Details of dealer appointments: appointment: November 25-26, 2024 I entrusted my vehicle to [dealer name], where it was kept for two days. Despite this, no diagnostic efforts or repairs were conducted, as confirmed by the service advisor, erica jones. Frustrated by the lack of action, I retrieved my vehicle on November 26, 2024. Second appointment: December 2, 2024: I scheduled another appointment with the same dealer and dropped off my vehicle on December 1, 2024. To my dismay, the paperwork I received at the conclusion of this visit contained several discrepancies: the entry date was listed as November 25, 2024, with a promised completion date of December 2, 2024. This is incorrect, as I had my vehicle from November 26 to December 1, 2024. The mileage recorded at drop-off was less than the actual mileage on the vehicle at that time. The report stated that only one mile was driven during the diagnostic process, which is insufficient for evaluating my concerns thoroughly. I have had this vehicle at the garage for the 4th time in 2 months for the same issues. It would not start. The fuse box keeps blowing. The starter was replaced and the alternator was replaced and the fuse box 3 times so far. It is in the auto repair shop now for the same issues. The mechanic has done an inspection and diagnostics and cant find what is wrong. There were no warning lights to warn me of anything. I have spent 4500+ so far in repairs and more to come.

When I place my car in park, a "shift to park" message appears on the dashboard. I am unable to fully turn my car off and the car will ding at me. I have tried driving around the parking lot, pushing the shifter from side to side and into another gear then park again, going forward and backward, but the problem still exists. It started to occur more frequently, until it occurred every time I drove the car. I'm not sure if the car is actually in park, so when I finally get it to turn off, I place the emergency brake on. I can not physically turn the car off when this message appears on the dashboard. I took the vehicle to the service center of the dealer on 11/12/2024. I was told this has been a big problem with gm cars and they have had many cars coming in with the same problem. Currently the part is on backorder, and there is not an eta as to when it will be available due to high demand for this part.
On [xxx] I shifted my 2021 chevy Trailblazer to park and and was unable to shut off the vehicle. When I shifted it to park it kept displaying an error "shift to park" on the dashboard, but the shifter knob was correctly in park. I attempted to press the power button to turn off the car and it wouldnt do anything but beep. I tried multiple times to shift to park to get the car to recognize it was actually in park and turn off the vehicle but I was unable to do so. I was frantic and panicked to find I could not turn off my vehicle as I park on a apartment complex lot. That day I took the car to henna Chevrolet in austin TX for repair. They said the part was on backorder from gm with no eta. It is now November 1st and there is still no eta on when I will get the part for my car from gm. My daughter was stopped at a stoplight and the auto-stop engaged. The light turned green and she began to accelerate when all of the error lights on the dash lit up, then the dash info system and infotainment system went out followed by the engine turning off and not restarting. While all of this happened, the vehicle behind me struck my daughter’s car. Luckily it was at a low rate of speed and no one was injured. I took the car to the dealer and after nearly a week of testing they found nothing wrong and found no error codes in the system. They ere not able to replicate the problem. However, once we got the vehicle back a similar instance happed again, except just the dash info system and infotainment system went out and the car was still drivable. Once restarted the electronics came back on as normal. It has not happened again at this point. Had the first incident happened at a higher rate of speed a severe injury or fatality could have occurred.
2021 chevy Trailblazer when I go to park my car, there is a constant error of 'shift to park'. The car is already in park. I must wiggle the shifting knob, restart my car, or drive around before my car will turn off and recognize that it is in park. My safety is compromised each time I get in the car. If the car cannot recognize it is in park, what happens when it can't recognize it is in drive as I am on the road? or reverse? or any gear? my safety is also affected because my car does not realize it is in park, and at times I cannot exit my car. I am highly concerned that the car does not truly know which gear it is in and it compromises not only my safety, but the safety of my family/other passengers, and other drivers on the road. The problem is a known problem and there is an active fix bulletin for the problem. Gm cannot get the part in stock - it has been 5 weeks. It affects not only my year, make, and model, but many others too. Gm continues to sell the cars with this known safety defect. This defect has been confirmed by the dealership, and gm has sent out a known fix for the issue (TSB pit5616a). There is also a class action lawsuit for this specific issue with gm. Gm's solution to me is to trade in my car for a newer model rather than waiting for the part. In addition, many cars of my year, make, and model require a whole new transmission, but gm will only replace the shifter harness to start with, if and when they receive the part. I was told that the part could take up to six months to receive. For an issue that has been happening since at least 2019, this is unacceptable. The only warning that I receive is when I am trying to shut off my car and it will not shut off due to this error. This has been happening to my car for 2 months, but there seems to be a history of this defect since at least 2019.
I was driving my 1 week old vehicle, on a city street, foot still on the gas, and the vehicle completely shut down; no power at all. It wasn't the auto start/stop technology, but rather a complete power down. No lights, no hazard lights, no dash, nothing worked. The car came to an abrupt stop. The gear shift could not be moved into neutral, nothing. Luckily I was on a city street with not a lot of traffic. If I had been on a highway it could have caused a serious accident; if I had been driving across railroad tracks and it stops - very dangerous. I was able to contact aaa, and after a "jump", it started. However, because of my proximity to the highway, I opted to have it towed to the dealer where I bought it. . . . They ran service on it and can find nothing wrong with it. . . As you can imagine, I am nervous to drive on the highway (which I do 5 days a week normally). . .
This is an update for complaint # 11619009 after doing some online research and discussing with the service manager at my dealership, we identified a simple issue- apparently there was a problem with the torque used in connecting the ground wire for the electrical auto start-stop feature, which is what cause my vehicle to completely die and not be able to be restarted. After it was identified, it was corrected within minutes. I highly recommend that there be a service bulletin for any purchasers/lessees of the new 2024 Trailblazer (and possibly other chevy vehicles) to have the grounding issue checked.

