I had my two young boys in the car at the time when it happened and I urged them to get out of the car immediately my young son has a fear from now on on getting in vehicles. There wasn’t any issuing warning lights that prompted any awareness. Initially started the car to run and get the juices flowing - seeing the car was parked. 5 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 04/14/2023

While driving my Chrysler when I stop at a red light or stop sign the car will simply stall out and die so I put it back in park and recrank it and sometimes it'll die immediately after that and sometimes it'll wait till the next red light or until I'm making next stop. And when the car is in park it'll stall out I'll simply have to crank it right back up sometimes it'll stall out immediately after that and sometimes it'll run for a minute or two and then stall out. But as long as I got my gas my foot on the gas while I'm breaking at the same time it won't die.

6 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 04/08/2023

Yesterday I experienced an sua incident and nearly lost my life. I was entering a freeway and began to accelerate my car. Suddenly I felt as if the gears kicked and the car began to accelerate on its own to max revolutions. I pressed down on the brakes to see if it would stop and there was heavy resistance. I took my foot on the break and the car began to accelerate and rev completely on its own and the engine felt as if it was going to explode. I luckily was able to jam my foot on the break and pull over to the emergency lane and eventually come to a full stop. From there I put the car in park and removed my foot from the break pedal. Again the car began to jump to full revs with the engine screaming. I turned the car off and on several times and this continued to happen. After waiting one hour I was able to start the car and drive 20 mph back to my home and I will have it towed to a repair shop shortly. If I panicked or was not strong enough to press down on the brake pedal, the car would have accelerated to full speed and I certainly would have died and likely other people would have too.

7 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 03/09/2023

The first time I was on the highway and then engine just stalled out on me during rush hour traffic is was almost rear-end by a simi truck I got off the highway and get the car started and then when I was at a stop sign and I started to make my left hand turn I was about half way into my turn and it sallied out again with traffic coming from both directions and it didn't want to start thank god that the oncoming car tired off and then other was able to slow down enough to go around me as I am scared to death that I was going to be hit due to the car stalled out and left me sitting in the middle of the road our car has left me twice now at the same intersection as I was making my turn these are not the only times that it's stalled out on us I am not comfortable driving our car as with it stalling out 3 time's in a 2 day time that put my life and others in danger something needs to be done about this issue before someone gets killed due to the sudden stalling we live out in a rural area with no other transportation so we need our car and depend on it and can't afford to get a new car this is a very serious issue that needs to get addressed ASAP.

8 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Everytime I fill the gas tank the car stalls out several times and then stalls when deceleration and turning.

9 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 12/27/2022

Car stalls out when driving. Almost was rear-ended, broadside, front ended and sideswiped too many times to note! have new gas tank per recall. Still stalls. Dealership has witnessed stall but can't locate problem and charges me 150. 00 for useless diagnostic test and still not able to find stalling problem. Dealership doesn't care. Laughed at me. Had it in shop several times. Nothing. I'm disabled and on fixed income. Dealership attempts to have me purchase new vehicle. I can't afford one! stalls out when turning, stopped and while maintaining consistent speed. Can't fill up gas tank or stalling is worse. Can't let tank run under 1/4 full or stalling. I'm barely able to drive anywhere due to fear of stalling and getting hit. Chrysler seems to not care. I told service manager that if I or someone else is hurt or killed its their fault for not fixing or caring about owners of this car. Death and injuries are going to happen cuz this is so dangerous and horror filled! I don't know what else to do. My beautiful 300 is not safe. I am basically carless. This has been going on for almost 4 years with no resolution or kindness. I almost was hit by a gravel truck when attempting to push car out of road! im disabled!!! I can't go anywhere without being afraid it will stall at anytime for no reason. Dealership has checked repeatedly and diagnosis tests and even left car at dealership for days and still no resolution. They really don't care. I once loved Chrysler and now I am full of fear and anger that Chrysler doesn't care. There is numerous complaints about the same problem. Dealership did suggest I have a full tune up at several hundreds dollars! ha! said a tune up will not fix it and nothing showed on diagnosis a need for tune up. Car runs beautiful when not stalling! my heart is broken. What's the point of charging me 150. 00 for nothing? then laugh when car stalls as I leave dealership. Guess that's how poor people are treated.

Failure Date: 09/14/2022

The car engine just stops when in idle or while driving . I have almost been rear ended several times on the highway and on the city streets. The engine just stops running and the car shuts down. The car had a recall for the tank and fuel o ring which was suppose to fix the problem but it did not brought it to the dealer again had it replaced again problem still existed . Went back to the dealer they said they could not duplicate it then I drove it it stopped and I turned around and brought it back then they duplicated it . I have been replacing parts that have nothing to do with the stalling problem. It is currently in the dealer as we speak. This problem started when I had 64000 miles on it then it progressively got worse.

