40 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 01/25/2011

Like many other owners of the 2007 Trailblazer, I have experienced failure of the fuel gauge. This is the second time it needs replacement in the four years I have owned this vehicle, and gm is not covering it under the warranty. The gauge goes down to zero and the low fuel indicator chimes. Last time around the check engine light also came on.

41 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 01/10/2011

Fuel gauge reading inaccurate.

42 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 01/07/2011

I have a 2007 chevy Trailblazer with less than 50,000 miles, the fuel level sensor just went out. The estimate was nearly a thousand dollars. . . . . This of course is not covered by extended warrenty, which was included in the price of this vehicle when I purchased in in Feb of 2010. The low fuel light is on at all times. I estimate fuel milliage with every fill up. Butt I am dissabled, and running out of gas somewhere on the side of the road is not an option. I bought this vehicle thinking I would be safe driving it. I can't afford an expensive repair like this. I have owned gm all my life. . . . Very dissapointed in gm. . .

43 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 01/06/2011

2007 chevy Trailblazer fuel gauge no longer works and constantly reads "empty. " the Trailblazer is my wife's sole transportation and puts risk to both her and my 3 year old daughter. In the instance that she runs out of gas due to her inability to know how much gas she has she is at risk of being stranded with my 3 year old daughter in the 100 degree texas heat. Additionally, the risk of her being stranded away from home or on a highway puts her life in danger. The failure of the gas gauge and fuel detection unit occurred in January of 2011 and has not operated properly since. To fix the problem will cost $700. The fact that this is a known and common issue for these vehicles makes it obviously apparent that the fuel detection system is defective and the responsibility of chevy. It is in the best interest of chevy to issue a recall on the unit to maintain consumer loyalty to the chevy brand. Otherwise, I am commiting to no longer purchase chevy or gm vehicles.

44 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 01/06/2011

Fuel gauge always reads empty check engine light on obd code reports fuel sensor input high notified Chevrolet customer assistance center 1/6/2011 reference service request number is 71-905754983.

45 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 01/02/2011

Gas gauge is irratic after filling up. I believe it is a faulty fuel level sensor.

46 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 12/21/2010

Fuel gauge stated I had enough fuel and I ran out of gas. It happened again just 2 months ago and I received a letter from gm telling me this might happen and that they will cover 50% of the cost. That's not good enough, I see complaints all over the internet. This needs to be a recall!!!!.

47 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 12/20/2010

I have a 2007 Chevrolet trail blazer that has a faulty fuel gauge. After a fill up the gauge reads full for approximately 20 miles and then reads empty and I get a chime and fuel warning light. I cannot rely on this equipment and fear running out of gas and causing an accident.

48 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 12/17/2010

My 2007 Trailblazer runs out of gas when gauge says full, have run out at 70 mph without notice on highway. Have no idea when it is working or not will show full one minute then empty the next. Repair is costly and have resulted to resetting trip meter, however if I forget or sit in traffic more than usual it is not accurate. I have run out of gas more times in the last 6 months than my whole life. Very unsettling to be stranded not to mention unsafe to be in car not knowing when going to just stop. I have been told that it is the fuel sending unit. There are many many 2005 - 2007 Trailblazer owners on numerous chat and complaint boards, why is there not a recall. I only have 65,000 miles this is ridiculous and not safe. Thank you for your time.

Failure Date: 12/10/2010

I have a 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer with a faulty gas gauge. The gauge will show how much fuel there is and then it will slowly go down to "e". I have to keep records of how much fuel that I put into the vehicle so that I do not run out of gas. This vehicle also has a faulty horn, where I need to turn the steering wheel for the horn to function.

51 Gasoline Fuel System problem

52 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 11/09/2010

One day I was driving my Trailblazer after I filled it up and a few miles down the road the gas gaugue went to empty. It does everytime time I fill up it will got to full then goes to epmty right down the road. Been doing since November 0f 2010 (88,000) and as of March 2011 (94,000) its still doing it. I have to calculate my gas milage. I called cox the dealership and they wont fix it for free there is no recall on this and there should be. There is hundreds of complaints about this. I was driving down the highway once in the fast lane with my 2 year old son and I ran out of gas and almost got hit by 2 cars behind me. I got stranded for 2 1/2 hours till I got someone to bring me gas. This needs to be recalled!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

53 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/15/2010

A couple months after I bought my used SUV I noticed the gas gauge jumping around. Sometimes it would read appropriate (guessing now) and sometimes it wouldn't move off 'e'. The gauge jumped around for a couple weeks then just quit working. I had to start keeping track of my mileage on paper so I could guesstimate when to put gas in. I got a quote on fixing this issue and was told it would cost me between $400-$800 to fix. I called the dealer I bought SUV from and asked them if they would take care of the problem and they told me flat out 'no'. They told me I could bring it in and have it fixed and pay for it but they wouldn't stand behind it. I was on my own. Since I couldn't afford to have it fixed I had to drive it this way for months, always writing down mileage and gas fill-ups. I finally had this repaired on 1/11/11 - it cost me $379. 83 to get it fixed. I don't feel I should've been responsible to pay for this repair. I have read numerous places about the '07 Trailblazers having this problem, along with confirmation from the garage that "this is a common problem with the '07 Trailblazer". The dealer I bought my vehicle from wouldn't return my phone calls or inquiries about how to report the problem or anything, they just shrugged their shoulders and didn't care and I had only had the vehicle for 3 months. . .