For about a month now my vehicle is telling me to put it in park when it is already in park. Have to restart multiple times and go through all the gears put it back in park turn it off and still get the "shift to park" error. It does not happen every time I use my vehicle, but it happens so much I am unsure if it is safe to use. Even though it shows it is in park I wonder is it really? I have called the dealer where I purchased it for them to look at it and they will not even schedule an appointment because they say the parts are on back order and they have no idea when they will get them. This is the first brand new car I have purchased and after having a lot of secondhand vehicles I went back to chevy. I am very disappointed in chevy it only has 23000 miles on it, and they are not doing anything to fix this, I would not recommend chevy/GMC to anyone.

After placing the vehicle in park I get the “shift to park error”. I can’t leave the vehicle, or lock it. It can take any where from 5 to thirty minutes for it to actually read the shift. My car is now not reading my key 80% percent of the time. The vehicle turns off while driving down the road. Saying no “remote detected”. The key has been locked in the car twice. Which should be impossible. I’ve been stranded outside of my vehicle at night in atlanta for long periods of time. Trying to get the vehicle to unlock because it is not reading the key.
When putting vehicle in park and turning the car off, getting message to place vehicle in park and car "dinging. " this started about 2 weeks ago and was intermittent, now it's every time I put the car in park and takes me about 5 minutes of turning the car on and off, placing in park before it finally registers the vehicle is in park.
My 2024 chevy Trailblazer fully shutdown the engine and everything at a stoplight with the start/stop on leaving me to put pack into park and restart vehicle!!.

Bought last year in November. Starting having "shift to park" alert when car was in fact, in park. Took me 5 minutes to successfully turn my car off. It happens intermittently and at first it was just one and done, now (after about a week) it's almost every time I park. It's very frustrating. I called the dealership and they can't get me in for 2 weeks. Unsure if they will be able to diagnose/fix the problem.

I was driving and the vehicle cluster display and radio went out. I was unable to see how fast I was going and any system info. It eventually came back on. During this time the car was continuing to drive but unable to see any lane - blindspot warning or speed or system controls or warning events.
05/29/24 I took this vehicle to cronic Chevrolet in griffin, GA due to check engine light being on. Code detected purge pump it was still under warranty at that time only had 43,906 miles on had to get the purge pump replaced. Several weeks after getting it back I kept getting a shift to park message come up when trying to put it in park then started having trouble getting it to go into drive. I have had so many close calls from people almost bashing into me because my car will not go into drive and you constantly have to switch in and out of gears for it to finally go in. Its sucking the had right out due to it not shifting gears properly. The code reader detected transmission control module which I find to be faulty and understand there are serval recalls on this specific vehicle , when it started this issue it didn’t even have 50,000 miles on it!.
I first noticed an issue about a year ago when an electrical blaring noise was coming from my speakers followed by popping and crackling noises. I have taken my car into the dealership several times without resolution. Since then, I have noticed excessive humidity in the vehicle and recently found the trunk was flooded. I took the vehicle in to the dealership again, and they say the interior fabric is compromised now and the electrical sounds I was experiencing are coming from electrical damage inside the body. I have now read another review online from someone who had the exact same experience with this make and model. I believe this is a safety hazard to drivers who are unknowingly driving around for months in a vehicle that could be flooding and could cause severe damages like in my case. I have documents to support these claims, but I do not have electronic copies. If someone reaches out to me I can provide hard copies.

