Power Steering Light On Problems of Chrysler 300

Tl- the contact owns a 2014 Chrysler 300 touring. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the steering wheel would lock as the power steering warning light would illuminate on the instrument panel. The contact then took the vehicle to an independent mechanic to have the vehicle inspected. The contact's mechanic had driven the vehicle and informed him that the steering wheel would lock intermittently upon depressing the brake pedal. The power steering warning light would also illuminate on the instrument panel when the failure occurred. The mechanic had diagnosed the vehicle with power steering failure. Steering has felt "sticky" for about a week. It is difficult to turn the steering wheel at all, and it would get stuck in certain positions so I physically couldn't turn or change directions. The problem wasn't too bad at first, but then got extremely bad as of 08/07/2019. Steering was almost impossible, and the steering wheel would get stuck n almost every turn, making driving almost impossible, and very dangerous. As of 08/09/2019, the steering wheel is almost constantly stuck, and requires extreme force, or slamming on the brakes to turn or change directions at all. Even slight turns are difficult and dangerous. The car is now completely unsafe to drive, and has swerved off the road several times, and even scraped a divider because the steering wheel was locked into place and couldn't be corrected. These were all while driving, driving on the highway, steering was slightly easier. But that is where the crash with the divider happened. Driving on city streets was more difficult because there are more turns and they are sharper. This is now completely impossible. When the car is stationary, or in park, the steering wheel is locked in place and can't be turned.

I came to a stop at a four way intersection. I accelerated to turn at about 5mph instead of the car turning the steering locked up for about 1-2 seconds. Then drove normal until I got to my destination which was a few minutes away & turned the car off. I got off the car & went into the store. Went I finished shopping I returned to the car & tried to start it up. It would not start & steering wheel & brakes were locked. The power steering light, stability control & brake lights would blink & say service engine. About an hour into this I tried to turn the car on. It turned on but the steering wheel was barley turnable I tried to move it a few inches. For the wrecker service personal once I moved it the cars steering was back to normal & working. I plan on taking it to the Dodge dealership tomorrow morning. I just really hope this does not happen again while driving at a high speed.
