed it down to the passenger side reading light. When dash warning comes on, I press reading light, and whalla! all works fine. This has happened about 6 times over the last year. Issue #2. After driving many hours (9 hr drive, then a 2hr drive, then 4hr hr drive on different days/nights) in rain with wipers in auto mode, using defrost on and off as needed. Suddenly, wipers stop working as well as headlights in auto mode! scary. Pulled over and waited with engine off. Restarted and still nothing. I was able to use headlights in full on mode. I turned the wiper switch all the way from top-pulse to the full-on 4-6 times really quick back and forth, and like magic, everything worked again! this has happened 3 times in the last 2 months (always during several hours of rainy weather driving). Dealer says they can't fix what they can't witness. I suppose my only recourse is to video tape it and then show dealership.

Drivers side headlight is stuck pointing down making it hard to see in the dark. Vehicle is a marked police patrol vehicle.

My issue with the vehicle is that the reverse lights do not project enough and when backing up at night you can not see it or even with the back up camera. It’s poor placement of the light and does not provide adequate light when backing up. I have not had any incidents with it but I feel like it is a huge potential problem.

At 13,540 miles, the drivers headlight started pointing to the ground instead of out front of the car. The headlight adjuster screw (inside the complete headlight assembly) had failed and was replaced under warranty. Then again at 35,250 mile the same thing happened again. Dealer claims gm will not do a goodwill warranty and wants $350-400 to take the headlight assembly off he car and send pictures to gm to see if gm will assist with replacement costs. Obviously this is a manufacturing defect or quality control issue. As 90% of my driving is done at night, it is unsafe for me to drive this vehicle at night.

I have not had a wreck but the fact that when you press the brake pedal the dome lights blink and when you turn on the left turn signal, the dome lights blink. If you hold down the brake like if you’re at a traffic light the dome lights blink continuously until you let off the brake. Now, during the day, that’s no big problem but at night it poses a serious safety risk. A bright light in your eyes while driving is blinding and a sudden bright light in the pitch black dark could lead to an accident. I called the dealer to ask about it and was told yeah, they knew about it and it would cost me like $550 to repair even though it was a defect that they readily acknowledge.

The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that the vehicle was initially taken to the dealer for manufacturer recall notice received NHTSA campaign number 22v903000 (exterior lighting) however, the contact then stated that while driving at night at an undisclosed speed, the headlights displayed deemed without warning. As a result, the contact safely drove the vehicle to her destination. The contact was concerned for her safety. The dealer was notified of the failure and the contact was advised to bring the vehicle back to the dealer for further diagnoses that would require the vehicle to remain. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 9,800.

Overhead roof console inoperative/service safety/ restrain system/ sunroof inoperative/ dome lights inoperative/ dtcs b1a7a and u1121.

On several occasions at various speeds, both driving straight and turning, my 2015 chevy Tahoe has turned off. During higher speeds the SUV will turn back on, instantly, by itself but during lower speeds and turning the car has to be manual turned back on by switching into neutral, pressing the break, and pushing the start button. The most recent time this has happened, it was dark outside and I was turning. I lost everything including my head and tail lights so it was hard for oncoming traffic to see me. I also almost hit someone coming in the other lane because I was unable to fully turn due to the loss of power steering. After this happens, I get many warning/action required messages across the dashboard but no check engine light or code have come up. I will be taking it to the dealer but since it does not happen every time the care is driven, I can only hope they can experience what happens.

The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that the service safety restraint system warning light illuminated, causing the air bag warning light to remain illuminated. The contact stated that the liftgate failed to unlatch and open as needed. The contact was able to manually unlock the vehicle. Additionally, the dome light was malfunctioning. The contact stated that the sunroof failed to open as needed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the contact was informed that the air bags might fail to deploy as needed in the event of a crash. The contact was informed that the sunroof, liftgate and lights needed to be repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 13,000.

Dome lights keep flickering. Not specific to any light. All of them flash sporadically. Looks like a camera flash at night. It is beyond distracting at night and the dealership could not find what is causing it to happen. It is making driving at night dangerous because it is distracting because it can sometimes flash non stop like a strobe light.

