2000 Chevrolet Venture. Faulty spot weld in the unibody near the right front corner of the driver seat mount stamping. This has cause approx. A 4 inch tear in the floor pan running from the mount toward the console. There is also a tear spidering on the left side of the same bracket around a weld that is now about the size of a half dollar. The vehicle was never in an accident that I am aware of and I have owned it since 2002. My concern is that if you do not remove the carpet you would not see it. If the vehicle were to be rear-ended the seat bracket may tear the floor more and cause the driver seat to pin the rear seat passengers. I have digital photos of the tears available as well. The failure will require welding of the tear on the floor pan as a minimum.

On occasions the weather stripping on the side power door interferes with the closing and locking of the door. This has on three occasions, has subjected my grandson and pets to being possibly thrown out of the vehicle sustaining serious injuries
the dealer advised us that this was not the best designing but could only replace with an original version of the part. Seems to me that this would be only a bandaid approach to a potentially serious problem. It is my feeling that is should be recalled.

Stared hearing a noise back in December of 2005. Didn't know where the noise or what it was until last week. Looked in the rear view mirror and noticed the window vibrating. On further investigation saw that the window molding was not attached and called the dealer and was told that car was out of warranty and they would charge me to replace molding. Today I noticed the drivers side window starting to make a noise. Haven't had this car two years yet and only 40,000 miles just think that it is wrong for them to not fix this problem. I am afraid to drive this car over fifty miles per hour in fear that the window will fly out and cause an accident. Have there been other complaints of this problem?.
While driving 20 mph then stopping at a red light there was a popping noise. The consumer thought there was a flat tire on the left front. Consumer pulled to the side of the road. Upon inspection he saw that the engine had dropped and was hanging from underneath the vehicle about 2 inches from the ground. Had the vehicle towed to gm dealer for repairs. Basically, the bolts that held the engine mount broke. The dealer suggested someone had done this to the vehicle because the engine completely broke off. The consumer kept vehicle garaged. The repairs were done at consumer's expense. Gm offered no financial assistance or coverage.
July 16, 2005 I was driving my 2001 Chevrolet Venture along my local street smithtown NY when I heard a extremely loud bang. With great difficulty I pulled my car over and contacted my husband. When he opened the hood the engine had fallen out of the vehicle. Upon towing the vehicle to a licensed gm mechanic I learned that the cv knuckle and the rack and pinion steering system snapped when the engine fell. Upon contacting gm/Chevrolet customer service they offered to pay fifty percent of the repair costs, I feel this is unacceptable and they should pay one hundred percent of my repair costs. This vehicle is accident free. An engine should not fall out of a four year old car.
Both sliding back doors molding t loosened and is hung down. Dealer applied glue, and it did not hold. She had to have the molding replaced. Dealer did not got the replacement parts in yet. Dealer only knew about the passenger side, the drivers side just happened today. Manufacturer said to contact dealer.
The front windshield is leaking. It is caused by not having stops in place that keeps the windshield from sliding out of place from top to bottom. We found that we had leak during a rain storm. I had another cars windshield replaced and asked the replacement company to reseal the windshield on my chevy Venture. They stated to me that it was a known defect by chevy and they would not reseal it because the windshield will slide out of place again causing a leak or worse during an accident. My work as paramedic I have seen windshield displace , inward and outward. Does somebody have to be hurt or death caused before a recall takes place ? if chevy knows that this IA a problem why not fix it ?.

I own a 1998 Chevrolet Venture LS van. The headlight assemblies' seals don't keep them from filling from water causing the lights (headlights and turn signals) to short out. Further, due to the knowingly defective assemblies, the headlight crystals pop off (due to the poor seal). This occurred to me while I was driving and I subsequently ran over the crystal spraying debris behind me. In contacting Chevrolet customer service center's toll free number, they said that there is no recall for this defective safety equipment and they don't see a problem with these scenarios. In doing further research, I've discovered that these defective assemblies were very common, Chevrolet has in fact issued a TSB highlighting this commonly known defect, and in talking with a Chevrolet dealership service writer he related that he has seen far more of these problems than he would like to ever see. Does the ntsb consider fully functional headlights and turn signals to be necessary safety equipment? how about headlight crystals flying off vehicles while in operation?.

The top front window seal cracked, which caused water to leak inside the vehicle.
Have returned the vehicle 3 times, for water accumulating in the driver floor board soaking rug during rains, causing a hazard, ie. Foot slipping from the break petal due to the water, plus mildew odor. Current rain, today( 3-15-03) problem still exists, will be returning vehicle (3-17-03) to dealer to fix the problem, 4th time. Very upset. Fyi, dealer claims to have replaced 3 seals and state problem fixed. Untrue, please help. What should we do?.

Vehicle has an oning electrical problem that caused the automatic door locks and control panel cluster to malfunction. The vehicle has also stalled without warning. This could possibly be caused by water leaking into the vehicle through the luggage rack where it connects to the vehicle per a service dealer.
