The contact's brother owns a 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that while driving 70 mph, the check engine warning light illuminated and the message "reduced engine power" was displayed. Additionally, the vehicle speed reduced to 20 mph. The contact was able to pull to the side of the road. The contact stated that he turned on the hazards lights and continued driving at 20 mph. The contact stated that upon arriving to his residence, he connected an obd reader to the vehicle and read diagnostic code p2138, which indicated an accelerator pedal sensor failure. The contact stated that he replaced the part himself; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that water was leaking inside the vehicle from the roof antenna mounting point, which caused the driver's side fuse box corrosion and electrical failures. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was unknown.

I got into my car at 1pm and found a crack above the instrument panel and another where the airbag should deploy on the dashboard.
The 2009 Tahoe fuel module control board assembly exhibited faulty adhesive and allowed water to enter and create one or more shorts in the fuel module. This prompted a check engine light. The vehicle was taken to a Chevrolet dealership (buckalew Chevrolet, conroe, TX). After checking the VIN, the dealership stated that no active recalls were found and that the fuel module had been exposed to too much water. I was asked if I took the Tahoe "off-roading" or used boat-ramps excessively. I replied that the Tahoe had not been exposed to any form of off-roading or abnormally wet conditions and had not been taken to any boat ramps or bodies of water. I was told the condition was not covered under the drivetrain warranty and therefore required repairs that had to be paid by the vehicle owner. I have since found a gm recall that matches the symptoms and diagnosis exactly (gm recall no. 08411), but after calling the national hotlines listed for Chevrolet and gm (as well as the local dealer), I have been told that my VIN does not match those listed under the recall. The 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe is still experiencing several issues with adhesive failure in areas requiring water seals (fuel module again, cabin leaks, door leaks causing shorts in power windows and power locks in two doors). Despite many attempts, I have been unable to prompt Chevrolet/gm to take any appropriate action in assisting/resolving the issue.
You can not lower the spare tire, under the vehicle, this is a big problem and I am not the only person with this problem, the part that holds the spare tire has a spring loaded lock on it that cannot release because of a bad design off it,their is a video on youtube about it (good information about it) you need to cut the tire down with a cutting torch, this is a bad idea around a gas tank, I can not express how mad I am right now because I can't even think of that many cuss words, and it is going into heart a tack mode, I would love to meet the engineer that designed this, and have him change the tire, first you need a tow truck then a shop with a lift then two mechanics if not three and you then need a transmission jack to put upward pressure on the tire to release the tension of the locking device that holds the tire, after you let the air out of the tire, I can overhaul the engine and the transmission and anything else that need to be done to this or any other car,but this is a big big mistake in design, can you imagine a lady having to change a tire on the side of the road!!! if a mechanic (male or female) cant do it,how can the average consumer, do it? and why hasn't this been a recall,I know why it hasn't because people are forced to pay for it and forget it,well I bought the vehicle without looking for this problem because my wife and daughters and sons have all been properly trained on how to handle this problem, but it can't be done on this vehicle or any other chevy vehicle of this make from what I understand, you can not do this safely,no I don't have a flat tire either I was just explaining to the wife that it may be a little different so I wanted her to see it just incase she had a problem and she would be prepared on how to handle it (wrong) it should take ten or fifteen minutes to do, can't be done, and I can't believe it please contact me.

The dashboard on my 2009 Tahoe has cracked in three different places and two of these cracks are located near the passenger airbag. I have concerns about expanded cracking and ultimately a problem occurring with that airbag.
My mechanic was putting air in the spare tire underneath the vehicle and the cable broke and the tire fell on him. Luckily, he was not injured badly.

The door handle detaches from the door! I have had this happen 3 times now! it costs $170 to repair and it continues to happen. I believe this is a flaw with the vehicle which should be repaired at no cost by the manufacturer.
The contact owns a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe. While driving approximately 10 mph and approaching a stop sign, the contact noticed that front driver side tire was flat. The vehicle was driven to the side of the road. The contact stated that the spare tire mount would not unlock and release the tire. The vehicle was towed to the residence where the contact purposely had to fracture a mechanism in order to detach the spare tire from the cable. The VIN was unavailable. The failure mileage was approximately 81,000.

The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that the dashboard which led to the air bags fractured. The vehicle was inspected by an insurance adjuster who advised her to contact the dealer. The manufacturer was contacted and offered no assistance. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 64,000.
My 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe spare tire cable(s) broke on Sunday, sept 12. I was traveling less than 40mph coming onto an exit, looked in my rear view mirror and suddenly saw a tire that was not there seconds ago. I pulled to the side, backed up and realize my tire was in the middle of the highway belonged to me. Thank god, the person driving the car behind me was able to miss hitting it. Monday, September 13, I called Chevrolet customer service. I asked if there were similar reports of spare tires coming off from underneath vehicles? I was told by jovi no. ¿there were no reports of spare tires coming off (I find that difficult to believe when I see the many stories online). My vehicle is 10 years old, (I've owned for 8) it is in great condition, body looks good and runs well, at that time it had 208k miles. Jovi advised that I take to dealership, have them inspect and based on their findings, Chevrolet will have to decide if they will assist w/ having it repaired. She gave me a "heads up" that it may be due to the age, and mileage of the vehicle and if so, Chevrolet will need to make decision. Royal Chevrolet service personnel informed me "the cables broke". They were unable to tell me the reason why. Jovi contacted the dealership to know their findings she informed me on Thursday, September 16, she was told the tire coming off "could" be due to age, mileage and wear and tear, however the vehicle was in good condition and well maintained per the service department. Jovi said Chevrolet will be unable to assist w/ having it repaired (cost apprx $238 on Monday, I volunteered to pay up to 1. 5 hours of labor fees). I was not happy w/ their decision and requested she receive a "definite answer". Her saying could be was not a definitive of the problem therefore, in my opinion, I felt Chevrolet should assist in the repair cost. Jovi, called the service department again and what do you know? this time, they can say for certain it was due to age, mileage.

