The car register empty when I have just filled up the car, and the tired gauge light comes on.
2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer. Consumer writes in regards to defective gas gauge the consumer stated the gas gauge needle always read empty and the low fuel light always stayed on. The sealer informed the consumer there was a defect and a recall had been issued. He was informed part of the repair would be paid by gm and he would be responsible for remaining. The consumer stated he never received any type of recall notice in the mail. The consumer stated he should not have to pay for a part that was recalled.
Vehicle was parked with all doors locked and the vehicle not running. The remote unlock button was engaged and all doors unlocked with the exception of the driver door. The remote unlock was engaged 3 to 4 more times. The door was manually unlocked from passenger's side. When the door was opened, smoke was pouring out of the inside. We poured available liquids down the window slot but smoke was still pouring out. While my spouse went inside the business where we were parked to grab a pitcher of water, I jerked the plastic oval piece around the inside door handle off and saw flames. He returned with the pitcher and we poured the water down the open hole at the door handle and finally managed to extinguish the flames. We drove the vehicle home but none of the door functions worked at all. It is going to cost me approximately $600 to fix this issue. I have been afraid to drive my Trailblazer since that time. Also the fuel gauge quit working about 3 months ago. We finally fixed that issue today. The next issue to repair after the door is the heat/air actuator as the air conditioning no longer comes thru my air conditioning vents. . . Updated 08-27-12 the consumer also stated the fuel gauge stopped working. Updated 08/28/12.
Fuel gauge fluctuation.
The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The contact was driving 30 mph when the fuel gauge provided an erroneous reading of empty. The vehicle was taken to a private mechanic where the mechanic confirmed that the fuel sensor needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure and the current mileages were 56,000.
Living in maine, it's not like there are gas stations on every street corner. I left for work one morning, knowing I had plenty of gas, my surprise approximately half way there, my gas light came on. The gauge was on empty. I was in a panic, I still had about 15 miles to go before I was near a gas station. I finally got to a gas station, and surprise again, it only took about 10 gallons to fill it. I did some research about this problem, there have been over 800,000 complaints on fuel gauge problems on these type vehicles!! come on, times are tough, I can't afford to get this fixed. . Do a recall!!.
After putting in 13 gals of fuel, the gauge goes back & forth from full to empty. The cause the empty light to come on. The gauge goes back to half. This just occurred.
My fuel gauge no longer works. I also have no power anything on my drivers side door.
Fuel gauge drops to empty with low fuel light coming on, no matter how much gas is in vehicle. Sometimes it fluctuates back and forth. Never sure how much gas is in vehicle. Which this creates a big problem since I transport handicap people in my vehicle. Also driver side window operates very slow, sometimes it hesitates on rolling up. I have to let it set for a while, then try rolling it up again. After several times doing this, it has finally rolled up all the way. I think the dealer should fix these problems, without consumer paying for any of it. Especially since these seem to be ongoing problems. I have been lucky reference my door panel hasn't caught fire yet, which could cause a serious traffic accident. Also my slick, skid control lights come on very easily when I take off and stay on till I can shut the car off and restart it, and hope doesn't come back on when I start to drive.
Gas gauge stop working.
Fuel sensor never gives correct reading causing me to run out of gas on 2 separate occasions, also the drivers side door control panel keeps going on and off only working some of the time and going in and out as I am driving.
The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The contact stated that the fuel gauge was stuck on zero and he was unable to determine how much fuel was in the vehicle. On one occasion while driving 65 mph, the vehicle ran out of fuel. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The VIN was unavailable. The failure and the current mileages were 95,000.
The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The contact stated the fuel gauge was providing inaccurate fuel levels. The contact stated that when refueling, the fuel gauge would read accurately but would fail after several moments after driving. The dealer was contacted and advised that the fuel sensor failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown. The VIN was not available.
Fuel guage not working properly.
Fuel gage when driving will show inaccurate gas level. Drops down to empty a lot after you pumped. Gas will fill up after pump on gage, but almost close to half when driving will go down and hit empty when gas is in vehicle.
Filled by my 2007 chevy Trailblazer yesterday and the fuel gauge reads empty and the fuel light stays on. Took my vechicle to the dealer and was told that I missed the warranty by 3,000 miles and it will be almost $800 to repair. Have read online that hundreds of consumers are experiencing the same problem with the same type of vechicle from 2005-2007 so there is obviously a defect in the manufactuer. This needs to be looked into and handled, it is obvious the dealer needs to reacall these vechicles and correct the problem.
Fuel gauge keeps showing empty when I know there is fuel in the vehicle. The faulty gauge goes from half full to the empty light (warning) coming on after driving less than 10 miles. This has been going on for about 3 weeks and just yesteday I received a letter from gm saying they will cover 50% of the cost to repair. It's faulty equipment and gm should put a "recall" in place and cover the total cost to repair!.
Fuel gague started fluctuating between full and empty, now it just stays on empty. 09-09-2011 with car in park the idle sometimes goes up to 2100 rpms then will go as low as 600 rpms, recently as of 09-16-2011 I have been noticing a fluctuation in speed on its own or without my assistance.
Inaccurate fuel gauge 2007 Trailblazer will show empty when it is not and full when it is low on fuel, an everyday occurance.
