Our car is Chrysler 300c awd model year 2006. Currently car has about 46000 miles. Recently without any warring engine stops to work. First incident occurred on December 11, 2013 shortly after we left the gas station were we fill up the tank. We could not restart the car and towed the car home paying fee of $75. Next day the car started and we were able to drive the car. Second incident occurred on December 27, 2013 while driving for few miles right after we fill up the tank. The car stopped without warring on main road. Luckily, we were not in an accident and were able to restart the car and drove to side line. The car is now in our garage but we are unable to drive from fear of being in an accident as we deem the car unreliable. We researched on the web sides and discovered that many other owners of this car model and cars with similar engine train have identical or similar experiences and have filed formal complaints.

I have been told by the Chrysler dealer by me that this is not a problem with alot of 300's but things do happen. . . When I went on line I did find quiet a few people with this problem. We had a problem with the rocker arm assembly, by checking around and seeing so many people with this problem I feel Chrysler should be doing something about this. The car only has 40 thousand miles.

Problem with 2. 7 liter engine. Dealership said it was negligence on my part. Said I didn't do my oil changes correctly, said I would need a new engine. My extended warranty nor Chrysler would cover vehicle. Took it to another auto service shop. They said I didn't need a new motor. They clean out the heads and engine and said that it was not my fault that the 2. 7 liter engine Chrysler engine had these problems from day one. I also was informed that there was others told the exact things, that they were at fault and Chrysler wouldn't pay. The professional tech's of Chrysler also advise against buying this model. Also look on the internet and there were people with 20,000 miles with the same problem told the same thing by Chrysler. Also Chrysler does not offer this engine sizes in the new models because of the problems with the 2. 7 liters. My car was used at purchase and I average about 10,000 miles a year.

42 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 11/06/2010

Vehicle was parked in garage. Had been driven home at 11:30p. M. And woke up to fire in the garage at 1a. M. Entire home and contents were lost. We had to jump from 2nd story windows to escape our home. Fire department and fire marshals felt that fire began in the garage and found it undetermined, but told us that they felt strongly that it was the vehicle. We contacted our insurance company with info we found online that stated the braking problem was being recalled. They stated that they had no information to pursue. Car was also a total loss. Is there anything more we can do to find out why this recall #06v149000 was never sent to us? had we known we would have parked the vehicle away from our home!!!! and would have gladly taken it in for repair that was needed. 44 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 05/12/2010

I bought my car in August 2006 and in October 2006, I had engine lights problems from that date. I took it to the dealership that I bought it at and they would not do anything. This is my fifth complaint and I just had it repaired this year after several other things. It was still under warranty when I first contacted your office. I spoke with someone and they told me that it was covered and to take it I for repair then I had to pay for it myself. That's really sad when you purchase and rely on the company to uphold their warranty agreement. He quit on me on the highway after the the water seal popped and the dealership informed me that it should have never happened and I wrote to you about that and you did not reimburse me.

Vehicle after filling shuts off in traffic or where ever you are within moments and is very difficult to restart, issue has occurred multiple times in heavy flow traffic. Initial time was making a legal u-turn after filing up and returning to traffic flow, vehicle completely shut down mid turn blocking all lanes of oncoming traffic, thank goodness to good defensive driving no collision occurred as did not make turn unsafely in front of on coming traffic.