12 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2005 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 07/24/2022

When the fuel tank is topped off the vehicle stalls 2-6 times until the excess fuel is burned off. This has happened on the road, in parking lots, intersections, etc. It causes total loss of power & power steering. Additionally, I usually have to shift to park, neutral, reverse, drive, reverse, and then drive again in order to get the transmission to lock back in forward gearing. Causing me to have to additionally pull over, or stop, when/wherever the incident occurs.

Just turned 200k miles well maintained car. #7 lifter stuck with a bang. Eng light came on with codes. This is a known issue for this build. Car can be turned over to manufacture for investigational and safety to see their engineering from 2006 mds systems. Longevity research.

16 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 07/27/2021

My car broke down in a parking lot (drove there completely fine and the heat gauge didn't read the car was overheating). I got my car towed to bryants automotive in redding CA. The cars upper radiator hose fell off causing my engine to overheat. 0 check engine light, 0 codes shown. I was quoted 10k, and I am basically screwed because I dont have that kind of money. Very disappointing and I would like an investigation into this issue.

20 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 03/15/2020

I was driving at 70mph 2:30 am on the highway at night right before a curve the headlights shut off due to the main computer tpim. In essence it kills all auto features immediately including the headlights. It's a common problem with these cars just look on some of the forms online. I'm upset because my wife could have been driving the car at the time. Chrysler should be held accountable sense it's an issue with this car in general. They also have issues with the lifters due to the poor quality of the lifters rollers and the mds system.

21 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2007 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 02/24/2020

Purchased this car few months ago. Monday Feb. 24th, 2020 I was sitting inside my car when suddenly I notice a fire in the engine. I immediately grab my wallet and phone exited the car and called 911. The firemen came (fire was out by that time) . I had car towed to dealership (4460 mchenry Ave, modesto CA 95356 central valley Chrysler, Nissan) they had car for couple of days and today called me in to tell me that a rod shot through the oil pan (I assume it occurred after fire started because I did not hear anything prior to fire and was not driving car when fire started). They tole me that it needs a new engine but they need to do more research on car and go into engine (which I guess is a big task). They tell me that if they determine that they must replace engine at their cost (upon buying car dealership told me I could only get financed for car if I purchased a 24 month warranty which I did). They then advise me that this job of just looking into engine is $4,200. 00 and that I must pay them this amount prior to them doing their exploratory work on engine. They tell me that if I did nothing to cause fire (that is crazy to think I somehow in very short time as owner caused car to just catch fire out of the blue while sitting in it parked) that they will replace the engine with a used one. I feel as though a used engine may force me to go through this again and I was fortunate as if fire were to travel through gas line I would be dead right now. I believe they want to force me to pay this money up front and then try and tell me it is my responsibility to pay for everything, nullifying my warranty just so they do not have to honor their legal obligations.

22 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2011 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 01/31/2020

The problem I have is with the engine coolant system and the vehicles electrical system the cooling system is not operating the way that is supposed to be in the electrical system keeps malfunctioning the check engine light keeps coming on and off the car is not idling the way that is supposed to be idling I’ve already replaced the humidity control module three timesand when I’m on the highway if I go to fast the front of the car start shaking.

23 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 11/23/2019

After filling the car with gas, the car starts without any issues and drives off without any problems. As the car slows down whether stopping or turning the car will shut off. In the middle of a turn the car veers into the other lane because there is no power steering. The car has to stopped before it can be restarted. Also if you are entering the interstate after refilling with fuel, the vehicle will reach the desired speed without any problems to merge into traffic, after merging into traffic as soon the desired speed is reach and the motor slows, the car motor will shut off in traffic. This scenario will continue until some gas is burned out of the gas tank. Afterwards the cars runs fine. I took the car to the Chrysler dealership several times and they could not find anything wrong. They did not charge me for the inspection because they could find anything wrong.

24 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 07/31/2019

When fuel tank is filled beyond 3/4 of a tank the engine stalls. I've been in many scary situations where this happened. I bought a new car because I was scared to drive this one. Upon learning there was an issue I contacted my local dealer who said a new fuel tank would be ordered and I would be contacted the next week to have it installed. 2 weeks later I contacted them and was told they had to diagnose the problem. After discussing the issue the dealer assured the tank was being ordered. Hopefully the problem will be fixed with the replacement tank - it remains to be seen. Why is this not a recall? it is a safety issue when a car stalls while being driven. Age of the vehicle should not be a factor - this car only has 66,000 miles. I am the original owner.

26 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2011 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 05/27/2019

Hello, I am currently having a problem with my 5. 7 hemi in my Chrysler 300. I am facing issues with the notorious hemi tick and it has gotten obnoxiously loud and annoying especially when parked against a building or on start up. The hydraulic lifters on the 5. 7 engines are known to fail whether its in Dodge Chrysler or ram vehicles the vehicles runs perfectly fine, idles perfectly fine. I have never once had a problem with the vehicle except for the lifters that I'm soon going to have to change which in result may have even damaged my camshaft. My vehicle has 83k miles on it and feels like it could go a lot longer if myself and other v8 owners under Chrysler didn't have the hydraulic lifter/ camshaft failures costing $1000s of dollars in parts and labor.

