1 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 12/28/2020

My 2006 Chrysler 300c stalls at stop lights. Going 30 miles and higher the tac will drop to zero and with in seconds the car will jerk and it's running again. When the car dies all the dash lights flash off and on, the check engine light, the lighting bolt, all of them and when it's done doing this. The check engine isn't on. So you can't get a code to read. Dec. 28 2020 my wife went to the store and she had our grand daughter in the car. She went to make a left into the shopping center when the car died. The on coming car had to serve to keep from hitting her. I've been to the dealer and they can't figure it out. Been to three mechcanics and they can't figure out the problem. If you go to any Chrysler 300c forums, there are a lot of people having the same problem. They have the same answer dealers and mechcanics don't know what the problem is. Car complaints has 45 complaints alone. This is very serious. If it hasn't happened yet, it will. This problem is going to get someone killed or hurt real bad.

3 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2005 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 01/06/2020

Whenever I do a quick acceleration, my check engine light comes on and the car temporarily lose power. When the car lose power, I cannot control it, which is very dangerous. When the check engine light comes on no codes are stored. Also, I have experience this problem while sitting at a red light. For the most part, this problem mostly occur during acceleration. I have had the spark plugs replaced and throttle body cleaned but the problem presist. From my research, this problem appears to be regular throughout the Chrysler/Dodge family. This problem needs to be rectified before someone lose their life in an unnecessary accident.

8 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 04/22/2017

My 2006 Chrysler 300c srt8 6. 1l engine stalls randomly when stopped, coming to a stop or cruising speed. Sometimes it'll take months for reoccurrence then out of nowhere it happens while, engine stalled. Happens while make a turn at a light also. Starts back up and sometimes stalls instantly. After like the third stall check engine light comes on and the only fault code is p0700. Bought the car in 2015 and less than two months later is when I experienced my first occurrence. Took it to the dealership three times that year and they said they could not duplicate the problem or figure out what's wrong. About five months later (2016) it happens again, engine stalls out of nowhere on the freeway. This time it wouldn't start so I had it towed back to the dealership. After two months of them having my car they said it was the transmission control module so I agreed to replace it. Two months later same thing again so obviously the transmission control module wasn't the problem. Might I add that randomly while driving there is a hard "buck" from the transmission, like it wants to lock up. I've been in and out of the dealership with this problem for two years now and Chrysler claims to not know what the problem is. I am terrified every time I'm in this vehicle. I feel it is an accident waiting to happen. I'm still paying for this car but need to know what the issue is and how to solve it. Dealership says there is no recalls or updates available for my car.

9 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 09/01/2016

The check engine light of this cars constantly stayed on after countless attemps to "fix" the problem for years. Finally the engine just died. It was serviced repeatedly, with tune ups, spark plug changes, but the engine always misfired shorlty after. The car is just 10 years old. There should never be a problem like this on a high quality vehicle.

10 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 12/12/2014

After fueling my car to full tank capacity (93 octane as always) I pulled out of the gas station and slowed down to stop at a red light (traveling at less than 10 mph). The engine stalled as I came to a full stop. I placed the transmission in park and re-started the engine. Engine started fine and I drove for about 5 miles with no further issue. Note: check engine light did not come on and all other dash indications were normal. After parking the vehicle I inspected the gas cap and verified that it was secured tight and not loose. Also checked under the fuel tank and engine compartment for anything out of the ordinary. Did not see or smell anything obvious.

11 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 08/20/2014

Purchased a 2006 300c srt8 in 2014. This is the 2nd time that this has happened. After the 1st refueling the car stalled and bucked and then after a few miles calmed down. I thought perhaps it was bad gas. During the 2nd refueling, with 93 octane, and just as the fuel clicked off, the engine stalled. No check engine light in either situation. The car was worse than the last time. The car stalled at each light all the way home. This happened approximately 4 times and then it stalled again as I parked it in my driveway. I called the local dealer concerning this and they said they are only ordering 6 replacement gas tanks a month and that 95% of the time an additional flex pipe or tube breaks during the repair procedure and that I would be responsible for this additional cost. What kind of a deal is that? I thought warranty work was to be at no cost to the consumer.

12 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 09/18/2013

13 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 08/29/2013

On 8/29, I picked my car up from the dealership for a repair to the body. When I attempted to start the vehicle, it turned over but would not start. After several attempts, I went back inside and made the service manager aware. He came out and after a few tries, it started. They told me they didn't know what was wrong with it but that it seemed to be fine so I could take it. I started the vehicle with no issue and took it to a nearby gas station to fill it up. After filling it up, it would not start. The vehicle was towed back to the dealership. It was at the dealership from 8/29 to 9/26. During that time, the battery was changed, the evap canister was replaced and the gas tank was replaced. When I went to pick te vehicle up on 9/26, it would not start. After several attempts and pumping the gas while turning the ignition, the vehicle started. I am now only able to start the vehicle if the gas pedal an pumped while the key is being turned. The vehicle has also attempted to stall several times since I got it back and doesn't have the power it had when I bought it. I have also smelled gas while driving immediately after accelerating. My check engine light is now on also. The dealer has requested that I bring the vehicle back to them and I fear that it will be there another 4 weeks and return to me in the same or even worse condition!.

On 3 separate occasions immediately following filling with gas, the engine died within 2 blocks of the gas station. No check engine light was displayed on any of the 3 occasions and the car was extremely difficult to restart, requiring at least 30 seconds. Also, after restart on all 3 occasions, the engine ran very rough for 1-2 miles and then ran smoothly. On 1 of the occasions, the car died the next day after only driving a few blocks from home. After the first occurrence, the spark plugs were changed, the throttle body was cleaned, the vapor canister was replaced, and the evaporation system solenoid was replaced. 16 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 09/18/2012

Car stalls immediately after filling up. I switched filling stations, brands and octanes. Continued to have problem. After a few gallons were used, the stalling went away each time. Problem now continues while stopped at traffic lights, traveling at low speeds, or no pressure on the throttle. While moving it will stall, the engine light will come on and "ding", then when I pump the throttle it will catch itself and the car will jerk hard and accelerate again. At traffic lights once it stalls, it will require using the key to restart. I took the car to the dealer twice for the problem, the last time in Aug 2013, the check engine light had stayed on. They reset the codes and could not duplicate the problem.