I just purchased a used 2007 chevy Tahoe and I have cut my fingers on both door handles. It seems that they used cheap chrome plated handles and it is pealing. It is razor sharp. I am just glad neither my wife or kids got cut. Please research this and see if there are others. Dealer will not replace because the vehicle has over 36,000 miles. This should be fixed! thanks.
I owe a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe. I noticed in July of this year that there is a 2-3 inch crack on the top left corner of the dash on the passenger's side--right on top of where the air bag is! I took the vehicle to the dealer and they said "since it's not a safety issue" general motors said they will not replace the dash! how do they freaking know it's not a safety issue when it's on top of the air bag??? and now there's another crack! this one is just to the left of the driver's side instrument panel on top of the dash! this crack is 6-7 inches long. I take super good care of my vehicles, sun shades, regular conditioning, etc. And since the vehicle is 4 years old, there is no reason (other than crappy workmanship and crappy materials and crappy engineering) to have not one but two cracks on a $50,000 vehicle! so I'm guessing when my air bag fails on my passenger side and when my daughter gets hurt in a wreck because the airbag doesn't properly deploy, then it will be a safety issue because I will be all over general motors. This is not an isolated incident. Check the internet. Hundreds of complaints of the same cracks happening. Gm is aware of the problem and is choosing to do nothing about it. Please look into this issue and help us get this problem resolved.
Chrome plated interior door handle is peeling and cutting fingers.
I am the owner of a 2007 chevy Tahoe. A few months ago I notice a crack in several places on my dashboard. The most visible crack was located next to the passenger airbag. I am afraid that because this crack is next to the airbag it may possible cause the airbag to deploy and cause serious injuries to a passenger or cause me to be involved in an accident.
Interior chrome door handles on 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe pealing/flaking creating sharp edges that are capable of inflicting harm/injury to passengers.
Peeling chrome coating on inside door handles has sharp edges that have cut hand hydraulics on back cargo door already out and I hardly ever use back door.
The chrome plating on the interior door handles has peeled and caused small cuts to my fingers. Checked with dealer and of coarse they are not aware of any other problems like this.
I own a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe. The chrome is peeling from the interior door handles. The chrome is thick and I have cut my fingers while opening the door. The dealership reported they would not replace the items because of mileage, but it had been a common complaint for the 2007 model Tahoe.
5 cracks in vehicle's dash; 2 on driver's side, 3 on passenger side around airbag. Started appearing last fall and gm was notified. Informed by gm, without looking at vehicle, that it was not a manufacturing/product issue and my case was closed. If passenger airbag deploys, the plastic dash will explode into pieces. Dash has yet to be fixed.
There is a crack at the passenger side airbag that appears to be unsafe in head on collision. If you reference Chevrolet forums-tahoe website you will see 45 pages of failures and gm is very selective on whom they will replace or deny.
Car has not been in an accident. Just concerns like so many other gm customers. There is a crack that is at the airbag, on the passenger side, that keeps getting bigger. Concerned that airbag might deploy, or not work at all. Have contacted gm corporate several times telling them about the same issue that other customers are having in this same area. When contacting gm they tell me that they have not heard of this issue, but there are so many customers that have complain online. I was told to take my vehicle to the dealership for further inspection and was told that this could have happen by using armorall, in that case the whole console would be cracked and not in certain places where all other customers are seeing the same exact cracks. Actually the entire console is affected with several cracks. If gm was not aware, how come some of their customers consoles have been changed out by the dealership? more than once. They tell me because of the model and the mileage of my vehicle it would not qualify. This is a material issue plus a safety issue if it affects the stability of an airbag. There are even videos on u tube that shows a visual picture.
The headliner in my new vehicle rattles and it also has some indication of damage near the passenger visor area which obviously occurred during factory (texas) install.
Passenger side underbody rattle-unable to find source. Occurs when car hits bumps and then resonates after.
During the recent high temperature weather we had last week, the molding of the rear hatch separated from the window. The hinge that secures the glass to the hatch tore from the molding which is part of the glass. With this tear in the window molding, the window could separate from the vehicle while it's in motion. I would guess that the trim/seal which the hinge is part of becomes too soft during extreme heat, and makes it soft enough to tear when the window is opened and closed. VIN: 1gnek13zx2j246347 gm claims that this is considered "normal wear and tear".
At freeway speeds the vehicle feels like it is not solidly fastened to the frame.
The consumer tried at least 10-12 car seats and none of them fit in the vehicle without a lot of play in them. The consumer went to the police dept and they could not get the seat to fit properly either.