54 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/15/2010

The fuel sensor on my 2007 chevy Trailblazer has failed. The sensor would function when the vehicle was refueled. However, the dashboard gage would quickly drop to "fuel level low. " for the past few months, the sensor has failed completely and the fuel gage always displays "fuel level low. " . This is a very serious safety concern. Unexpectedly running out of fuel and not being able to monitor fuel levels puts owners with the same problem in a unnecessary compromised safety situation. I now monitor the level of fuel in the vehicle with the trip odometer gage. I know that I have to refuel at around 300 miles from fill up.

55 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/10/2010

Fuel level sensor failing.

56 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 09/28/2010

I own a 2007 chevy Trailblazer and the gas meter in the blazer says it empty when I just fill it. Now when I drive the light beeps and stays on. I have researched this problem and I see I am not the only one who has this trouble with my blazer. I cant believe there was not a recall on the sensor in the gas take. I contacted my dealer I bought the car from and explained the problem and they said that it not covered in the bumper to bumper warranty I bought for the vehicle. It cost over $1,000 to fix it. I feel that if I am not the only one with this problem, I see there is alot of people with this concern about there vehicle. I don't feel now my vehicle is safe and it only has 30, 000 miles on it.

57 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 09/23/2010

Fuel level sensor doesn't register correct amount of fuel. Stalled in traffic in middle lane of 6 lane highway. Chevrolet has admitted problem with "some" vehicles. I feel this is more widespread than has been admitted. Chevrolet should recall and replace at no cost to consumer.

58 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 09/10/2010

Fuel gauge incorrect readings resulting in several 'out of gas' situations. This has happened on busy express ways, remote rural areas, etc. Safety issues. Vehicle also has random warning lights that seem to come and go at will.

59 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2010

Fuel gage registered empty after fill-up and has not worked since.

60 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2010

Fuel gauge on my 2007 chevy Trailblazer quit working suddenly at about 40k mile. Gm denies any recall in order, but seems to be a common problem across the country when I research it on the internet. Now they're giving me the run around about fixing it.

61 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 08/31/2010

2007 Trailblazer at 51000 mi. Fuel gauge reading incorrectly after filling it would read ok for aprox. 100mi. Then drop to empty. Now 10000mi later it is permanently on empty. I am driving using the trip meter. I think this should be recalled for safety reasons.

62 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 08/24/2010

Gas gauge does not work. Reads empty even after vehicle is filled with fuel. Check engine is always on because of gauge problem.

63 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 08/17/2010

2007 chevy Trailblazer gas sensor has malfunctioned. Found out that it is not under warranty! I have found many complaints about this on the internet. There should be a recall on this part and it should be replaced or covered by my warranty!.

64 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 08/10/2010

At 58,000 miles the gas gage on my 2007 chevy Trailblazer stopped working. My check engine light went on, so I took into my authorized Chevrolet dealer. They charged me $95. 00 dollars and said that it was a dirty throttle plate. A note on my receipt said that a faulty gas gage could cause the light to come on. The gage fluctuated between full to empty for awhile, but now it does not work at all. I have to use my trip odometer set to 300 miles to estimate when I have to fill up with gas again. This is a dangerous situation, because I never know if when the engine light comes on if it is the gas gage or something more serious. It can be a serious problem when driving on the expressway or a long trip. I did complain to gm on case #71-934200928, but they refused to fix the problem.

65 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 08/10/2010

Gas gauge malfunction.

66 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2010

The gas gage on my 2007 chevy Trailblazer fails to give accurate readings, even after filling it up, it can read full, or immediately drop to empty, or just constantly changes. I do highway travelling up to 200 miles back and forth to college and it is a constant distraction.

67 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 07/01/2010

My fuel sender is blown. Gas gauge light is always on and reads empty. This is a huge problem with Trailblazers and there is no recall because we have to call gm with the issues we have in order for them to have a recall. So please if anyone has a fuel gauge problem in your Trailblazer please cal 1-866-790-5600 and lets get this rolling as a recall people. . The more people that call soon the faster the recall will happen. Let"s do this!!!!.

68 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2010

The gas gauge on my Trailblazer quit working in June of 2010. I was told at a dealership that I would have to have a diagnostic test that would cost me $90 before they could find out what was wrong with it and then of course it will be more money spent. I can't afford to have it fixed at this time. I keep track of my mileage by using one of the trip meters which tells we how many miles I have driven and figure out how far I can go before I need a fill up. I'd much rather have it fixed under a recall!.

69 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 05/19/2010

Ran out of gas because the gas gauge had quit working approximately 2 months before this incident. The automobile becomes very difficult to steer because the power steering pump quits working. You must apply a tremendous amount of force to turn the steering wheel just to get the vehicle off the road and you can't turn it quickly. It is a very dangerous situation. It happened again approximately 11/10/2010.

70 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 05/10/2010

Fuel guage system stopped working. Resulted in stalled vehicle. Guage would intermittantly work. Now it no longer registers any fuel.
