Gasoline Fuel System Problems of Chevrolet Tahoe - part 2

Driving down interstate truck started to loose speed and died hard to control at 70mph. Had to try and get to the shoulder of road in heavy traffic, very dangerouse this has happened to me 3 times tonight being the 3rd time, this needs to be a recall it puts peoples life in danger!.

The gas guage reads 1/4 full when out of gas. . . Once on highway and once at home. . . Now I fill up at when guage reads 1/2 full. . .

Door handles (interior) chrome plating is peeling back and cutting fingers when you pull on them.

The gas gauge has stopped working properly. It no longer registers the amount of fuel in the car.

A defect in the fuel module does not permit the vehicle to start stranding the owner wherever the module decides to quit. My vehicle has had 2 replaced in the last six months and the current module installed has an intermittent issue that the vehicle will start.

2007 Chevrolet Tahoe shows check engine light and gas gauge goes crazy, bouncing from empty to full and sometimes landing on a random reading. When gas gauge is not functioning properly, vehicle shows low fuel, even after filling up the truck. Sometimes after filling up, the problem "resolves" itself - but other times, the gauge is still unreliable. This is a well-known problem for these vehicles and can be a safety issues should one run out of gas in busy traffic or in an unsafe area.

Fuel gauge is never accurate. Sometimes it takes 15 minutes after driving for fuel to register on gauge. They light usually stays on even when I have gas???.

Tire kept going low. I have had vehicle for 3 months and bought brand new vehicle. Tire is separating. . . Dealership will only replace the one tire where I requested all because all have same data.

Have had my 2007 chevy Tahoe seen by the dealer 5x for a repeat check engine light, since 9/15/07 (purchase date). 1st time they told me it was a loose gas cap. 2nd time - evap leak, replace evap vent selenoid, 3rd - repeat evap leak - loose connection at canister, 4th time - repeat evap leak, replace with "chevy new design vent valve", 5th time - repeat evap leak - replaced gas cap.

While driving, the gas pedal stuck in the down position causing car to sped up. It then slowed down. Upon inspection by mechanic, it was found that a spring on the gas pedal had become dislodged. One end of the spring is straight (like an opened paper clip) the straight part had stuck into the carpet and then slowly eased out. The mechanic was able to recreate the situation. Because of this, my wife was issued a summons which is still pending. E-mails to general motors have gone unanswered.

Bought this truck used in 2007. Since day 1 the fuel gauge has not worked. It shows empty when it's full and full when it's empty. I have had to keep track of mileage to know when to fill up. Mechanic says that it is very costly to fix.

Fuel gauge is defective for about 1 year now.

While driving could smell fuel inside of vehicle. Consumer has to roll down the windows, but smell will still be there. No leak had been found. However, technician said that cause of the smell had been a burning on differential.

When driving the vehicle there is a fuel leakage, and when stopping and taking off, consumer is not getting enough power when driving. Vehicle has been in the shop four times, and the dealer fixed the problem. But the promblem returned.
