1 Horn Assembly problem of the 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer

Failure Date: 09/28/2019

Low beams stopped working, took it to the dealer who replaced both bulbs and it worked for a couple weeks now low beams randomly shut off while driving, especially at night. Airbag sensor keeps turning on and off and the horn stopped working. The airbag sensor seems to come on more on longer trips around the city with more turns.

2 Horn Assembly problem of the 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer

Failure Date: 05/18/2015

I purchased my 2003 chev Trailblazer new in 2003. I have never had any problems with it. It was parked in my driveway and I just went outside and unlocked it to put something in the vehicle and locked it back. About an hour or so later, I heard the horn start to blow but the keys were hanging up inside the house. I went out to see what the problem was and the vehicle started trying to crank on its on several times. Then I smelled something and raised the hood and the fuse box located under the hood was melting. We disconnected the battery but it had already melted the box by that time. I had it towed to the dealership but they didn't know if there was a recall or not. I need for someone to tell me why a vehicle would do something like that when I was not even driving it at the time and if hopefully there is some kind of recall because I can't afford what they are telling me it will take to fix it. They said it destroyed all three wiring harnesses. ??.

3 Horn Assembly problem of the 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer

Failure Date: 08/14/2008

Horn button in steering wheel becomes progressively more difficult to actuate, eventually failing altogether. Horn can no longer be sounded by pressing on air bag cover on steering wheel. Consequence is inability to sound a hazard warning to other vehicles during an emergency, which can render a collision unavoidable. Defective or misadjusted horn button switch is proven as root cause because horn can still be activated by remote key fob.

5 Horn Assembly problem of the 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer

Failure Date: 03/23/2007

The contact owns a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The contact complained about a speedometer failure. While idling the speedometer read 90 mph. The dealer stated that the instrument cluster was damaged. When the temperature was below 30 degrees the steering column froze and activated the horn. The horn will not deactivate unless the fuse wasremoved. Additionally, when applying the brake pedal the vehicle began to decelerate, but the pedal dropped all the way down to the floor. The contact must release and depress the brake pedal again in order to stop the vehicle. The dealer was unable to diagnose the cause of the failures. The current mileage is 75,000, and failure mileage was 70,000.

7 Horn Assembly problem of the 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer

Failure Date: 04/11/2006

Car died on exit ramp of 290 and thorndale. Pushed car to side of road where we noticed smoke coming from under hood. Upon opening hood saw fire coming from filter under air cleaner compartment. Flagged down police officer who helped put out fire with fire extinguisher. Had car towed to advantage Chevrolet who said they had never seen anything like this and perhaps a cigerette got sucked in and started the fire. Contacted gm who sent out a rep and could not explain fire so he concluded gm was not responsible under warranty because the car must have sucked in some foreign object and it was not a mechanical failure. Car was repaired under my insurance, who is fighting the claim. Parts replaced were air cleaner compartment, ducts, clamps, sensors, snorkel, element etc. Was told old parts were in back of car, but when we looked parts were missing. Dealer still looking for parts. No one has yet to address why car died in the first place.
