What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? - the shift lever/gear control malfunctions when trying to put the vehicle in park. The vehicle once the lever is in park on the dashboard it will say !place vehicle in park. When it is in park you can't open the doors or turn off the vehicle. You can try to jiggle the shift lever but it doesn't move out of park. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? - unable to get out of the vehicle, the system locks the doors. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? - it has occurred at the beginning of the year. No it hasn't been confirmed by a dealer or independent service center. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? - no were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? - once you put the shift lever in park and try to turn off the car the warning lamp comes on and says place in park. But the shift lever is in park. You are unable to move the shift lever. I don't know the exact date it first started happening but I believe it was at the beginning of the year.

For about a month now my vehicle is telling me to put it in park when it is already in park. Have to restart multiple times and go through all the gears put it back in park turn it off and still get the "shift to park" error. It does not happen every time I use my vehicle, but it happens so much I am unsure if it is safe to use. Even though it shows it is in park I wonder is it really? I have called the dealer where I purchased it for them to look at it and they will not even schedule an appointment because they say the parts are on back order and they have no idea when they will get them. This is the first brand new car I have purchased and after having a lot of secondhand vehicles I went back to chevy. I am very disappointed in chevy it only has 23000 miles on it, and they are not doing anything to fix this, I would not recommend chevy/GMC to anyone.

When putting vehicle in park and turning the car off, getting message to place vehicle in park and car "dinging. " this started about 2 weeks ago and was intermittent, now it's every time I put the car in park and takes me about 5 minutes of turning the car on and off, placing in park before it finally registers the vehicle is in park.

Odometer: 50,379 purchased used on April, 1 2024 odometer: 47,027 brought to dealer on 8/28/2024 for service. About two weeks ago we had a "shift to park" message is displayed on the dic after the vehicle was placed in park and shut off. Started it again and then put it in drive then back to park. Message went away. Then over the course of the next week this happened many more times to the point where we were stuck in a shopping parking lot because we could not leave the car as it kept beeping to fix the issue. Made appointment with dealer. After diagnose from dealer they said it needed to perform service bulletin #23-na-119, recommend replacement of transmission control. They at first wanted us to pay for it and we advised dealer we had a chevy warranty. After a few days they advised it would be covered under warranty except for our $50 deductible. Main problem is the part # 13545091 was not available locally and dealer had to research to find part. Advise it could take until 9/26/24 to find part. This should be a no charge recall by the mfg. As this can be a safety issue and to ensure more parts are in stock by dealer.

My 2021 chevy Trailblazer has an error reading “shift to park” that randomly appeared 2 weeks ago, now is doing it almost every time I stop my car, error has also cause my battery to die. When error is showing my car will not shut off. Took to a chevy dealer and recommended changing the gear shift assembly, can’t guarantee it will fix the problem. They have ordered the part but $450 plus parts and labor for not a guarantee is concerning. I also travel for work and have been left stranded because of this issue.

Bought last year in November. Starting having "shift to park" alert when car was in fact, in park. Took me 5 minutes to successfully turn my car off. It happens intermittently and at first it was just one and done, now (after about a week) it's almost every time I park. It's very frustrating. I called the dealership and they can't get me in for 2 weeks. Unsure if they will be able to diagnose/fix the problem.

Noise only when cold at front tire passenger side nosie at front tire passenger side while steering. Check engine lite code po299 turbocharger/supercharger underboost-engine power is reduced. Replaced tire at 24600 miles. While driving at 65 mph, the forward collision avoidance system activated, and the car stopped at 65 mph. It happened 5 times that car fully stopped, and numerus time I get forward collision activated but then nothing happens. Imagine on freeway from 65 to 0 brakes by itself. Hard shifting and body shaking while accelerating. Hood is shaking while driving on freeway.

The pick up on the vehicle is losing power it seems not letting the rpm's go up or drop down before taking off. This cause the vehicle to move slower than normal code keeps popping up losing power engine while drive and engine light comes on this goes on for about a week or so than stops and engine light disappear and reappears again.

Nearly every time I park my car and shut it off a message pops up on the message board that says shift to park even though it is in park. I have to restart my car multiple times and shift to another gear and back into park before the message goes away. This has been happening for a couple of weeks but is getting more frequent.

Turbo failure resulted in loss of engine power. I was driving down the road and the engine light came on and I got a notification that the engine was in reduced power mode. The vehicle became very sluggish and lost speed. While I was fortunate that I was not on a busy road, had the incident happened on the highway it could have been dangerous given my loss of speed. What's of greater concern, this appears to be a common problem on the Trailblazer message boards. The dealer confirmed it was the turbo and stated that the part was on back order. This indicates the problem is occurring very frequently. The vehicle only has 33k miles on it.

The turbo is bad in the car at 90,000 miles. It is a common issue among these, lots of other people have the same issue with the “engine power is reduced” message popping up, per the 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer facebook group. There needs to be a recall so they can be fixed. It has happened on mine for the past few months and the dealer said the turbo is bad. The purge pump has already been replaced.

On 7/2023, my timing chain broke causing shards of metal to get in the engine. Engine replaced with new engine. When I received car back, started having issues with transmission. Now transmission needs replacing.

