Car Stall problems of the 2016 Chrysler 200

My car is stalling and having trouble to restart I have had more than five occurrances the car was in motion as I slowed down to make a turn does it more when I turn left.

Vehicle stalling while decelerating but restarts.

Vehicle was in motion going up a hill while driving to work . The vehicle stalled and shut off while other cars were behind me . This happen at least three times while driving to work before I decided to take the vehicle to Chrysler for a diagnostic check up . Dealership service department decided to give me a tune up after paying 600 dollars to fix the problem . Several months later I continued to have issues with the vehicle stalling while driving. Later on Chrysler service told me my engine was shot due to anti freeze in the engine oil compartment . Now I have no car and a 6600. 00 dollar maintenance quote to get a new engine .

Car stalls cuts completely off no matter speed when happens you can not operate the. Vehicle I was in the middle of a 5 lane freeway where my car stalled then does I had 2 stop completely there in middle of interstate put the vehicle in park then try to start multiple times before it finally started and 2 just do the exact same not even a minute later and as of now that's all the vehicle will do it's not drivable at all up to date.

Vehicle continously stalls "shuts off" while driving this has happened numerous times, I've had my vehicle towed to the car dealership and then the car starts up again and the mechanic states they can't diagnose the issue unless it happens at the shop. . . This is very dangerous seeing that when I'm driving it's turning off suddenly without warning someone is going to be killed with this type of malfunction. . . . Would have to look at my receipt for the first incident, however it has started again.

Car has shut off while driving last few mornings. It happened in the exact same spot each morning. As soon as I turned onto a road, going 20-30 mph, the car just stalls, says "place in p to start" and then dies. The gearshift and wheel lock up and you have to turn the car off and attempt to restart. Each time I had to try at least 3 times to get the car restarted. All lights come on dash, battery light included, but had battery checked and it is fine. Trying to restart, it doesn't want to turn over. This has happened with several cars behind me and have almost been rear ended because of it. Taking into dealership tomorrow to see what they're going to do. After reading other stories very similar to mine, I'm not very hopeful.

As I am driving car will cut off and tell you to shift the car to park. It then will stall when you try to start it back up. This happened on the interstate and the street while in motion.

The vehicle stalls while in motion, it has stalled 5 times within 10 minutes and I no longer can safely drive it. All occasions were on a city street while braking. The car shows on the dashboard that it is shifting gears even while remaining at one speed and then the system shuts down. It occasionally shifts hard and/or makes an odd noise in the engine.

At times will not start . Engine dies while going down the highway. Transmission loses power then after resting it will go again then out of nowhere it stalls again.

Driving from school car stalled in the middle of interstate. Car read put car. In p. . After doing so it would not start up. . . After a few min I had to hold the start button to start it with foot on brake. . . I pulled off again and when I stopped it killed again with traffic passing me doing 80 mph. . I was so scared with my toddler in the vehicle. Drove home no problem. . Next day same thing stalled. In the middle of the highway! somebody help us . Chrysler is gonna get some one killed. Has been doing this everyday. . I hear many complaints of this and Chrysler does nothing.

Vehicle stalls without notice in the middle of the road. Can't display hazard lights. Must return the car to park and wait a few minutes before restarting. Stalled in the middle of a turn on my wife when taking my toddler o preschool. This is a huge safety concern! this vehicle is going to get someone killed.

On 10/12/18 was driving down a busy highway just started going down a hill and my car lost power and my gear shifter starting blinking in neutral, brake pedal and gas pedal was stuck and push to start would not work for me to restart my car after a few tries I was able to get to turn off and took a couple tries to get it to turn back on. I was stalled and had cars dodging me and swerving in other lanes when they were topping the hill. I went to my dealership and they wasn't able to look at that day and told me they could probably get to it the next following week. While I was driving to the dealership to drop it off with the service department I was at a stop sign stopped with my foot on the brake and it decides to take off on it's on and I had to smash the brakes several times to make it stop in order to not hit another vehicle. It was a pretty traumatic experience for me as I have always took care of that car since I have had it. I never had a recall for my vehicle either. My engine would also skip a few times while driving to my dealership. I have also never had any work done to my vehicle mechanically beside oil changes on a regular basis.

