There is a recall on this car but Chrysler will not cover repairs be cause it was in an accident car is in very good condition. It is a rebuilt salvage and the registration is in CT. I think they are responsible for repairs because air bag was never deployed on pass side. Far right front and undercarriage on lncident report only. Also control modules for cruise control will not allow you to turn it off short circuit in vehicle wiring . If a rebuilt salvage can be sold to me by a dealer that is unsafe why can't Chrysler stand behind there recalls. Oh the car is in very good condition an I love it. Can you help me please.

In 2018, the cruise control on my 2012 Chrysler 300 limited was acting intermittent. I would press the button it would work and sometimes not. I brought it in to my hemet CA. Chrysler dealership and they replaced the cc switch. Now, 2 yrs. Latter it's happening again. . . I tried it a few times while on the highway/in-city and it didn't work. Later on our way home, I tried it again and it worked. I'm still under warranty, but it costs me $100 every time I bring the car in for a warranty repair; hopefully when I bring it in this time, for the same problem that they were supposed to fix, they won't charge me. . . R/john. . .

Adaptive cruise control frequently fails to work as designed. Vehicle will frequently fail to detect vehicles (in all conditions, and all different types of vehicles) in front of it and not only fail to slow or stop, but instead accelerates. This has required manual braking multiple times to try and stop in time. Additionally the adaptive cruise fails to recognize cars in its lane and will randomly panic brake when there is no vehicle in the lane, it appears picking up a vehicle in the next lane over. This occurs on straight roads as well as curved, with flat as well as varied elevation. Lastly, vehicle threw 3 codes for transmission sensors as well as egr (u0402, u0402pd, and p1dd2) while casually driving. This caused the check engine light to come on as well as vehicle to go into limp mode. This caused a dangerous incident while trying to pass a vehicle. Vehicle is in shop for issue on 4/26.

The adaptive cruise control has been malfunction since I bought the car. It's been in the shop three or more times for it. 2 day ago I record on my iphone as the car started slowing down due to a stopped car ahead of me and then suddenly started speeding up while the car in from was still stopped due to a red light. I don't have pictures but I do have a small video. Please let me know if I can upload that somewhere for you to view. Also my radio reset to all the default station when I turn the car off. The dealer replace the sensor or camera that tracks the acc, but I'm still have the trouble. On the same day I was driving in my neighborhood and I set my acc to 35. I aimed the car towards a parked car, and the acc did not slow down the car, did not flash the brake alarm, or did anything. I had to swerve to avoid a swerve to avoid a collision. Again I have the videos.
The contact owns a 2014 Chrysler 300. While driving 2 mph, the vehicle shifted into park, stalled, and failed to restart. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer (pamby motors Chrysler Jeep Dodge ram, 665 danbury rd ridgefield, CT 06877, 203-403-0115) where it was diagnosed that the engine control module wires melted and the cruise control needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and did not assist. The failure mileage was 189,000.
The contact owns a 2007 Chrysler 300. While driving 70 mph, the abs and traction control warning lights illuminated and the vehicle lost traction control and cruise control ability. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 36,900.
This was the first time I have ever used my cruise control since I have owned my car. I was traveling on a freeway; all of a sudden my car started to lose control. The engine was racing to a high rpm and accelerating. Two warning lights came on immediately, it was difficult to steer, and the cruise control would not disengage even when hitting the brake. While I tried regaining control of my car I tried turning the cruise control off. It would not turn off. I hit cancel on the steering column and it still wouldn't disengage. Finally, I kept braking and pulled off the side of the road. My car, while I had my foot on the brake, continued to rev up. I took my foot off the brake, but the cruise control was still engaged, even with the cruise control light now off, and the r. P. M's continued to be high, so I took the next exit. I put the car in park and turned off the engine for 15 minutes. The two warning lights are electronic stability control and electronic throttle control. The car is still having problems and the cruise control comes on after 40 mph on its own and the warning lights come on.
The contact owns a 2005 Chrysler 300. The contact stated that the malfunction warning indicator illuminated on the instrument panel. While driving approximately 65 mph with the cruise control activated, the cruise control independently deactivated. The contact had to maneuver to the side of the road and the vehicle stalled. The malfunction warning indicator was no longer illuminated. The vehicle restarted after a few minutes and resumed normal operation. The vehicle was driven to the dealer and they could not duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the failure occurred three other times. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 125,000.

Bought this car in 2012; when I bought it the dealer had just had the cruise control fixed (switch replaced?) later that year the cc quit working again; so I got it fixed ( replaced) again under warranty. Then about February 2015 the cc quit again. Then when I had the car at the dealer I told them it didn't work and they tested it and aid it worked. Well now 4/20/15, the cc quit again; anad has not worked all week. Very inconvenient because I don't want a speeding ticket. Basically it has worked on and off. I am hoping it starts working again because I don't want to have to pay and take the car to a dealer again. I hope to hear back about this but basically the switch for the cc has been replaced at least twice and is not reliable. Otherwise I love my car.