Repeat issues with the transmission, ongoing issue for about two months. Initially experienced the vehicle not shifting in drive or reverse, which was resolved in drive. The issue persists when in reverse, where I will put it in gear but it will rev without moving, as if the vehicle is in neutral . The dealership has replaced the valve body three times and is now awaiting other parts to attempt to resolve the issue.

The contact was able to stop on the side of the road. The contact smell like something was burning and notice that smoke was coming from the floor of the vehicle on the front passenger side near the seat belt assembly. The contact and the passenger was able to exit the vehicle, after exiting the vehicle burst out in flames. The fire department was able to extinguish the fire. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 20,000.

I have noticed that when it's very cold, the vehicle will not shift to the two highest gears (I think) until 20+ minutes into my trip, and that's with having auto-started the vehicle 10 minutes prior to getting in it. So it takes about 30 minutes for the vehicle to shift into whatever the two highest (I think) gears are. This morning, 20+ minutes into my trip, I was going 71mph while pushing 4,000rpms, and it wouldn't shift. The temperature outside is 1 degree fahrenheit. The same thing was happening when it was cold in December. That day I don't think it got above 0 degrees fahrenheit.

The vehicle began to give the error shift to park when the vehicle was in park and after the power was shut off. Because of this I cannot safely turn off the vehicle because it cannot recognize it's in park and will run the battery down whenever I use the vehicle. This problem has been previously presented in other models manufactured by gm. I am taking the vehicle in for inspection at a local Chevrolet dealership on 9/24/22 at 8 am. This issue first started around the second week of September this year with one or two errors here and there. Now, it happens every time I drive the vehicle.

When I shift the gear from park to drive & step on the gas, the vehicle hesitates to drive. I have to turn off my vehicle, play with the gear shift, then shift again to get it to move. The other day I put my vehicle in drive and it rolled back and reversed. Nobody can figure out what’s wrong with my vehicle. The check engine light comes on then goes off. Nobody can get the problem to duplicate. A ticket to GMC was submitted and from them, my vehicle seems fine on paper. This is a safety hazard. I’ve taken my vehicle to a chevy dealer and also to a GMC dealer multiple times.

While driving my Trailblazer in a4wd on slippery road conditions, I went to pulled out of a parking lot and there was a loud sound like my whole front end fell out and the front end completely locked up. Almost causing an accident. I had to dial back to 2hi quickly to unlock to front end. There was no light indicating any problems. Been driving it 2hi since with out any problems. Still no service light or anything, but feels like I'm stuck in a4wd. Feels like there is a drag and a pulling to the right. Also using more gas since. It was a scary, afraid to try the 4x4 functions again. Another snow storm is on the way!.

Ive had to continueously replace the brakes axles, warped rotors . As well as needing to purchase tires for front end due to control arms malfunction. Constant replacemenf of front axle all causing rubbing, mis alignment and front end sitting inward. These replacements happen more than 3 times a year the last 3 years of ownership.

Several months ago, I was at a fast food drive up window. I had my drivers side window down while paying for my food and receiving my food. It was down pouring and the inside of my door got pretty wet. I wiped off the rain as best as I could but everything was soaked. The very next day the drivers side door controls started to go haywire. The window button stopped working and my door locks only worked occasionally until they stopped working all together. My side mirrors can no longer be adjusted from the drivers seat. I have to get out of the vehicle and manually adjust both driver and passenger side mirrors. I'm not sure if there is a short in the wiring from the rain or just what is going on. I asked a parts dealer to see how much it would cost to replace the drivers side door controls module and he was of no help except to say its a recall part because of moisture. I've looked this up and I see there was a recall but my VIN isn't on the recall list. I don't understand why my vehicle is excluded considering this appears to be exactly what this incident generated the recall in the first place. I further looked into the investigation you had on the Trailblazer's outside of the salt belt states having the same issues with the moisture and issues that arise from the damaged door controls. I'm not sure if I would be considered in the expanded recall but I'm certain I should be as this is exactly why my drivers side door controls failed. I feel this is a huge safety issue as I don't know if there is a electrical/wiring short and not being able to adjust the side mirrors is an impairment. There was no warning to let me know anything was wrong. The system just went out just that fast. Please advise me how to proceed with my next steps to get this resolved. Also, my low beams went completely out the other day and replacing the bulbs didn't fix that issue. I do have a recall scheduled for January to get the headlights fixed and I'd like them to fix both issues. Thank you.

Yes I was driving on the 65 miles an hour in the passenger lane are carpool lane all the sudden for no reason both curtain airbags just deployed I had my head right next to knock me out cold I didn't proceed over and hit the wall 21 times just skip down in when I came to I thought I was I thought it and other vehicles likely that was not the case did cause some testa injury hurt might pull my car allegedly for my ribcage in got my neck in my head I see this is happened many times the 2008 but yet they keep saying there's no problem that even though it's a 2% lean and exposed the 16 for the role over to kick in that escape screwing everybody yeah the vehicles on the highway going straight no turns no bombs nothing just deployed I have video pictures of the wall it screwed up my rams and of course the 4 wheel drive messed up and show the back axle in the pumpkin so now thats whining so I know it's gonna fail soon power steering linkin truck never lead to drop another with silent at the great v6 in it now the front end steering all screwed up and I can see that it's happened many many times before.