In the last month, my 2016 Chrysler 200 has stalled out while driving without any notice. Upon trying to restart, it struggle to turn over. I have to put in park and wait a few minutes before it will start up again. There is no warning before the car dies either. There was no warning light on the dash to let me know that something is wrong. Each time my car stalled I was on a busy highway and luckily no car were coming or they were able to go around me. I was scared I was going to get hit and killed when my car stalled in the middle of the busy highway. I have read the numerous 2015 and 2016 models have the same safety issue. The 2016 200 needs to be recalled to fix this serious, possible fatal issue of stalling out without warning. Each time this happened to me was when I was at a stop and then stepping on the gas, or when I was at a low rate of speed (approx 10 mph). I have documented the dates and times each time my car has stalled out.

1. Car was pulling into fast food resturant - slowed, it stalled all power was gone. Finally started after about a 10 minute delay. This type of stall has happened three times. 2. Car was slowing for intersection light on the overpass bridge at 127 & m 50. Car stalled. Traffic was backed up, took about 10 minutes to start. This stall on a busy road happened 1 time.

The vehicle will stall while driving causing you to stop, place in park and restart. Upon trying to restart it struggles to turn over. Seems to be happening with the car has sat for awhile and is cold. The temp gauge shows nothing on it. I know the car will stall. If there is a line or more on the temp gauge on the dashboard it doesn't seem to have any issues. The vehicle is also not shifting from gear to gear properly. It seems to not catch when it should go to the next gear. The car will jerk.

Car keeps shutting off randomly while driving. Car is at 36738 miles. I was mid turn and car just cut off and system shut down. Could have been hit by other vehicles but they had enough time to go around car stalled in middle of road. Put car in park and tried to restart 3 times before it came back on.

My car continues to stall while driving on city streets, locking everything up. I have to put the car in park. Press the stop engine button, place my foot in the brake, press the start button,the engine whines, tries to start, winds again then chugs a few times. After doing this over and over again, the car will eventually start. Just to do it again. When I brought my car to the dealer, they told my car was "almost out of oil" after which they had done the last oil change claiming to have used synthetic oil. If that was the case, how does a 2016 car burn 4-5 quarts of synthetic oil and them not be able to tell me why. I see the recall for 2015 200's matching exactly what is happening to my 2016.

The engine in our Chrysler 200 loses oil at an alarming rate. The car eventually stalls and will not restart. We are told every time �no oil shows on the dipstick. It is again in the shop having been towed there because it lost so much oil it would not start. The dealer is defiant because the government has refused to act and recall the 2016 for the same reasons that prompted a recall of the 2015 Chrysler 200. Is it going to take consumer fatalities before the nhsta acts. Tecall these cars now !.

Transmission is slipping and can't seem to get into gear while driving and getting to freeway speeds can't reach a max of 55mph. Have had the car completely stall out on the freeway and put itself into "neautral" while at freeway speeds. Maintenance airbag lights frequently coming on. Chrysler can't seem to find a fix to the issue on why this car is doing what it has been. They keep saying ithe issue is fixed when publicly there is no real fix to the issue and they don't know how to fix the re accruing problem. Little to say, I am deathly afraid of driving this vehicle even down the street to my local grocery store. I work too hard and pay to much for my first brand new car to be having issues like these. I really wish Chrysler would recall all of these vehicles already before someone ends up loosing a life over a faulty lemon of a vehicle.

Bought this 2016 Chrysler 200 s 4 cyclinder in July 2016 with only 4900 miles on it. Car was a dealer program car still under factory warranty. Today, 8/22/2016 at 6157 miles the car stalled while my teenage sons (3 of them) were driving on city streets to school (this is the car they drive everyday). The car stalled while driving three separate times losing all power with a message in the dash reading "shift to p". Once shifted to park the car did start but only after making an odd noise while pushing in the ignition button. Needless to say this is extremely dangerous to have a car lose power while on the road especially with new teenage drivers. Bought this car in large part because of its safety ratings but this clearly is the exact opposite of safe. I will take to dealer in the morning to see what they say. Lots of other complaints about same issue although most seem to be with the 2015 not 2016. Nonetheless, how can one feel safe again putting their children behind the wheel? no idea what caused this issue. The drivetrain does not shift smoothly either particularly when transitioning from reverse to drive when coming to complete stop.
