Air Bag Problems of Chrysler 300M

I have been trying to get the air bag recall resolved on my car. I checked in September and again October 16 and told that they do not have replacement parts. When I go on the Chrysler web site for recall information, it says that parts are available. I feel that Chrysler, or the dealer, are not giving me top priority. In the mean time, I am at risk. I checked this out again today with the same result.

My son was driving to college on the interstate and both the driver and passenger front air bags deployed. He did not have an accident, hit an animal or hit a pothole. There was no damage to the vehicle other than the airbags deploying. My son was not injured, he was still able to see the road and pulled over to the shoulder and called me to inform me what happened and ask what to do. As he was close to his college I told him to be careful but continue on to school, I would call his uncle who is a mechanic and then let him know what to do after his class was over. I called the insurance company and my brother. My brother said to have him drive it to his shop so he could look at it. The insurance company started a claim. The insurance company has investigated and does not believe it will be covered as there was not a collision of any kind and the airbags deploying for no reason is not covered under my comprehensive insurance. My brother ran a diagnostic and these are the codes that came active - "driver squib" and "passenger squib", stored - "orc accelerometer", "driver squib #1 circuit open", "passenger squib #1 circuit open" and "driver squib #1 short to ground". There was obviously a malfunction somewhere within the airbag system. Any assistance with this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2003 Chrysler 300m. When the contact attempted to start the vehicle, the service light illuminated. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign numbers: 15v567000 (electrical system) and 15v313000 (air bags). The parts needed for the repair were not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 134,000. I am not sure who manufactured the airbags in 1999 chrylser 300s, but I am wondering what would cause an airbag to have a hole in it and where the hole is, it was frayed, my daughter was the passenger when they were hit on the front passenger quarter panel and passenger door, the airbag deployed but had a big hole in it and was frayed where the hole was, like a flag that has been blowing in the wind for years, I am coming up on statue of limitations so your immediate response would be so appreciated!!!! my lawyer does have pictures of the airbag with the hole in it, and showing also how it was frayed. My daughter sadly lost her life in this accident, she was wearing her seatbelt. This accident occurred November 29th 2014 on hwy 23 near waite park mn, car was in motion, her name is megan lehner.

The clockspring failed. This connects all the controls on the steering wheel and the airbag to the car's system. The problem here is a shortage of replacements-the part is on a nationwide backorder. It would seems to me that this is a part that should always be available.

My airbags exploded on my Chrysler 300m 1999 July 8th. The car doesn't have a recall on the airbags. Clean title. I came home from work, parked my car and everything was fine. 3 hours later I had to run to the store and as I walked towards my car I noticed both of my front airbags out. I looked around my car to see if there was any damage and I couldn't find anything. I assumed that the explosion of the airbags could've been due to the severe weather we had in our area, there was some flooding and also the hot/humid weather. I didn't move my car after seeing the airbags out, the car was left as is. I called my insurance company and told them what happened and they sent one of their agents to take a look and take pictures and check the car out himself. He was surprised to hear that airbags exploded without the car being in an accident, but he said that he would have to talk with some other people and see what they have to say because they've never come across a problem like this. About a week later he sent another agent to take a look at the car and he was surprised as well, he took a look at the car, inside and out, couldn't find anything. This was basically an investigation at this point. A week later the first agent calls back to notify me that they are unable to pay us for this damage and that we are on our own because they don't know what to do, they didn't know who to put the blame on. I then decided to call Chrysler tell them what happened and they said they didn't know what to do either and also told me they couldn't help because it's a 99. In order to replace the airbags I would have to pay 4k out of pocket.

5. 5 inch crack developed on inside left of airbag housing on passenger side of dashboard. Suggest that airbag safety may be compromised.

12" crack of dashboard cover opened up on left side of passenger air bag and is getting longer. Very disappointing for a high priced car which I have owned since new.

The dashboard cracks along the srs airbag enclosure. This crack can not be repaired without jeopardizing the integrity of the airbag.

Highway crash at 60+ mph where most of impact was in front and on front passenger side. Neither the driver nor passenger airbags deployed.

I was recently in an auto accident and hit a driver who had turned in front of me when I had the right of way. I was traveling 55 mph when my 1999 Chrysler 300m smashed into the man who tuned in front of me . To make a long story short, both of my front air bags did not go off during the crash. Who can I contact or what can I do about this.

I have a Chrysler 300m- 1999 model. For no reason, the dash now has a 6 inch split over the passenger airbag. I talked with the dealer, and they said nothing has caused it, and Chrysler refuses to fix the defect. My dash has cracked on the passenger side of my veicle, over the airbag. I am concerned about safety issues since it is over my airbag. There was not impact to the dash. It was not there went I parked the vehicle on mondy night and on Tuesday afternoon I noticed it.

Possible airbag defect.

Dashboard padding cracked around the air bag on the passenger's side compartment/cover area. Consumer had a concern that it may cause a problem with air bag deploying improperly or inadvertently.

One week ago a 3" split appeared in the passenger side dashboard vinyl near the air bag. My concern is that this is in someway related to, or is going to affect, the operation of the air bag deployment. I understand this is beginning to occur in many 1999 and 2000 300m's. Four years seems much too early for a problem like this to occur. The vinyl is still resilient and pliable, not hard or brittle. My local Chrysler dealer (allen jay) tells me they have never heard of it. They suggested I see about having repaired by someone who does vinyl repair. I have a 1999 300m. Whan it was about 3 years old the dash board cracked in the air bag area on the passengar side. And a few months later another crack formed about 12 inches toward the driverside. Both on the air bag seams.
