Stalling after fill up and under acceleration. Car stalls out and all power systems fail within minutes after refueling to a full tank. Car is in motion at any speed and has nearly caused two rear end crashes from cars behind it when it suddenly stops and the power steering and brakes and electrical systems shut off. This also happens during acceleration at 1700 rpm at any time. Car is always in motion. Car can be restarted again within a few seconds to 5 minutes later. Problem started at 130,000 miles. Possible issue with the gas tank, fuel line, filter or stuck valve. Mechanics say there is no fix and to not fill up the gas tank.

2 Other Fuel System Hoses Lines/piping, And Fittings problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300C

Failure Date: 08/20/2014

Purchased a 2006 300c srt8 in 2014. This is the 2nd time that this has happened. After the 1st refueling the car stalled and bucked and then after a few miles calmed down. I thought perhaps it was bad gas. During the 2nd refueling, with 93 octane, and just as the fuel clicked off, the engine stalled. No check engine light in either situation. The car was worse than the last time. The car stalled at each light all the way home. This happened approximately 4 times and then it stalled again as I parked it in my driveway. I called the local dealer concerning this and they said they are only ordering 6 replacement gas tanks a month and that 95% of the time an additional flex pipe or tube breaks during the repair procedure and that I would be responsible for this additional cost. What kind of a deal is that? I thought warranty work was to be at no cost to the consumer.

The first time I had this problem, I filled up my car after a trip, and upon leaving the gas station my engine stalled and the car would not come back on. I could not get the car to crank and when the engine did come on once the rpms would not settle and they kept dipping to almost zero before the engine cut off. I had the car towed to a repair shop where they were unable to fix the issue. I've had this happen about five times and I finally had one repair shop tell me to not fill my gas tank up all the way and it should prevent the cut offs. I then failed an emissions test and had to have my gas cap replaced. I thought that this had solved the problem so I tried to fill the tank up all the way again and it immediately cut off after starting it up. I was able to rev the engine and use up some of the gas and managed to get the car home with the rpms constantly dipping almost to zero. The car cut out at a stop light and I then had to get it started again after sitting in the intersection stalled. I've had my car inspected by two Chrysler dealers, a few independent repair shops, and also a Nissan dealer where I know the head mechanic. The only answers I've gotten were that it is a faulty O2 sensor and needs a new gas tank.