27 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2014 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 03/29/2019

I was on the 215 freeway in heavy traffic when all of a sudden my car lost power-icoasted dangerouly to the side of the freeway, a warning light "electronic throttle control" came on. After awhile it went off. As soon as I got back on the freeway it happened again. The second time I almost got hit by several other vehicles. After awhile the warning light went off and I resumed driving. I took my car to the Chrysler dealer in temecula CA and after inspection they said it was my fault because I hit the accelerator while my foot was still on the brake or vice-versa. And so they charged me $183 to tell me that. This has never happened with any car I have driven. The dealer says its an issue with the newer 300 models. No warning anywhere in manual or car. This is a life-threating issue that must be addressed and Chrysler motors is ignoring it. Please do something about this serious issue. A recall must be made before someone is killled!.

Car started miss firing one cold morning. Shakes at low rpm and throws a cel. Barely over 100k miles and it ticking very loudly which makes me believe it is the rocker arms. Now instead of being covered the cost to repair I have to pay out of pocket on a car I am still financing. Simply ridiculous , never owning a Chrysler ever again.

29 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2013 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 11/20/2018

On more than 20 occasions, while traveling at speeds in excess of 60 mph, the vehicle abruptly shuts off. Everything is completely off. Engine, powertrain, power steering and power brakes. Sometimes there's a warning light that flashes after the shut down that looks like a reddish orange sideways z lighting bolt. The check engine goes on sometimes and other times it does not. When it goes on it sometimes stays on and sometimes it disappears. I've had 2 Chrysler dealers and 1 independent mechanic run diagnostics and no one can pinpoint the problem. So far, I've replaced the throttle body, hanged the transmission fluid and pan, and had the fuel system cleaned. I'm being told that maybe it's the fuel pump or the power train control module. The shit has only occurred at highway speeds so far. Thankfully, I've been able to pull off on the shoulder every time. That may because I avoid roads with no shoulders and only drive in the right hand lane. This is obviously a very dangerous situation and has rendered the vehicle unsafe for highway driving. I've discovered a current Chrysler recall, u87 that appears to be exactly my symptoms, but my Chrysler dealer could not find a code that proved it.

30 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2005 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 10/14/2018

The main grounding wire passenger-side engine block contact point had corrosion(rust) limiting electrical current flow to the wiring harness. This caused too much current to flow to 2 smaller 16 gauge grounding wires attached to the rear of each hemi cylinder head to fry. This directly affects the ccn bus communications to the cpu. Any device, module, or sensor attached to the ccn bus can have intermittent behavior. Examples of very bad behavior in my car: 1. The alarm randomly going off while parked or when driving the car. 2. While parked and the alarm set the sunroof decided to open up during a rainstorm filling my car with 3 inches of rain. 3. The 300c doesn't use a throttle cable. It utilizes a throttle position sensor that communicates with the cpu over the ccn bus. Just touching the gas pedal was the same as pressing the gas pedal to the floor. It's a good thing that when this happened to me there was no traffic on the road and I was close to home. Since this is ccn 2-wire twisted pair bus communication issue anything that communicates with the cpu can have a random intermittent problem. Since these cars are getting older I have to think that there are other cars that are or will have similar issues. Pray to god that your throttle doesn't stick wide open like mine did. I had to keep my foot buried on the brake while I was screaming down the road until I was able to turn off the ignition. Have fun coming to a stop or driving home after that happens. Formally I was an i2c bus communications(2 wire bus) expert at both intel corp and cisco systems. I know what I am talking about. Today I talked with a bremerton Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep technical service representative about this issue. Bottom-line over $3000 to fix. There may have been somebody somewhere that is dead because of this factory defect and no one is the wiser. Why not a factory recall issue?.

33 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2007 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 07/12/2018

Came out of the store to start the car. It wouldn't start. Engine made a coins shaking in can noise. Had towed to a service center, they asked if it had overheated, I said no because it hadn't shown any signs it had. They said it got so hot things melted and valve seats and pistons were ruined. I've read about Dodge Jeep and Chrysler hemi 5. 7s and valve seats and many people had this exact same problem with no sure reason as to why. I believe there is some defect in the engine itself causing this and extended warranty's won't cover claiming because valve seats aren't an internally lubricated part or some bs reason. Needs immediately looked into I'm about to lose my car over it!.

34 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2005 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 03/26/2018

My Chrysler 300c has 114,805 miles on it. I drove it to the gas station before going home. Filled it up with gas. Went to start it up and it wouldn't. I had to have it towed to the shop. The outside temperature last night was 63. The engine temperature was normal. There were no warning signs. The car drove fine all the way from my office to the gas station which is 33 miles. Mechanic says the valve seat has dropped and the engine is completely ruined now. I now have to pay almost $7,000 to get my car driveable again.
