36 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 03/06/2014

The car was filled up with fuel and no more than 2-5 miles from the gas station while driving the engine cut off with no warning while in traffic. Was able to restart the engine and continue on and within a mile it stalled out again in traffic. This time the car would not start. The car was pushed to the side of the road. The oil pressure light was also coming on so did not want to push the car and cause further damage. After 45 mins I restarted the car fine and was able to drive 1 mile before it stalled out at a stop sign. Again no warning and the car lost all power and you were unable to stop the car easily or turn the wheel since all power was lost. The oil pressure light did come on again but did not occur until after the car engine cut off and all power was lost. This time time I checked the oil and the level was fine but I still added an extra quart of oil. Then within 5 mins I was able to start the car and drive it the rest of the way 1-2 miles to the dealership. Upon arriving at the dealership we checked the error coded. The dealership than changed the oil and did a full inspection and drive of the car and was unable to reproduce the issue I was seeing before going to the dealership.

42 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 12/04/2013

For the 5th time in 12 months, my 2006 Chrysler 300c stalled after filling up at a gas station, nearly causing an accident. I previously brought it to a mechanic who did a tune up, new spark plugs, and even replaced valve lifters to try to resolve this issue, to no avail. I finally did a google search and see that many other people have this problem. It is ridiculous to me that this has not been a recall, as it is very dangerous to stall when pulling out into traffic after filling up the tank with gas.

43 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 11/20/2013

My car (300c awd) stalls after fill up. This has happened several times on a trip from California to georgia. I was filling the car three times a day. Moving from the fuel island to the interstate on-ramp the car will die making brakes and steering lose power as well. The car will restart and function correctly until the next fill up or it may stall once or twice again. The condition does not happen when stopping with out filling. I was able to shift into neutral and restart while rolling but this could be difficult in white knuckle situations. There is another condition that may or may not be related: some times when starting to fill up, the gas pump nozzle shuts off due to "splash back" in the car's filler tube. I can remedy this by repositioning the pump nozzle to one side or the other. Once started, I can complete filling the car. My mechanic was at a loss with solving this problem.

44 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 11/17/2013

I was driving to a traffic light immediately after filling the gas tank when the car suddenly stalled. There was loss of steering control. I put the gear in pack and restarted the car which it did successfully but stalled soon after and again restarted successfully. The car ran perfectly till I refilled the tank four days later and had similar occurrence. It happened about a week later, again after another refill. I took the car to the dealer who inspected it and determined there was nothing wrong. The same incident happened a fourth time on 12/17/2013 and it was very worrisome as I was on the ramp trying to merge into a highway when it stalled but I was able to pull into the shoulder. Today again after refilling it happened while driving from the gas station, again, at low speed but later on the highway, at about 55 miles per hour it stalled, the first time it is stalling at such high speed.

48 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 10/10/2013

After filling up with gas at the same place I always do I began to drive home at the first light I was fine at the 2nd light the car stalled I put it n and started the car up and drove home about 1 block. In the morning I started the car up to go to work it ran fine for the first 2 blocks the stalled again. I started it up again and drove to work. I was terrified. After getting it home I thought I would drive it around the neighborhood for a few days to be safe and not go on the freeway. It still hesitated and felt like it wasn't running right. Still wanting to stall. I then parked it for fear of being on the road and it stalling and someone running into me and killing me. With this many complaints about the same thing why is there not a recall on this problem. Are they waiting for someone to be killed first. I did love this car but cant drive something this unsafe. . . . Help.

49 Car Stall problem

Chrysler 300c srt8 2006 stalls after refueling. This has been dangerous for me since I'm just making the connection between the unexpected stalling in intersections and refueling. 52 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 06/17/2013

Car stalls after refueling. Difficult to restart and leaves you in a very dangerous situation. We've had it completely stall going 70 mph down the interstate and almost was involved in an accident while limping to the shoulder. Too dangerous to re-merge after car finally restarts because it will hesitate and misfire or stall again. This will happen about every 2 months with no symptoms between incidents. Also seems to happen more in hotter weather.

The first time it happened I was sitting at a red light waiting to turn left. The car just stalled. I restarted without difficulty. It was a few days after when it happened again. 61 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 08/15/2012

When I fill my gas tank, the car hesitates and stalls for the first 5 to 20 miles on local streets. It happens whether I fill to the automatic shut off or the station "tops off" the tank. After this happened 4 or 5 times, I started to fill the tank to 75% and now it does not happen. It was very scary and unsafe to stall like that. I saw the investigation into the other 2006 Chrysler products and my problem is identical. My dealer had no idea what was wrong with the car and they suggested filling it to 75%.

62 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2012

Car stalls intermittently. Will go weeks or even months without incident but then will stall several times when starting. Using when stalling process starts it will also die upon stopping. Car also will be driving down the street and will not be able to get past 3rd gear. Car will redline at about 45 mph but will not shift out of gear. Occasionally it will shift roughly and typically when gas is let up it will go into next gear.
