2003 Trailblazer that's been making a tapping noise for months when I turn it off but told there was no problem. Told sometime exhaust system makes this innocent noise. Now started the Trailblazer and it sounds like a jet taking off then engine light came on. Told by dealer that clutch fan broken and need to reprogram the computer at a cost of $900. After researching this issue, found hundreds of owners with the identical problem. Requesting a recall!!!.

Transmission problems with 2003 chevy Trailblazer. First occurrence brought into service department, tests were run, and they test drove, and found nothing wrong. Approx. 2wks later brought vehicle back in for same problem, ran tests and test drove, found nothing wrong, they called me, two days later and I asked them to hold it over and check again, they found a transmission problem, had to rebuild engine. 11 days later I received my car after the repairs. Same day that I received my car, experienced same transmission problems. Also I have taken my car in two other times for the fan clutch breaking.
2002 chevy Trailblazer total transmission failure at 25,478 miles. Sun shell stripped in transmission causing near fatal accident in intersection in ft. Myers,FL. Causing loss of control of vehicle, 01/12/04. Need complete recall of this transmission. Sun shell defective not holding up stripping, metal to thin 1/16 and stripping out causing loss of control of vehicle and causing transmission to fail. Also clutch fan failure at same time, 01/12/04. Many reports of 2002 Trailblazer transmission failure at many dealerships. Time for gm to take care of this issue before someone gets hurt or killed because of this well known problem gm has with their transmission failure due to a defective sun shell. Alfred j. Attard.