Vehicle was in cruise control mode set at 70mph. Vehicle in front of mine was going slower my vehicle slowed down automatically as it is designed to do. I proceeded to left lane to pass the other vehicle (truck) as I began passing my vehicle accelerated to a speed of over 85mph without my touching either the gas pedal or the res button of the cruise feature. I then had to cancel the cruise control feature and brake the car to slow down. It was terrifying. This happened more then once during my trip. I had the vehicle into Chrysler before because the computer turned the heated seat feature and heated steering wheel feature on without my touching the buttons. The car was reprogrammed to correct this problem and I am wondering if the reprogramming affected the cruise control feature.
The contact owns a 2013 Chrysler 300. The contact stated that while driving 5 mph, the vehicle accelerated independently. The contact also stated that the brakes and the cruise control button failed to stop the vehicle. The vehicle was shifted into neutral in order for the vehicle to come to a stop. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 540.

The contact owns a 2014 Chrysler 300. The contact stated that the cruise control function failed to work when applied. As the failure progressed, the cruise control activated without warning and the contact had difficulty shutting it off. The warning lamps also illuminated for the abs and stability traction control. The vehicle was difficult to shift gears and the contact had to place the vehicle into reverse versus drive several times while experiencing the failure. The contact shut the vehicle off and back on, but the warning lamps continued to flash intermittently. The dealer was notified of the cruise control failure and was not able to replicate and diagnose the failure. The vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 14v634000 (electrical system) and was waiting beyond a reasonable timeframe for the part to schedule the recall repair. The contact continued to experience the failures. The VIN was not available. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The failure mileage was not available.
2012 Chrysler 300. Consumer writes in regards to hazardous vehicle electrical system failure.
The forward collision warning (fcw) does not work. Info I have received is that fcw was part of the adaptive cruise control (acc) and only works as part of that system. The Chrysler manual does not say that the acc has to be on for fcw to work. Fcw is a completely different topic from acc in the manual. Fcw is supposed to work when you come up behind a car even without the acc on. In my car the fcw activates at times when the acc is off and it picks up something on the right such as a car in front of me turning right onto another road. Other manufactures such as Ford and Hyundai have fcw that works without the acc on. While not relieving the driver from needing to brake, fcw is a safety feature I paid for, and I want it to work. I have made several trips to two different dealers to try to get the fcw fixed with no success .
I was traveling north on hwy I-81 in state of virginia with the cruise control set on 70 mph which is the speed limit. I was traveling in line with the traffic I. E. , several vehicles in front of me, several vehicles behind me, and several semi-trucks on my right lane, all as a group, no one passing anyone, but in close proximity to each other, ie. , the vehicle in front of me was approximately 4 to 5 vehicle spaces in front of me, the ones to my rear were approximately 2 to 3 vehicle spaces, and the semi-trucks were right in line with me one behind the others in close proximity to each other. I was stopped by a state trooper who stated that I was traveling at 85 mph in a 70 mph zone and wanted to know if there was a reason for that. I explained that I had no reason since I had my cruise control on 70 mph. He gave me a traffic citation for reckless driving. Upon my return to kentucky, I took my vehicle in to my dealer to have the speedometer and cruise control checked. My dealer's technician could not replicate the problem. They ran a 23 point check (whatever that means) and could not find anything wrong. I believe that there is a problem between the cruise control and the speedometer. Either they are not synchronized or there is a problem with an electronic sensor or something like that. I would like somebody knowledgeable with problems of this nature to investigate to see what caused this. I will not use the cruise control again until someone guarantees to me that there is absolutely no problem here.

In October of 2997, I purchased a 2006 Chrysler 300 brand new. After driving it for a few months I realized that the cruise control light that was supposed to be on the instrument panel was not illuminating. Upon taking the car to the dealer for repair, I was told that chrylser replaced the light on the instrument panel with a small light on the control stalk that operates the cruise control. I have to question whether this replacement is a safe situation. I cannot see the light on the stalk without leaning forward to see over the steering wheel hub. I would think that the purpose of the light on the instrument panel would be to constantly remind the driver that the cruise control is on. If the driver cannot see the light, the value of it is lost, and the vehicle can be operated in a less safe mode then intended by the NHTSA. I ask whether the NHTSA approved chryler's repositioning and redesign of the cruise control light. If the change did not receive the proper approval, I am asking that a recall order bb issued, forcing Chrysler to install the cruise control light where it was originally designed to be positioned. I really doubt whether the current design meets federal motor vehicle safety standards. You would have received this letter sooner, but the u. S. Postal service returned by letter twice, claiming the address on your web site was incorrect. Thank you.
