1 Engine Shut Off Without Warning problem of the 2005 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 12/28/2018

A couple months back the engine shut down going down the road, computer checked showing the heat sensor went bad ,had it replaced and also installed a new thermostat just in case. Yesterday 12/6 2018 took the car out and went to the outlets roughly 25 miles away car ran great . Stop for gas on the way back a mile from home, left the station went a 1/4 mile the car shut down again, started right back up went another 1/2 mile and it shut down again, started right back up and went 1/4 mile to the house. Had my son in law who is a mechanic do a computer check and nothing shows up. Car has 38777 miles on it and garage kept, little dangerous since u loose the steering and brakes when it shuts down, fortunately for me I had a place to pull over to get off the highway. Checking with the dealership tomorrow to see if others had this problem. Had a very similar problem with my chryler crossfire years back where the car would not accelerate had some close calls at stop signs had to replace the complete acceleration unite had less than 4000 miles on the car but the car was out of warranty cost me over $300 but the engine didn't shut down like this one. Was on a town street when it shut off.

3 Engine Shut Off Without Warning problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 10/24/2017

I was driving on freeway and all of a sudden the engine completely shut off losing all power. I was almost rear-ended as I drift to the side of the road. I turned key to off position and turned back on and it started. Then as I was driving again the engine started lurching and stuttering and the engine shut off then turned back on. This happened 4 more times. This morning on my way to work it did it again turned off on freeway almost causing an accident at 70 mph. I see online there are many complaints of same issue. I called the chryselr dealer and they would not even listen to the issue but offered a $1800 fix, same fix that is recorded online that doesnt work.

4 Engine Shut Off Without Warning problem of the 2007 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 11/02/2015

While driving the vehicle, making a right-hand turn the vehicle stopped running, with no warnings on the dashboard. It just shut off. While attempting to pull out of the garage one morning the vehicle lost steering to the right side of the car. The car was taken to a reputable mechanic who kept it for two days and could not find anything wrong with the it. The vehicle has had numerous times when it DE-accelerates while turning to the right. On a couple of occasions the car actually stopped. Each time the vehicle has been checked out I have been told that no problem registers and cannot be diagnosed unless they mechanic can get it to duplicate. Now, the car will not turn over. It drove fine, I got home parked it in the garage and was getting ready to leave again, got into the vehicle to start it up and it will not start. No messages on the dashboard. The lights turn on yet it will not turn over. At least this time when everything went haywire I was safely home and not on the street, or highway driving as I have been in the past. This has happened on numerous occasions.

6 Engine Shut Off Without Warning problem of the 2010 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 09/09/2015

The car shuts off while driving. This has happened to me at least 5 times in the past month so far usually in the middle of a turn. I have to put the car in park and turn the key in order to start it up again. It starts up and I'm on my way again. The issue is there is no warning like the car slowing down or vibrating or a dashboard warning light before it shuts down. I'm afraid the driver behind me will run in to me because of this. I've had a diagnostic test done today and the repair shop could not tell me what is wrong because they see no history of any codes coming up. They would need to see it happen. That would be hard to do.

7 Engine Shut Off Without Warning problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 09/04/2015

My car has been displaying erratic behavior for about the last seven months. The more recent problem I've experienced is that my car shuts off at a complete stop and sometimes as I'm braking to come to a stop at a light and power steering locks up as it shuts off. I feel this is extremely unsafe being I've dodged a few accidents already because of this issue. What if I'm at a light and getting ready to turn or make a u turn and it shuts off in on coming traffic, or if I'm on the highway and I have to suddenly brake and it shuts off at high speeds. I'm not sure what can be done but I hope I can get help some way, some how. I feel my life depends on it.

8 Engine Shut Off Without Warning problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 04/22/2015

I had half a tank of gas. I stoped at the gas station and fiiled my car up. When I pulled out of the gas station as im riding down the rode my car felt at it was jerking are as the transmission was slipping then the oil light came on and the car shut off in the middle of the rode. I put it in neutral and crunk it back up and drove into a nearby parking lot and as soon as I pulled into the parking lot it shut off again. I then again put it in neutral and crunk it again. It shut off after a minute. I then repeated those steps and just set there for thirty minutes or so and let it run and it didn't cut off after that. Every time I fill my tank up I have this same problem. My car runs fine long as I dont fill my tank up.

9 Engine Shut Off Without Warning problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 10/16/2014

The engine shut off completely while driving. This caused a total loss in power steering, head lights, and anti-lock brakes. Fortunately I was on a well lit road with a long straightaway and able to muscle the car to a safe stop. Had I been a few miles farther down the road I would have been on a winding road with no street lights. It would have certainly caused a major accident. I took the car into a mechanic and they found nothing wrong with it.

10 Engine Shut Off Without Warning problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 09/08/2014

My son was driving the call when it first happened where he was on hwy 155 and the engine shut off he had to pull off to the side and then he was able to start it and get the car home. I drove it and it did the same thing where the engine shut off while driving. Had full take of gas and everything. Dash lights would flicker and go out and engine shuts off and it kept doing the same thing. But no Chrysler dealership could figure out why it was doing that. The vehicle was in motion when it would shut off. Chrysler is stating to everyone that it was lack of maintenance for the 2006 Chrysler c. They had replaced the gas tank but never said why it needed it replaced. But after it was replaced kept shutting off and now my car needs a new engine.

11 Engine Shut Off Without Warning problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 04/04/2014

After fill up engine shut off five times in traffic.

