My vehicle was parked in front of my house, got in it and it would not come out of park. The lights began flashing stating my transmission needed serviced. My transmission had failed and resulted in a total replacement needed. Chrysler cannot verify that the root cause of the transmission failure has been corrected in the replacement transmission.
Hello, my transmission in my brand new Chrysler 200s (2 weeks old) failed as I was traveling about 75 mph straight on the highway. I got a message similar "transmission failed - pull over to the side of the road" and my car began to brake. I pulled over and stopped my car, but the engine would not turn off - it is a push-to-start. I got it towed to the dealership, where they informed me that transmission gave an "offline" message to my engine and shut down. Luckily, there was nobody behind me on the road or there would have been a high-speed collision. After doing a little online research, it appears other people have been having similar issues and this a serious safety concern. I would not put my family back in this car, and other people should be aware of this issue.
While driving on the expressway at approx 65 mph my vehicle cut off without warning. I lost all power. I was able to manuever to the shoulder and then the check engine light and transmission failure light came on. It took several minutes turning vehicle on and off and trying to shift before the vehicle would come on and shift into drive. This occured on two other occassions. The last time almost resulted in an accident because I couldn't get out of the way of cars coming behind me.
The transmisson lunges and delays when shifting. This does not happens all the time but does occur. Once at a stop light, when the light turned green there was no response when I stepped on the gas peddle. After I let up on the peddle and pushed it again there was a response. The delay was long enough to have cars blowing their horns behind me. I fear that the transmission could fail anytime.
2015 Chrysler 200. Consumer writes in regards to transmission problems and other mechanical/ technical issues. The consumer experienced transmission failure. The engine light on the dash illuminated. The vehicle shifted roughly, there was a faulty transfer of power, and the vehicle surged forward unexpectedly and the engine refused to turn off. The consumer was informed the transmission software was adjusted and the problem was solved. However, two days later, the engine light illuminated again. The consumer returned to the dealer and the following day, he was informed the vehicle needed a new transmission. The vehicle was returned to the consumer four days later with the replacement transmission. However, the consumer continued to experience similar problems before the replacement. The vehicle shifted roughly and intermittently, while cruising, and when lightly pressing the gas pedal, the vehicle would seemingly hesitate only to engage after a moment of uncertainty.
The vehicle had two transmission failures where it broke down the first time on the freeway and the second time in the city. Those two transmission failures have not been reported to any car history report agency or the public. This might be putting someone life at risk. I have to say this that we didn't find any of the following: durability, reliability, and safety in the vehicle and those were the reason we didn't dive the car that often.

Purchased this car in the spring, the car had 100 miles. Although the car is an automatic the car was down shifting hard, mentioned this to service where they stated the car was getting used to my driving. I have driven manual transmissions for many years where the transition between gears was far smoother. This continued until around 10,000 miles when engine light finally came on. Transmission completely failed and was replaced. Since then two recalls have been performed and the down shifting issue has worsened. Again told, car needs to get use to my driving as it is all digital. Drove a 2015 Dodge journey while car was worked on for a recall, it had 9,000 miles all digital. . . Had zero issues with down shifting. It is completely unacceptable to have payments on a car that clearly should not be on the road. 1st and last Chrysler I will ever own. I am frequently on the highway with children in the car and do not feel this is a safe vehicle.