We own a 2022 chevy Trailblazer and we have experienced the “shift to park” issue more times than we can count. We receive the “shift to park” message on the dash screen after the car has been shifted to park and we attempt to turn the vehicle off. This problem has caused me to be late to my job on numerous occasions and late to an exam that determines my graduation at school. Many users report being able to just shift through the gears a couple times or wiggling the gear shift and it shuts off, but that is not always my case. I have, on a few occasions now, had to remove my gear shift knob and panel completely, locating the park switch and manually bending it to recognize that my car was in park. Doing this will typically subside the issue for about a week, but no longer than that. We have tried to have the dealership see the message when taking it in for other things, but it never seems to happen when they are watching. There were no other issues with this vehicle before this started happening. We purchased the vehicle in February with about 44,000 miles. This issue has instilled fear in me every time I go to shut my vehicle off never knowing if it will actually shut off or not. Dramatic or not, it has caused unwanted anxiety and too many mental breakdowns that were not needed. This needs to be addressed and fixed ASAP!.
Shift to park warning message continues to appear when already in park and trying to turn the vehicle off. Unable to exit and leave vehicle until you continually try jamming the gear into park over and over to get it to register.
While driving 65-70 mph cruise control will continuously "bog" down and act like it is wanting to cut off the whole vehicle. Transmission is starting to act like it is slipping to the point where I am going all the way to the steering wheel before it catches again. Vehicle is under 36,000 miles and should not be having transmission issues. Radio has been replaced once before but is now doing the same thing where it is not recognizing my phone, directions given to it by touch on screen, and will even completely turn off while in the middle of driving. Will freeze and then act like the screen has 'water' damage. Back up camera is not calibrated correctly. It states that I have more than enough room to make a turn but when looking into my mirrors, it is off by almost a foot and a half. I was in a car accident due to the back up camera malfunction with the difference in distance and with the screen malfunctioning. I have had the vehicle inspected by the chevy dealership multiple times and they have stated that there is nothing coming up on the code reader. The vehicle is available for inspection. My children ride in this vehicle and after the accident, I do not deem it quite safe with the malfunctioning parts. There has not been any lights coming on for the issues but the issues are there.
My 2022 Trailblazer has had a shift to park issue. It’s hazardous as I have to constantly park my car in reverse to get the “shift to park” message off my dashboard screen. My car doesn’t shut off properly with this issue. My car is only at 19,700 miles. It should not be having this issue.

It would occur occasionally but on Jan 4th of this year, I had to restart and move my car 11 times in order for the alert to be cancelled and I was able to shut off my car. I have been told there is no parts available by the dealer who has my car and they don’t know when the work will be done!.
The radio screen is constantly going black or glitching, the music will silence, the back up camera will stop working. Carplay does not connect often, also glitches in and out when driving. There is little to no air or heat coming from the floor panel when feet option is pressed for climate. In order to feel heat or a/c have to be on face option.
Unable to remove key from ignition on numerous occasions. This gives a person an opportunity to steal to vehicle or even a child and get in the car and put in gear. Thus happens with both keys. When unable to remove the doors will not lock. My mechanic can not find a fix.
The brakes I’ve had issues with them making noises since I purchased my car. The rubber around the wheel wells about 6 months after I purchased my car and the shift to park just started this month September 2023. I feel my car is a piece of crap that’s falling apart.

Smudge on rear hatch above window, took to dlr they said maybe I did it. I was told to come back day after day and no record of these visits. When the fixed paint at their shop no paperwork. Oct 3 23went dl show lt rear window, I had to n cal. Nov 3 at dlr Dec 4 told me to bring 5th fix back window but the left rear window defect they told me they order that day! so my vehicle was at the dealership for approx 2 weeks Feb 8-22 the day they called saying my car was ready to pickup I ask if the window was replaced yet etc. Ricky the advisor(nice guy)he tells me there’s nothing in the system about the window issue, he says he’ll tell his manager and call me back. He informs me the window was never ordered in Nov and they just ordered Feb 22nd. I picked my vehicle up Feb 22nd and it’s still having radio system issues, starting or stopping issues. Mar 27 window was replaced also tinted. The bubbles in the window tint again yesterday the radio system wasn’t working properly, the speakers were static, display not operating, blackout, the lane departure has me all over the road! the push start doesn’t operate correctly (will not shut off, the other day the car continued to roll backwards after I put in park. Lunges when parking in garage the fact that I have been going in for various issues and there’s no records or notes in system showing this. I reviewed docs I have found the miles in/out were same so how could someone have test driven to duplicate my concerns? Apr 23 I go in garage gas fumes filled the air, I thought it was pressure washer but I took it out and used fan to clear. Drive car come back garage a bit better, put garage for night…again 24th, 25th and today. I can’t see any leaks on garage floor.
The car will all of a sudden make a loud popping noise through the radio. It is enough to scare someone while they are driving and have a wreck. The brakes are very touchy to the point of almost giving you whiplash.
The shift to park feature on this vehicle keeps on displaying on the screen when the vehicle is in park and is trying to be turned off.
When you shift to park a message comes up and says shift topark when it is already in park. The main problem is the vehichcle will not shut off. You have to do many differant things to try to get the message to leave and then it will cut off. This has been happening now since it hit 29700 miles and does it almost everytime we drive it now. There is a serious problem here if you cant shut off the vehicle . I also noticed many other people having the same issue with the Trailblazers. This needs a recall fix.
