Chevrolet Trailblazer owners have reported 4 problems related to driveshaft (under the power train category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
This has happened to me 4 times in the last year and a half first time at a red light it turned green I was the only car at the light when I hit the gas it felt like someone rear ended me look no one behind me then the rear brakes were locked up I drove it 1/4 of a mile and they unlocked them selves I drove to my dealer told them he looked it up said there was a service bulletin about that took my blazer in for a oil change an I supposed looked at the brakes then about 6 months later the same thing and it felt like some one rear ended me again but no one there behind me. . Then about a month ago in July the same thing at a red lite and I had 3 senior citizens in the blazer when they all thought some one ran into the rear of me but no one was behind me the rear brakes only stayed locked up maybe 300 yards and then released . . Then today at a stop sign 8-16-2012 same thing then all kind of noise going to the doctors office about 1/4 of a mile away got into the parking lot an the drive shaft fell out at the front of the trans here both bars trailing arms at the rear axle broke had to have it towed the Chevrolet dealership(greenwood) in austintown ohio I have 43000 miles on it and bought it new at greenwood Chevrolet.

- on November 11, 2006 the contact was driving at 5-10 mph on wet road conditions when the contact lost control of the vehicle. There were no warning indicator lights displayed on the 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The vehicle started spinning, the contact's vehicle hit a cement median, and the vehicle spun around again. The left front tired looked shredded. There were no injuries. The vehicle was towed away. The drive shaft was replaced. The contact stated that once the vehicle was repaired the tire was rubbing on the frame. The contact took the vehicle to another repair shop and was told that the drive shaft had been installed incorrectly, causing the tire to rub on the frame. The first dealer did not tell the contact they replaced the drive shaft. The vehicle's drive shaft has been ordered and the contact is still driving the vehicle. The vehicle had approximately 28,000 miles at the time of the failure. The contact has the repair invoices.

I own a 2002 chevy Trailblazer and have had nothing but problems with it since it was bought. It's been in the shop a total of 7 times. Three of the times it has been in the shop with drive train problems, two times for u-joints and once for a bearing to the driveshaft. Another two times the vehicle just stopped and the transmission could not be shifted into gear. Now after 43,000 miles the transmission failed and would not go into reverse and since the warranty is only for 36,000 miles it is now going to cost $2800. 00 to repair it. I feel that a transmission in a car that is only a year and a half old should not have failed since all the maintenance since the car was bought was done at the dealership. I have also never received and of the recall notices I have read about on this vehicle. The bottom line is a transmission should last a little longer than 43,000 miles.
