Having hard steering at low speeds! have read many threads about this! also have had oil being sucked up into engine intake and burned into engine causing premature converter and O2 sensor failure! also have check engine light for p0008 due to crankshaft reluctor moving?.
Tl- the contact owns a 2010 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds the power steering would suddenly malfunction causing the steering wheel to become very difficult to turn. The contact also indicated that the check engine sensor light had illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the power steering mechanism was faulty and the engine coils had malfunctioned. The power steering mechanism was repaired. No further information was available. The manufacturer was not notified. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 65,000. Jft.
I purchased our 2010 Traverse new in September of 2009. We have experienced the power steering failure and replacement 3 times. The power steering gear was replaced at 9500 miles, at 35,000 miles, and now it is out again at 48,000 miles. I have a check engine light that won't go off, now they are telling me my timing chain needs replaced based on the codes detected from the computer. I have tried to get gm, and or a local dealer to work with me on these on going issues, and they could care less.
