Electrical power distribution box power wiring/ribbon that is under left rear seat overheated and caught papers inside car on fire and caught entire car on fire from overheated copper ribbon that failed to trip circuit breaker to stop wiring ribbon overheating. This defect is common and when the manufacturer changed from wires to copperr ribbon foil it created a means for wiring/ribbon overheating and source of fire to begin.
The contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer. While driving 10 mph, the contact noticed smoke coming from the driver's side door panel. He pulled over and turned off the vehicle, which caused it to stop smoking. A mechanic stated that the control fuse box caught fire. The contact took his vehicle to the dealer, but they did not have the necessary parts for the repair. In addition, the contact was experiencing fuel gauge issues. When he filled up the vehicle with gasoline, the gauge indicated that it was empty. The failure mileage was 47,500. Updated 07/28/09 updated 07/30/09.
"service engine soon" light would flash on then immediately off, truck would feel like it momentarily lost power while driving. Recently the fuses for all the gauges have been blowing out repetitively. The speedometer does it more than the others. Have replaced them several times in the past three months. Chevy was helpfully "guessing" at first but finally told us there was nothing they could do towards the end of our 3 year warranty. We haven't taken it back to them for the ongoing problems.

The contact owns a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The contact stated that the seat controls failed and no longer moved the seats properly. The fuses were replaced, but the contact stated that they smelled as if they had burned not long afterwards. She had the fuses tested and was informed that there was a shortage in the fuse box that could result in a fire. The Chevrolet dealer stated that they would not repair the vehicle for free because the vehicle was not under warranty. The contact also stated that when she applied the brakes, she heard a clicking noise coming from the fuse box. The VIN, engine size, number of cylinders, and purchase date were unknown. The current and failure mileages were 71,239.

The accelerator pedal position sensor failed causing loss of power to the vehicle. The vehicle would only accelerate to 10mph and almost caused an accident. I also had/have numerous other problems with the vehicle.

I bought my Trailblazer on April, 2002. Since then, I have had only electrical problems. The indicator light above the four-wheel drive knob has failed twice. The dome light has failed twice. The driver's side reverse light has failed once. Finally, the passenger-side brake light just recently failed. All but the brake light has been serviced by the dealership which sold me the Trailblazer. From the repair description, the problem did not lie from a burned-out bulb. Rather, the problem stemmed from a fuse or another internal, electrical problem.
Purchased Feb 1, 2002. Since then have had nothing but problems. Had into 4 different dearlerships fixing many problems but after each visit another problem occurs. From tail lights burning out, windhshield wiper motor failures, instrument cluster replaced, heater control panel replaced once, memory mirror modules replaced 2 times, heated seat switches replaced 2 times, rear window defogger/replaced entire rear window 1 time, battery replaced 1 time ( said battery was at fault for current problems) battery was fine and charged me $ 150 for new battery that was not the correct battery replacement, exhaust gasket became loose/loud and had to be replaced, the fuel pump replaced because it just cut off as I was on the expressway going approx 65 miles an hour, I had to get to the side of the road quickly- had to be towed to dealership. Problem fixed, however after I picked it up then the current problem began. I could go on and on with the problems that I have had. Present problem is that whenever I turn on the heat it dies out with no warning---just stops and stalls. Dealership says they fixd it but upon pick up the problem still exists. Gone to pick it up 2 times, but when I start it and put on heat, it dies all over again even after dealership claims they fixed it. I live in chicago and it has been a cold winter. Almost caused a crash on another expressway on way home from having the airbag sensor and a complete brake job done and all fluids changed. This vehicle is not worth $ 37,000 and I feel it is time that gm accept some responsibility for this lemon of a vehicle. It is my only vehicle and I am still paying dearly for it but lately cannot even use it as it remains in one dealership after another at my expense. I will not purchase another vehicle from gm. I need help and answers as I am not getting anywhere even with this vehicle still under warranty.
Brake lights stopped operating. Dealer determined that the circuit board malfunctioned and replaced it.
