1 Transmission Gear Slipping problem of the 2020 Chevrolet Traverse

Failure Date: 01/05/2023

Transmission chatter and slipping. I was not able to secure an appointment before my warranty expired. Attempted to call gm for assistance and they wanted to charge me for diagnosis and could not asure me of any assistance and since I had a different issue with my check engine light due to faulty catalytic converter that was under warranty and I was charged and did not get my money back, I went a different route. The dealer actually wanted to charge me to replace the converter. I had my transmission repaired at aamco $6000. 00. Known issue with these transmissions by manufacturer.

2 Transmission Gear Slipping problem of the 2013 Chevrolet Traverse

Failure Date: 05/14/2020

I purchased this vehicle, 2013 chevy Traverse LS on 5/6/2030, a couple weeks after purchasing the vehicle I noticed the transmission slipping, I brought it back three times to sun used cars, all within my warranty period and they could not duplicate the issue, so now they will no longer fix the vehicle, and I am still having issues with it slipping. I think it may be electrical because when it won't shift and you turn it off and back on again it will shift gears. There is also 4 air bag sensors that are showing up as an issue that started after the relay switch for the locks were fixed.

3 Transmission Gear Slipping problem of the 2018 Chevrolet Traverse

Failure Date: 12/16/2019

Transmission slipping through first and fourth gears, car slow respond, jerking, shudder. Afraid to drive car- because safety issue vehicle-will say put car in drive. When the vehicle is in drive. Vehicle will not go in auto stopped mode. Vehicle roars -to the right when driving right front bad. The dealer told me there is an internal recall on the transmission-they are aware of the issues. They are not making it public-they are just repairing as customers bring them in with complaints.

4 Transmission Gear Slipping problem of the 2018 Chevrolet Traverse

Failure Date: 05/25/2019

Driving late at night with family down a state highway/city street with some stoplights and rotary, vehicle suddenly seems to be intermittently losing power or transmission slipping when driving. When giving gas entering rotary, intermittent slipping/power loss (like a skipping power/slipping transmission) worsened - felt greater loss of power and for slightly longer periods. Noted engine light came on. Worsening intermittent power failure/slipping/hesitation/jerking continued when giving gas to engine for ~1/4 mile until pulled into shopping mall parking lot. Felt lucky to be able to reach lot, called for flatbed tow to dealer. Dealer had vehicle for 1 week, and when assessment complete, reported dtc p0011, p0014, p0021 and p0024 cam codes. They visually inspected with no concerns, test actuator system operating. Search for bulletins revealed document 5251270 with no repair yet for anomaly, which describes "some customers may comment that the ses [service engine soon] lamp is illuminated. This lamp may have come on by itself or in some cases, the customer may experience drivability issues such as a stall, lurch, stumble, hesitation or power loss after an auto stop/restart. " notes technician may find the above listed codes. Cause is listed as "a software anomaly that allows the 'verify sync' status to not restart and reach full 'sync' when the engine restarts. The ecm then reports actual cam positions as '0' while it continues to command the actuators to move resulting in engine roughness and/or drivability concerns (as stated above) with the possibility of setting multiple cam phaser performance dtcs. " instructions on the bulletin are to check and clear codes and return vehicle to customer. Bulletin created on 5/7/2018 with 5 updates since. Brought vehicle back to dealer due to concerns of lack of fix and safety when recurs, dealer unable to replicate.

5 Transmission Gear Slipping problem of the 2016 Chevrolet Traverse

Failure Date: 05/09/2018

I purchased this Traverse brand new in 2016. I now have 51xxx miles. I have had to refill the transmission 3 times since I've had it. But absolutey no leaks. Prior to that I was experiencing weird transmission slippage at ocwerd times. Another quirk is that sometimes when I put gas in my var, the hand does not move at all until I drive maybe 20 miles but it has me wondering. Keep in mind all this weird behavior with no check engine light. The vehicle rattles at 1000 rpm. Like it might be a timing chain. Doesnt always go in to gear. Shows faulty gas gauge. I have yet to hear clicking noises at speeds above 20mph (dont know what that could be).

6 Transmission Gear Slipping problem of the 2010 Chevrolet Traverse

Failure Date: 03/01/2018

There have been so many things wrong with car since we bought brand new in 2010 from the complete fuel system replaced to 3 entire brakes replaced, to transmission slipping, to tracktion stilbility control lights failing, to power steering pump , to faulty control box issues, replacement of window shield wiper motor, air conditioning/heating module. Most of this under warranity or not covered still at all in first 4 years of owning this car. Its literally a pile of junk. So many safety issues that gm wont list as a recall. People have been killed but still fail do anything. The dealer ship here in waldorf MD, to conceal what they did lately to my car in damaging the front shocks and struts wouldnt even get on the phone with a conference call with me instead refused to talk to me and also ban me from the dealership which leads to more suspicion that they are hiding the truth that they did something to damage my car. This is the only dealer in town too. This isn't the first complaint. Dont buy this car. Nothing but problems, a lemon.
