Dashboard Failed Problems of Chevrolet Trailblazer - part 2

Stepper motor in my 2003 chevy Trailblazer with approximately 146000 miles went bad. Does not read correct fuel level. Dealer stated that fuel sender unit was working that the whole instrument cluster needed to be replaced. Have seen online that many Trailblazer owners are reporting similiar issues. Was told many other gm vehicles with same instrument clusters have failed and were replaced via recall.

2004 chevy Trailblazer has instrument cluster failure. . . Tachometer stuck at "maximum", and dealer reports all the gauges will be unreliable, shortly. Have read dozens of these complaints, but gm (who * saved) won't make it right?.

Tl * the contact owns a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The contact stated that the instrument cluster malfunctioned while driving 25 mph. The speedometer would not read accurate speeds traveled and the fuele lvel indicator would not read accurate fuel levels. The contact stated that there were numerous complaints found online regarding the instrument cluster failure and stated that the manufacturer should issue a recall. The contact stated the failure was a major safety issue. The failure mileage was 82,000.

Speedometer failure while driving 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer lt on the highway. Needle doesn't move at all. Cannot determine speed of vehicle. Brought to gm dealership. Diagnosed as instrument cluster failure. Similar cluster failures have occurred on other gm model SUV's and trucks (tahoe, suburban, sierra) and have been handled as "recalls". Gm has not acknowledged that the same failures which have occurred in Chevrolet Trailblazers are a safety defect worthy of a similar recall.

2005 chevy Trailblazer actually my problem started about 2yrs ago when my gas gauge went out. Then year later I was sitting in traffice and once I got back up to speed my speedometer went out and quit workin. It would jump around and then sometimes appear to be reading correctly then jump to zero or way over past 90 which of course I was not going that fast. Now my oil pressure gauge and temperature gauge are going out as well. After checking for recalls I see now there have been alot of complaints with this issue in the same year vehicle but no recalls. If this many vehicles are haing similar issues why isn't chevy making it right? I know mechanical things happen after owning a vehicle but not the same thing to this many vehicles.

Instrument panel cluster on 2004 chevy Trailblazer failing. Started with speedometer not registering correctly at around 85,000 miles. Then temp gauge pegged out at hot range, which cost me $200. 00 at dealer to replace a "sensor" which didn't fix the problem. Speedometer getting worse over the course of the next 15,000 miles culminating in complete malfunction of speedometer at 101,000 miles. Speedometer now will not go below 40 while stopped, and with any speed quickly registers 100 mph; while traveling at interstate speeds (using my tachometer below 2000 rpms) the speedometer is practically pegged out at max speed (> 125 mph). Never really know what speed I'm traveling; I could be speeding or I could be going too slow which is a hazard to other drivers as well as myself.

My speedometer stopped working around six months ago and now the oil level gauge has stopped working. From what I've been reading it is only a matter of time before the fuel gauge goes out. This is absurd that this hasn't been recalled since there are countless complaints concerning the instrument panel.

I, along with many others are experiencing major problems with the instrument panels on our Chevrolet Trailblazer. My mother traded hers in because her speedometer was going out. But my problem is much worse, my whole entire dashboard is out. My gas gauge doesn't work, my speedometer doesn't work, my oil pressure doesn't work, my thermostat doesn't work, nothing works. My cruise control acts up too.

Instrument cluster, specifically the tachometer has gone out. From my research its just a matter of time before the rest of my gauges go out. Dealer had quoted me $600 dollars for replacement of cluster panel. This is a common problem and needs to be addressed.

All electronic gauges within the instrument cluster failed at random times and very frequently, leading to the clusters' current state, which is all gauges are non-operational (dead). Hazardous condition caused due to speedometer failure. Chevy replaced the instrument cluster two times while under 36/36 mfg warranty. Chevy refuses to replace current instrument cluster since 36/36 has passed.

In July 2010 my Trailblazers clutch fan and thermostat went out. I was able to diagnose the problem by the number of complaints filed on this model that were on the internet. Then in October my tachometer started acting up, it broke November 24, 2010. The speedometer broke on December 3, 2010. I have found many complaints on the clutch fan going out and the cluster going out on the internet. Someone at work had a problem with their envoy and it was the thermostat and their clutch fan going out. All at fairly low mileage. I am very disappointed in gm for not wanting to repair these issues so the consumer bears the costs of repair which is about 500 for the clutch fan and thermostat and 400 for the cluster.

Fuel gauge has failed. At any given time, I am uncertain of the amount of fuel in my gas tank. I have contacted the dealer, they said they would diagnose the problem for $99, and the repair could cost $600 - $800. This is an obvious defect and should be replaced by gm as part of a recall. Since I could run out of gas at any time, it is obviously a safety issue.

We purchased a 2005 chevy Trailblazer LS and about a two months ago the speedometer will begin to stop working properly. After 40 mins of driving the gauge fails and will stay around 20 or be below 0 mph even on the highway. I contacted a local dealer who said there was no recall for this model and it would cost me over 500 dollars to repair. I don't have that kind of money. I'm very disappointed in this vehicle as I have heard hundreds of other complaints of the same for this model, and other GMC models. Is anyone going to stand for us, this is obviously a faulty vehicle. Please help.

02 Trailblazer cluster out 27 k mi. Garage kept.

Instrument cluster panel completely gone crazy. All gauges are out of control. I am not able to tell my speed and some of the lights come in in the panel while the truck is off. Have to disconnect the battery to make sure the thing will not catch fire. . This issue really needs to be investigated due to a possible fire hazzard.

