Failure Date: 05/09/2017

2015 Chrysler 200 driving the vehicle on multiple occasions, at least 10 to count the vehicle has randomly lost power and the engine fails. At this point I'm terrified to drive the vehicle for which I just purchased three months ago on the highway this vehicle would be a death trap. Furthermore the vehicle passenger side airbag light is illuminated indicating that it will not comply I've called Chrysler end the chevy dealer for which I purchase the vehicle and they told me there's no recall and it appears that my warranty will not pay for the car to get fixed.

5 Engine Failure problem of the 2012 Chrysler 200

Failure Date: 12/05/2014

Under normal driving conditions all of a sudden the vehicle accelerates on its own. The engine stalls and loss of steering. The electronic throttle control warning light comes on and blinks, as well as the engine light and the traction control light comes on. Acceleration is only at 20% of what it normay is with itermittent thrust of power followed by engine failure. This lasts for several miles then the problem seems to dissapper. Chrysler has no idea a out this problem with there vehicles and if u take it to an auto repair place. It says says the vehicle is fine when they plug it in. I did some research on this to find out what to do and the I ternet is swamped by people with this car, this same year or around the same year. . . With the same problem. This vehicle is unsafe. Logic suggests that Chrysler wont voluntarily recall this vehicle for financial reasons which is understandable but at the same time I dont wanna die because I cant control this car when it has the above mentioned "episode".

6 Engine Failure problem of the 2011 Chrysler 200

Failure Date: 09/12/2012

The Chrysler 200 engine will stall when coming to a stop or already stopped. The engine fades slowly away and then completely turns itself off. This entire engine failing process lasts for approximately 7 seconds. This engine failure pose a significant safety risk and something needs to be done Chrysler dealership are aware of this issue, but unfortunately don't have an answer for a resolution of it. This issue needs to be looked at much closer and in-depth, since further delays could cause accidents and death. I plead that Chrysler takes responsibility for this problem and commence a recall program of the Chrysler 200 model. I've personally experienced the engine failing 4 times already. I brought it into the Chrysler dealership and have them take a look at it. I had to let the car sit at their shop for 2 days and they did not offer/give a free rental car for me. This car is under 1 year old. Prior to Chrysler I only owned foreign cars because of the perceived notion that american made cars are not reliable. I decided to give it a chance and wanted to buy american, so I got the Chrysler 200. So far that decision has turned out to be a big mistake (unless Chrysler offers a resolution to this problem). I don't want to lose faith in the american car company and hope that they do the right thing.

7 Engine Failure problem of the 2012 Chrysler 200

Failure Date: 06/28/2012

Pulled off interstate after driving for 2 hrs. Into parking lot. Started to pull into parking space and everything thing locked up. No steering, no breaks, everything died except lights on dash. Car was driving fine with no indication of problem. I am told that my car does not fit into the recall for engine failure for this model. Concern with safety as if I had been on interstate going 70mph this would have caused a bad accident.

8 Engine Failure problem of the 2011 Chrysler 200

Failure Date: 10/10/2011

I first got the Chrysler 200m in June 2011. Two days after purchasing I was stopped at a red light and once it turned green I tried to go the car and had no gas, no brakes, and I was unable to put on my hazard lights. The car had completely shut off on me until I placed the car in park, turn the key to the off position, and then restarted the car. My second incident happened when I was stopped at a red light about to take a left. Once the light turned green I proceeded to go and then I had complete engine failure again; while in the middle of an intersection. I lost my gas, my brakes, power steering, my radio shut off, and was not able to use my hazards again. I had to place the car in park and once again restart it for the car to turn back on for me to be able to move out of the way of oncoming traffic. I then brought the car to the dealership where it stayed for one week; they said they were unable to duplicate the problem and therefore couldn't find the cause. The dealership has not given me back the vehicle and requested they drive the car with me to rule out operator error.