12 Engine Shut Off Without Warning problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 02/23/2014

I have had this car for 7 years, never had an issue. On February 23,2014 I went to shell and filled up the car with $49. 00. I do not remember if I ever filled the car up before. I'm sure I have but I usually put 20/30 bucks in. But I just found out about stop n shop gas savings and received a discount. I tried to put 50 in but it only took 49. 00. I got back in the car and I tried to pull away from the pump and it shut down. I thought maybe it was a fluke since I was basically at a roll. I drove 2 blocks and at the traffic light it died. I proceeded to make a u-turn to return home. The car died 3 times in a 5 block span. I took the car to my cousin who had a computer, no codes came up but the car shut down twice. I parked the car and took out a different car. My cousin thought it was bad gas or a bad oil change which I had done on Feb 22, 2014 I just returned home and googled, "Chrysler 300c stalling" and found the article that this has been occurring, and here I am. I guess I will contact Chrysler in the morning.

13 Engine Shut Off Without Warning problem of the 2007 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 10/19/2013

The engine shuts down, power steering cuts off when I'm sitting at a light but only after I pull off. I have to put the car in neutral really quick and start it. I took it to the dealership more than once and he told me that they could not find anything. I told him I almost got rammed in the back twice because it cuts off right after I pull off and I have a hard time turning the steering wheel because the power steering goes out also.

14 Engine Shut Off Without Warning problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 09/02/2013

The car has been stalling out after being started. Now it is almost shutting off or becoming unresponsive mid acceleration from a stop sign. The car will at random stall. The engine does not need to be restarted so far while driving. It will "die" for a few seconds and then comes back again just short of complete engine shut down. Rear window on passenger side is also non responsive. It has only worked once since I have had the car.

15 Engine Shut Off Without Warning problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 06/01/2013

Hello, I am a current Chrysler vehicle owner and I’ve been having issues where my 2006 Chrysler 300c srt8 which just shuts off without any warnings or trouble codes reported to the car’s computer. There are times when I’m driving on a busy highway and the car will just stall out. Each time I take my car to the auto mechanics, they aren’t able to identify anything wrong as there aren’t any codes detected. My vehicle even stalled while at the mechanics shop and they still weren’t able to assist as no codes were triggered. Over the past 2 years, I’ve spent thousands of dollars and countless hours, stuck on major highs as well as replacing car components in a big effort of trying to resolve this concern. To date, I am still experiencing these anxieties. I’ve been out on relative web sites looking this problem up and it appears this has been happening to thousands of Chrysler srt/srt8 owners and they are dealing with same concerns that I am. I’m including a url link to one of the blog of 10+ pages of complaints from owners who are lost, confused and don’t know what to do. . Read more...

16 Engine Shut Off Without Warning problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 03/01/2013

I filled up the gas tank at the station pulled into traffic and the light turned red. Stopped for the light the car started lurching and the engine shut down. Turned on hazard light pushed gas to floor and cranked engine over. Took several tries to get engine to start. After this incident the car runs rough when stopping at red lights.

17 Engine Shut Off Without Warning problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 12/08/2012

The first time this happened was over a year ago. I had just filled up gas tank and pulled out of lot still in a parking lot of a shopping area. Turned left into a fast food place and car shuts down and would not restart until attempted several times. I was able to pull into a parking spot and went inside. Came out started car was pulling out of lot into traffic and car shuts down again. This time not to the liking of other drivers or myself. Restarted after several attempts drove home and did not happen again till I went on a trip a few months later. Half way through the trip I had to refuel and bingo it happened again after pulling out of gas station lot and turning left into traffic. This is not good. I was able to restart after several minutes and continued my trip on interstate without further incident. Since then it has been ok until just two days ago the 28th of December 2013. It happened again, after filling up and turning left at slow speed car shut down while pulling into a lot. It finally restarted after several attempts. After reading on line I'm not the only one with this problem. When it happened the first time I took to dealer, that I will never take it to again. Short story is they wanted to replace my transmission at the tune of $4500. 00. I left there and drove to a transmission shop who diagnosed and said that there was nothing wrong with transmission. Problem appears to be getting worst and afraid to fill up and pull out into traffic. From what I understand there seems to be a problem with the fuel tank and related components. Please Chrysler fix this problem, I love my 300c.

18 Engine Shut Off Without Warning problem of the 2005 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 10/14/2011

I read about this in the paper on 5-13-2013. After filling up , I started driving in 3 lanes of heavy traffic going about 55. The car suddenly stopped. The engine shut down. I was lucky I didn't get hit by one of the other cars. This happend several other times after that. I went to the dealer and they said they had never heard of such a thing. They said I must have topped off the gas. I said no. They said then do not put so much gas in at once. Well they just blew me off. I really think this matter needs to be addressed now, before it is too late for someone.

19 Engine Shut Off Without Warning problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 04/15/2011

After filling the fuel tank with gas and entering the freeway the car stalled. Every time I fill the car up with gas the fuel tank will just stall. I took the car to the dealer and was told that I would have to have the fuel tank and lines replaced. This is a serious safety hazard. When the car shuts off the steering wheel locks up and you must come to a complete stop before putting the car in park to restart it; all while trying not to be rear-ended by coming traffic. I continue to have the problem today. I took my car in for maintenance and was told that there's now a recall on the fuel tank, but due to the massive number of recalls, the part is on back-order.

20 Engine Shut Off Without Warning problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 08/09/2010

Owning my Chrysler 300c has been nothing short of an nightmare. . I have had the car power down while driving on the freeway, in the city and just recently on a Saturday 11/12/11 night on a desolate road with my children in the car. . When it shut off and would not restart. I have been to the dealership numerous times advising them that there is no heat in the car unless your driving that it starts delayed and every time they have said there is no code so therefore they cant trouble shoot. . I just feel as though this car is a death trap waiting to happen to go from 70 miles an hour to completely lose power is dangerous. . It is not a safe nor reliable car and I would not recommend it to anyone. .