The contact owns a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35 mph, the instrument cluster failed. The fuel level and battery gauge would fail intermittently. The dealer advised there was a defect in the ground wire and repairs would be at the contacts expense. The contact believed the manufacture should take the liability for the failure because he was able to locate hundreds of similar complaints online for his year, make and model pertaining to the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileages were 105,249.

My 2005 chevy Trailblazer is at the dealership at this moment due to malfunction in the instrument cluster panel. First my gas gauge went out 3 months ago and now my speedometer is broken - shows I am going 60 when I am at a stop or it may go down to 30 at times. It will cost $500 for the cluster and $550 for the fuel sensor. I called gm to see if they will pay for repairs but have not heard a response yet.

I have a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer that has a dashboard cluster failure. My speedometer and gas gauges do not work. I have no idea how fast I am going and how much gas I have left in my tank. This has been going on now for over a month. There are thousands of complaints on the internet from angry owners describing speeding tickets, running out of gas, odometer failing, dashboard lights dimming and warning lights appearing. Gm is failing to take ownership of this defect and dealerships are charging $550 to $650 for repairs.

Instrument cluster went dead - heater thermostat went out and drivers side is stuck on heat and won't shut off - sending the Trailblazer to obama and gov. 't motors - no chance it will ever get fixed since obama bought off the union!.

2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer LS. Instrument cluster failure. My speedometer is not working. My cruise control was intermittent for a while, but now no longer functions (fuse is fine).

My 2003 chevy Trailblazer's speedometer cluster went out it is not gauging with mph. This is a safety hazard because you can't tell what speed you are going I phoned chevy since my warranty is expired this should have been a recall. They won't fix it unless I pay for the repairs.

The fuel gauge went out in my vehicle. My speedometer is doing the same thing and my oil gauge. How is that not a safety recall! called they said there was no recall. Received a notice that they would pay half of repair for the fuel gauge. After warranty was up.

I've had issues with the odometer, gas and battery gauges for about a year. However, now the odometer drops and the car stalls and shuts off when I go to slow down. The check gauges light came on and off for a second. No other lights are on so I have no idea what this is. Car has about 75,000 miles.

Filled my tank and drove away the morning of the incident. While driving later that day my fuel gauge started going down while driving. It went to empty the low gas indicator light came on and it stayed that way for a few minutes before returning to full. This only happened 1x so far recently. I've also had problem with all the gauges going out while driving. Speedometer/fuel/ electrical/tach etc. Had to turn off the vehicle and restart to reset these functions in the past. 2-3x an had onstar run diagnostics. The electric stability control has also been coming on/off intermittently quite frequently at startup and at other times while driving. Fuel gauge failed. I ran out of gas on a very busy interstate with my granddaughter in the car. This could have been a major issue had I not been able to get off to the side of the road. It seems this is a common problem in the chevy Trailblazer. I took the vehicle to the dealer and they determined it was a fuel sensor in the fuel tank. The repairs cost me almost $300.

Trailblazer 2005 fuel gauge failure, speedometer intermittent failure, vehicle lunges at idol or shuts off approaching stop/brake. Almost causing accident. Been to repair and intermittent problem not identified. Fuel system flushed. Speedometer issue same. Fuel gauge currently not working properly, unreliable.

The contact owns a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer. While driving 55 mph, the speedometer indicated a speed of 0 mph. Each time she operated the vehicle, the contact stated that the speedometer would display an improper reading. The vehicle was taken to a local repair shop where it was repaired. Three days later, the failure occurred again. In addition to the speedometer, the fuel gauge also gave incorrect readings on the fuel level and the rpm gauge also displayed incorrect readings. The problems had not been remedied. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000 and the current mileage was approximately 142,000.

With driving home my speedometer starting screwing up. Now it doesn't work. Come to find out the cluster is bad. My dad has a 05 silverado and that cluster was recalled. Why not the Trailblazers with the same problem.

The instrument cluster for the dashboard began to fail. First, the rpm gauge no longer worked. After a little time had passed, the temperature gauge failed, then the battery gauge, then oil and gas. When various mechanics were asked about the problem, I was informed that it was a very common problem for Trailblazers and similar vehicles manufactured by gm. When gm was informed of this, they told me it was not under warranty and thus I would be responsible in fixing it.

2004 chevy trail blazer, speedometer, tachometer and gas gauge all failed while on the road. A speedometer is a must. I saw on the net where this is not an uncommon problem and the site said that gm has already won a law suit but has not issued a recall.

My speedometer has failed on my 2005 Trailblazer with 67,000 miles on it. It started malfunctioning in Dec. 09 intermittently. Now the defect seems permanent. My chevy dealership says gm will not stand behind the problem. I escalades. Why was the Trailblazer not included when they exhibit the same problem with instrument cluster failures. Is it because it is too large a problem to deal with. It is a safety issue when the speedometer is incorrect. There are too many failures to have this problem disregarded by gm. This is an expensive repair(about 5-600 dollars). The number of complaints are so great that I feel gm is ducking the problem. I can understand why gm needed a government bailout by manufacturing vehicles having such a grievous problem. Instrument clusters such not be failing at such a horrendous rate.

Instrument cluster fails to operate properly. The speedometer stopped working first, then battery,gas, and temperature gauges failed to work properly. Finally, there is no odometer reading or gear indicator showing on cluster.

The contact owns a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer. Since July 5, 2009, the fuel gauge dial fails to display the correct amount of gasoline in the tank. The contact feels that this is a safety issue because fuel began to leak out. In addition, the tank could be empty, but the fuel gauge would display a full tank. The VIN was unknown. The failure mileage was 70,000.