The first problem was the cluster , it completely went off . I took it to a mechanic he said he fixed it . It works for one day then completely shut off again, I can not see what gear I am in , any alert that I need to see for warning and saftey completely off in the cluster . . Shortly after the first issue I noticed 2 cracks on my dashboard ,on both driver and passenger side of the vehicle . I had not put a lot of thought into that as it didn’t seem like a safety concern up until I’ve read several post of others with same issue . ( I’m guessing a fire should be expected anytime because of others stories I have read off here the cracks have lead to fires ) another issue is I have to add quart oil to my Tahoe atleast every 2 -3 weeks . I’ve taken it to have that fixed and each time was told there is no leak . I get the works done each oil change and still have to add oil 2 weeks after a new air filter oil etc . . A major issue that could have been a major wreck was while driving down a highway around 11 pm . . My car started flickering lights inside and outside of my Tahoe and it started making a loud click sound saying system is shutting down ,my steering wheel locked up and all power to vehicle completely shut down . Period . No power to anything at all what so ever . The battery was fairly new . Well we had it towed back to town for a mechanic to look at the next day … he replaced the alternator and checked everything . Said he couldn’t see anythjng and told me I should sale it right away he warned me of a lot of issues he keeps seeing with Tahoe . Well now my driver door will not open at all I have to crawl through the passenger side door to get in and out of my car . With all these serious issues still going on I m very scared to be in my car , not getting my alerts and being trapped inside . Please someone point me in the right direction I have 5 kids this is not safe !.

Recall #09v154000 should have been performed on my vehicle according to the list of VIN #'s affected, but it never was and I was never notified of the recall. I purchased this vehicle the month before this recall was announced in 2009 and did not start having safety issues until after my new SUV warranty had expired (how convenient). Over the years, I have spent thousands of dollars replacing all kinds of sensors, relays, batteries and various other parts trying to alleviate the unsafe electrical and loss of power issues that this faulty part continues to cause. I have taken this vehicle to my local dealership on countless occasions, complaining that the vehicle intermittently: does not start, the engine suddenly dies while driving on the highway or turning a corner (becoming unsteerable and the brakes won't work), suddenly decelerates, door locks cycle rapidly while driving, the check engine light and other warning lights/alarms come on, headlights and dash lights suddenly shut off, windows or ac stops working, and now the fuel gauge only reads 1/4 tank when I just filled it up. I took the SUV to my local dealer again today, explained the intermittent electrical and loss of power issues and history again and asked why this recall had not been performed or was not scheduled to be performed at any previous time that I had brought the vehicle in for diagnostics or service on these related issues. The service manager admitted that the recall had never been performed, but denied the possibility of the fscm causing any of these issues, regardless of the recall notice stating they were. He then refused to perform the recall and said I needed to pay $380 to have another diagnostic scan performed. Never scheduling/performing the recall when the SUV was serviced countless times for related safety issues as defined in the recall notice that they never mailed to me and refusing to perform the recall today is a violation of the us ntmv safety act and should have consequences!.

Driver side high beam light went out so bulb was changed. A couple weeks later light went back out again. Thought it was a defect bulb purchased another and changed it again. Now it goes in and out. The driver window will not let down when the high beam light is working.

I was turning left from the freeway feeder light that was already green upon approach. Assk I passed the intersection, I colided from on directly at the front passenger side, impacting the rear driver side of a smaller vw atals. My vehicle spun out of control stopping at the opposite side of the intersection at the median. My airbags never deployed. The other car involved we hit at the rear driver side and all his airbags deployed. I hit my chin, head, and arms and feel naseau since the accident. Airbags should have deployed to prevent my head from hitting various parts of the car or worse brain shaking. My car sustained frame damage and extensive front damage.

Braking systems not working properly. The vehicle failed to stop when applying the brake pedal. All brake pads are good; brake calipers are new; brake fluid is at max. I replaced everything I found online, but the issue is there on the vehicle. Dome light issue: the interior dome lights on the vehicle flashes constantly while driving.

The electrical software isn't functioning properly. The radio, onstar, the door/seat belt chimes don't work. None of the electrical works in the vehicle. I was driving and when I pressed on the brake and turning, the dome lights start to flicker making it difficult to see other cars at night. The back doors don't always lock when locking them.

The low beam bulb on both sides of the vehicle keep going out. I have replaced each bulb at least 3 times. There is no moisture in the headlight and I don't see any electrical shorting on the harness. Malfunctioning headlights are a huge safety concern for my family and every other vehicle on the road. Also, my wife has gotten pulled over several times because of this. Almost every chevy SUV and truck of the same year I see on the road have headlights out as well. Vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer. The headlights started failing about two years ago.

I have an airbag failure on my dashboard, the airbags are not working. On Saturday 11/21/2020 the driver side door kept saying door was open when it was entirely closed. Later on that morning, the passenger seat had cold ac while the rest of the car was throwing hot air on it's own. Because the car kept saying the passenger door was open, inside lights did not turned on. Replaced the door module and issue not fixed. Battery drains at least twice a day. Had to replace the engine oil pressure sensor multiple times and it still goes off randomly while driving and fix itself. This car it's used only to drive less than 10 miles per week. It is so annoying wiht this issue just to get it out and back home. I replaced the battery, alternator, oil pressure sensor, pasanger door sensor, ac filters all this in less than 1 year and it's one thing after another. Very disappointed.

