Door Hinge Problems of Chevrolet Venture

This September I came home from my nieces wedding and went to open my passenger side door and it wouldn't budge. . I literally had to kick the door open. It has happened on numerous occasions now, I was told it is a problem in the wiring. The wiring under the floor mats aren't protected enough and become corroded because the floor boards gets wet.

Automatic sliding door on driver side opens by itself. I will close the door using the keyless remote or the button on the inside of door frame but door will reopen. Happens multiple times in a single attempt to close door. Slope of vehicle is not a factor as it will reopen when van is parked on even ground. Cold weather may be factor. There is always a loud "kachunk" as I assume the mechanism is trying to work. To finally get it to stop reopening in single incident, I will engage the lock or will turn off automatic option. Have made numerous calls to dealer and have taken van in twice to be inspected. Each time mechanics are not able to duplicate problem and end up "cleaning" the track and adjusting striker. I am concerned that the door is not latching properly and may pose danger of injury to my small children in accident.

10 year old girl attempted to enter rear passenger sliding (non-automatic) door of 2001 chevy Venture, when the bolts and tracking failed causing the door to fall to the ground cutting her bone in her big toe in half, leaving it hanging on by skin. Doctor's at children's hospital had to realign the bone and reattach her toe. General motors has been notified, but at this time, they are not willing to fix or replace the defective vehicle.

When entering or exiting the vehicle the sliding door would automatically close, trapping the consumer , and causing minor injuries. Dealer notified.

Re-occurring problem with manual sliding doors of 2000 Chevrolet Venture van. Doors come loose and have fallen off their hinges. Vehicle has been repaired, but the door problems continue.

While opening the side door the top hinge broke and door was hanging by the bottom hinge only. The door hit consumer's foot. Ts.

While driving at 20mph the passenger sliding door opened while in motion . It came completely off the track and also caused damage to the moulding inside the van it also frightened my 2 year old who was seated at the door. Fortunately, she was secured in her child safety seat door was in the locked position and the child safety lock was engaged. Chevy denies there is a problem with the van. This matter is a severe safety issue. It should be corrected before some is seriously injured or gets killed.