My 2007 chevy Trailblazer has a faulty fuel gauge. I was almost t-boned because the car died in the middle of an intersection and the fuel gauge said it still had fuel in it.
The fuel gauage says full for a couple weeks then goes to empty with the light coming on even if I put a gallon of gas in it . It goes right back to full and stays there the steering also feels like any day something is going to happen to it and its making a loud screching sound thought it might be power steering the fluid is full.
I own a 2007 chevy Trailblazer. The fuel gauge started fluctuating erratically and the gas light would come on and stay on. Then eventually it stop working altogether. My wife has ran out of gas in it one time. From the complaints I've been reading. I'm not the only consumer experiencing this same problem. I have called dealerships about this repair and it will be very exspensive to fix it. I feel the manufacture should step up and fix their problem. Its obvious that you have one. My family only purchases general motor products. Please let us keep our relationship healthy.
My 2007 chevy Trailblazer fuel indication (guage) system intermittently stops working, it just started doing this 2 weeks ago. After filling up at a gas station and driving for approximately 30 minutes the fuel guage goes to empty, and the low level fuel light illuminates, and remains this way so I have no idea how much fuel is in the vehicle. Occasionally when I start the vehicle in the morning it will momentarily give a fuel indication but I have no way of knowing if this is accurate, then the needle goes down to empty and the low level fuel light comes on within a few minutes. This is unacceptable. Everyday I get in the vehicle I have no idea how much fuel is in it, I keep an eye on how many miles I drive as a best guess as to how much fuel I have. If I run out of gas in heavy traffic in washington DC then it will create traffic backups/hazards. I have had similar problems in my 96 silverado, and 2001 blazer, so this seems to be a problem that chevy has known about for several years but refuses to fix it before someone gets injured or killed in an accident. Something needs to be done. My vehicle has not been repaired at this time.
#1-the fuel gauge stopped working on this vehicle while going down the highway. I went online to see if I could get an answer for why it would just suddenly quit working. It was there that I found hundreds of people who experienced the same problem. When I called Chevrolet about it, they said they could fix it for $500. I ended up having just the fuel sending unit replaced about 5 months ago and am now experiencing the same problem again. Chevrolet is fully aware of the problem, as they sent me a paper saying that if I got it repaired at a chevy garage they would reimburse 50% of the costs. To me having been an issue for many years chevy should pay to have the problem fixed not me! #2- during routine driving we attempted to roll down the driver side window and it failed to operate properly. I tried it a couple of times and had no luck. When I reached my destination I looked to see if maybe a wire was cut in the door hinge area, which it wasn't, and put my finger on the switch and noticed it was extremely warm. I shut the car off, left the door opened and allowed it to cool down. It works intermittently and still gets very warm when it doesn't work properly.
Fuel gauge began giving an inaccurate reading and eventually stopped working altogether.
The fuel gauge is faulty. At first it will read half full, or 3/4 full, and then the needle will go to empty triggering the low fuel light.
The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The contact stated that the fuel gauge became inoperable and she was unable to determine how much fuel was in the vehicle. After refueling the vehicle to its capacity, the fuel gauge read empty. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified. The current mileage was 45,000. The approximate failure mileage was 44,800. The VIN was unavailable.
Faulty gas gauge. Needles floats from empty to full. Ran out of gas on thruway in rush hour.
Tl - the contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet trail blazer. The contact stated that the vehicle fuel gauge was defective. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for inspection. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who advised the contact to take the vehicle in to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 72,000 and the current mileage was 75,000. Kmj.
Eratic fuel gauge. Possibly sender unit or guage.
The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The contact stated the fuel sensor gauge failed. After refueling the vehicle, the gauge was still providing an empty reading. Later, while driving 55 mph, the vehicle ran out of fuel due to an inaccurate fuel level reading. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for repairs or diagnosis. The manufacturer was not contacted. The VIN was unavailable. The failure mileage was 80,000.
My 2007 chevy Trailblazers' fuel guage does not function at all. It randomly lost ability to gauge on and off for a month and now finally always reads empty. We ran out of gas on the interstate, believing we had fuel.
Fuel sender failed 8 months ago resulting in the gas gauge always on empty. Chevy just sent out a courtesy letter advising they would pay for half the repair. I found 1000's of cases out there for the same issue with the same make and model vehicle. To me, this is a large scale problem that chevy should repair at no cost to their customers. Very disappointing. Chevy vehicles used to be rough and tough like their slogan "like a rock", but these days with all these costly problems, it's only fitting that they changed it to "chevy runs deep" in your pockets. . . . :-( my larger concern is that we already ran out of gas once with our two kids in the car on the tollway with 75mph speed limit. Very dangerous and a serious problem that chevy needs to fix!.
The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer. After refueling the vehicle, the contact noticed the fuel gauge displayed an inaccurate reading of empty. As the contact continued to drive, the fuel level gauge began to rise and display various readings. The contact stated that the fuel gauge was always inaccurate. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the contact was told that the fuel gauge would need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 51,000 and the current mileage was 52,000. The VIN was unavailable. Updated 5/24/11.
Fuel guage on the 2007 chevy Trailblazer has failed at less than 40,000 miles. Not knowing the level of fuel is a definite safety hazard. Problem is very common according to dealer. Cost to repair is from $600 to $1,000. Gm should be made to recall these vehicles.