My Tahoe showed stabilitrak issues when I first bought it a year ago. I received a recall notice and took it into the nearest dealer. It was ok for awhile but the same problem started again a month ago. The truck turns on and off for about 1 second as I'm pulling into a parking space. However, now I've had issues when I try to lock it with the fob; it does nothing. I have been stranded at a business because it won't turn back on and I have to wait awhile and try to crank it. It comes back on but this has happened to me more than 3 times. Now, I was driving to work and as I pulled into my work garage, everything turned off completely and this time nothing came back on. I had to quickly turn the ignition key to the off position, thankfully I had my foot on the brake and I had to turn it back on again. I was worried because this is in the downtown area and this is a very busy city street in the morning hours. I was lucky it turned back on at all. Another time, I could not start my truck when I got off of work and I was stuck on the 3rd floor of my parking garage. I am concerned that I'll be driving and all of a sudden this Tahoe will shut off while I'm in traffic. I have to travel 3 freeways to get to work and back home during heavy traffic, I'm worried about my safety and others as well because since this is an issue where the truck turns off completely, I will have no control on getting hit or hitting someone else at a high rate of speed (65 mph).

The vehicle randomly loses or gains power while driving. All of the auto locks go up and down, while the cluster goes in and out with very high rpms and then completely loses power in the middle of the road. Or this happens and the steering gets very tough. It is very dangerous because there are times where it happens on the highway while doing up to 80mph. It also happens when sitting at line to pick up my child in pre-k. If it were to jump and the brakes weren’t hit fast enough it could really cause a horrible and possibly deadly situation. I have done everything that I can on my end with this truck. I recently replaced the battery and replaced the master fuse since reading it was the cause. That lasted for a week. I have read hundreds of owners with the same problems that have went to private owned mechanic shops along with gm certified mechanic shops. They have yet to find an answer to this possibly deadly malfunction. There are posts and websites all over sharing other owners with the same problems and all of their stories end the same. That gm along with any mechanic used has yet to find any results to this. I noticed that the 2015 model has a recall for this problem but doesn’t describe what is being done to fix the actual problem. It has the same engine and setup as far as I can see so I wonder why there isn’t a recall for the 2010. I have two school age children that have to be brought to and picked up from school daily. If you look up this problem online you will find endless stories and questions about the issue at hand. Most people end up spending thousands of dollars trying to fix the problem on new batteries, cables, starters, etc. However, they all end up with the problem being unresolved with all of that unnecessary debt. This is a very serious manner and I feel that it’s only a matter of time before lives are lost over this. I thank you for the opportunity to be heard and pray that a resolution comes sooner than later.

Our dome lights flicker when break is pushed, I've seen many have had this issue,.

On June 4 2020 I had NY front window broken I took it to change the front glass and the cut of the viper alarm I had on the car so the alarm was just turningnon and on I try tonturnit on to see if it would stop and it didnt so I decided to take off the positive cable from the battery to see if taking it off it would stop and it didnt so I put back on and try to start the car and it didnt nothing dead just the lights of the check engine stabilitrak and traction and untilm this date can find wat to do with it I cha ge the fuae box and still dont turn on.

When placed into reverse the backup camera automatically turns on at maximum brightness and cannot be dimmed or over ridden. This causes blinding and inability to see out of the vehicle at night. The brightness is such that you cannot see out of any windows from inside the vehicle. To see outside you must roll down the windows but this eliminates the ability to see what is behind you.

The interior lights flicker whenever the vehicle's brakes or left blinder is used. The flickering causes distraction for the driver and passengers. Flickering hurts eyes, in addition causing headaches and potential for seizures. Flickering occurs when the vehicle is in motion and when the breaks are used and/or the left blinker is turned on. This is especially disruptive with inner city driving.

First off, my dome lights. They flicker on and off every time I hit my breaks or every time I turn my left blinker on. Secondly, my air conditioner! I live in a very hot and humid state. I have already fixed the a/c in my Tahoe once at the beginning of the summer. Now I am having the exact same issue as I was then.

Every time I press the brake or use my directional all the interior lights flash. Its extremely distracting when I drive at night. I did't know I could report this here. I spoke with my dealer last year and he told me it would be very involved to fix since my warranty was up. He said if it doesnt bother you that much it would be better to leave it. :(.

Back up camera has zero viability while backing up during night in dark area with rain condition.

My neighbors' Chevrolet Tahoe has reverse lights that stay on after the doors are locked and the driver is walking away from the car. I have seen young and high-school age children playing behind the car while the reverse lights are lit which caused me to shout and run. If the children, or adults for that matter, can take those reverse lights for granted then there's a potential they can be killed by another car were those lights only light up when they're in reverse. I believe all gm vehicles work this way.
