Car shut off while driving, there was a strong gasoline odor coming from underneath the vehicle, turned back on after a few minutes, gas cap light came on, went to autozone to run scanner and got code p0440, checked all evap components and lines and noticed something loose on top of fuel tank, rollover valve popped off and there was fuel all around it. . . I'm lucky there were no sparks from anything, had a full tank!.

Vehicle stalls while driving. One night while slowing down from 70 mph to 55 mph vehicle hesitated but did not stall, check enginge light came on and went off. Next morning vehicle stalled while sitting at a stop sign, restarted and then stalled again after less then two blocks. Took it to mechanic he could not find anything wrong, vehicle drove fine for a few days, then stalled again. Called Chrysler customer service and was instructed to take vehicle to dealer and tell them about x-53 warranty. Dealership checked vehicle and stated it was infact the fuel tank and would order the replacement. Told me I was in line to recevie a replacement but they only receive one replacment fuel tank every 14 business days. Car was driving fine for 2 weeks now it's stalling again, does not matter amount of gas in tank car stalls at different speeds and when coming to a stop. Contacted Chrysler to see if there was anyway the shipping/ordering of tanks could be increased and this time they tell me my vehicle is not covered under the extended warranty and I had to pay out of pocket if I wanted to have the vehicle repaired. Can this case be re-opened to look at all Chrysler 19 gallon fuel tanks not just the ones on the x53 extened warranty listing. Thanks.

On January 8, 2014 at approx 2:45 pm I filled up with gas and continued home 1 block, as I entered my underground parking garage my car stalled, as I started it up, I heard liquid, I attempted to drive it in the garage to check it out, however it kept stalling. I called my mechanic and he came the next morning to check it out, and managed to get it to the shop. It took 2 days to figure out what was wrong, no code came up as it was checked via computer. It turned out that the rotator valve attached to the gas tank was stuck/broken and required a new gas tank, the gas went into the charcoal cannister, also needed to be replaced and 2 new fuel pumps as well. I researched the internet and have seen hundred if not more complaints about the same issue happening to others, this cost me $2400. 00 just for getting gas. I also saw issues reported for the inner tie rod and that was confirmed bad by my mechanic as well and had to be replaced. I have attempted to call Chrysler several times leaving a message and to date have not received a call back. I feel this was not some small routine repair bill and with the amounts of complaints with the same issue, chyrsler should of made the repairs or reimburse the damages, numerous years of this model and several other Chrysler Dodge makes and models have had the same complaints-maybe a recall should of taken place. I would appreciate this being looked into if there is any option for a reimbursement in regards to this matter. Had I continued to drive on the route 62 at 45mph this could have caused an accident as I stalled driving.
