2 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2007 Chrysler Aspen

Failure Date: 07/30/2019

Every time we fill the gas tank . . . The vehicle will stutter / shake when at idle or die completely at idle like at a stop sign or drive through window. It will restart after about 30 seconds. After it has been driven about 25-40 miles it stops happening. We have paid for total vehicle inspections, we have also paid $1300 to have every single problem a certified Chrysler dealership can find fixed. This did not help the problem at all and the dealership says there is absolutely nothing wrong with the SUV. This is the car our son drives and we are very concerned. We are not in a financial position to replace the vehicle and have now emptied our savings to have the vehicle completely serviced, inspected and repaired.

Every time I fill up my gas tank the vehicle spits a bunch of gas our onto the ground and all over the side of the vehicle. 7 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2008 Chrysler Aspen

Failure Date: 10/01/2016

Every time I fill the fuel tank the vehicle stalls out while driving. I've had the vehicle stall out on me while making a left hand turn at an intersection and lost control of steering.

8 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2008 Chrysler Aspen

Failure Date: 07/15/2016

Vehicle sputters and dies after refueling. After refueling the fuel tank the vehicle does not want to stay running. It will run long enough to pull out, or attempt to pull out into traffic and then will die. This is very unsafe. My mechanic has determined it to be a check valve in between the fuel tank and vapor canister that fails and allows raw fuel to enter the emission system. This in turn causes the vehicle to die. One would think that this is a simple fix, but the check valve is only available with the $807 fuel tank. This issue is serious and could cause a wreck which could leave to injuries and or death.

9 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2009 Chrysler Aspen

Failure Date: 04/15/2016

I'm having several issues. First, I cant fill my gas tank up all the way, if I do my truck will shut off at any given time. Also my dash board lights don't work. I was told the bulb is sautered to the dash and the whole dash has to be replaced, that's $1300! currently, my major issue is, my truck not starting!!! I have replaced, the starter, the battery, the battery cables, and recently the alternator! I often need to get a jump and it usually turns over and will run for a day or two before needing a jump again! I have read reviews about this vehicle, and soo many of us are having the same issue. I think Chrysler should do a recall concerning this matter and keep a good quality standard rating with the people that trust in their name!.

The vehicle stalls while in motion regardless of road street or highway after refueling, we took the vehicle to the dealership and was told that the fuel tank & the on-board refueling vapor recovery system is faulty and that raw liquid fuel was going into the engine causing failing. We have little choice but to fix the problem, as this could potentially cause a fire in the engine and\or cause a potential accident as the engine stops while in motion.

Three times now car has stalled while stopped following full refueling of tank. . . We did research on line. . . Is this similar to NHTSA action number : pe13016? dealer "knew" what the problem was, fixed it at our cost but said there was no recall on the Aspen like the 300.

18 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2008 Chrysler Aspen

Failure Date: 11/14/2014

When I put fuel in my vehicle it stalls within 5 minutes. It does it once and then doesn't do it again until I fill up the next time. If I fill it before it gets below a half tank it doesn't seem to do it. The problem is I don't always remember to do that and I am worried that the next time it stalls I will be in the middle of an intersection. I have seen where other Chryslers with v8 hemi engines are covered under warranty but Chrysler told me that my vehicle is not. The same problem should be covered by the same extended warranty!.

Engine stalls consistently with full tank of gas. Same problem other Chryslers have with evaporative emissions system valve.

Whenever I fill the gas, once the pump stops and the tank is full about 1/2 gallon of gas comes back up and out of the fill hole. Spilling down the side of the vehicle and out onto the ground. This appears to be a regular problem with these. They did a recall on the Jeep with the same problem.

23 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2007 Chrysler Aspen

Failure Date: 01/11/2013

Every time I fill my fuel tank, approx. One gallon of gasoline shoots back out. I get covered in gasoline, along with the side of the vehicle and ground, causing a very hazardous situation. Any type of spark could cause me to go on fire, as well as the car and fueling station. This needs to be addressed by the manufacturer. How many people need to complain before someone gets injured or killed. I have personally viewed thousands of the same complaint.

24 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2007 Chrysler Aspen

Failure Date: 12/21/2012

While refueling fuel will discharge out of filler tube when tank gets near full, this will happen if the auto shut off is used or if it is operated manually. The fuel will spray up to 3' away from vehicle and cover anything in general area. This happens every time vehicle is refueled.

Upon picking up the vehicle from the repair shop, I went to get gas. While fueling the tank spits back fuel and also disengages the dispensing of fuel. I ve tried different gas stations and have the same issue each time. Fuel filler neck was replaced along with the fuel tank. This is a serious safety issue.

29 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2007 Chrysler Aspen

Failure Date: 01/01/2011

As with many others, I too have had the problem with gas spitting out of the tank when fueling my 2007 Chrysler Aspen. This has occurred repeatedly over the past year and a half no matter what precautions I have tried (stopping repeatedly, adjusting the position of the nozzel, etc. . ). It's dangerous, harmful to skin/clothing/shoes, costly and downright embarrassing. After reading on the internet how common of an issue this is, I cannot believe that Chrysler has not stood up and taken action on this - obviously they are not looking to build brand loyalty!.

30 Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problem of the 2007 Chrysler Aspen

Failure Date: 11/30/2010

I purchased this vehicle in August 2010. It is a 2007 Chrysler Aspen. I had it just a few months and I was having issues with the steering. I am good driver and drove to work each day without issue. I went to my local mechanic and he advised the tie rod needed to be replaced. He has been in business for years and noted how odd it is that a newer vehicle would need a tie rod replacement. He had never seen this before. It cost over $500 to get it replaced. He said had I driven it just a few more days the whole front would have broken causing an accident. I also had an issue in 2012 with a emission sensor and my gas tank.
