Engine Oil Leaking Problems of Chrysler Concorde

The contact owns a 2000 Chrysler Concorde. While driving 35 mph, the instrument panel lights illuminated then he heard noises coming from the engine. In addition, there was smoke coming from the engine then the vehicle shut off. The contact stated that he noticed an oil leak underneath the vehicle. The mechanic stated that he was unable to start the vehicle due to a complete engine failure. As of January 3, 2008, the mechanic had not repaired the vehicle. The current and failure mileages were 108,000.

I purchased a 2000 Chrysler Concorde in June 2001 from patterson Chevrolet. I purchased an extended warranty on the car and it was serviced for engine problems (oil leaking and smoke under the hood) in November 2001, twice in December 2001 and once in January 2002 before the problem was fixed. Car engine suddenly began to run very loudly. I put 2 quarts of oil and the next day the engine simply died while I was on my way to work on a very busy street. There had been no prior indications there was anything was wrong with the car.

I experienced complete engine failure while traveling at 55 mph on route 295 in new jersey. First I heard a sputtering sound then the car lost power. I had to cross from the fast lane to the shoulder while losing power. I just made it to the shoulder when the car stopped for good. There was plenty of oil in the car and in fact it had just been in the shop for another costly repair of $1500 for a leaky air conditioner compressor. A bad smell had been coming into the passenger cabin whenever I turned on the heat or air conditioner. After having the car towed I was told that by the mechanic that this car was notorious for engine failure and that he could see metallic material in the oil clearly showing the engine was blown. To repair it with a rebuilt engine it would cost $5900 plus tax.

1. ) oil light flickering, oil muddy looking ,oil shooting out of top of engine 2. ) took to dealership for repairs they said no oil leaks found,oil sending unit bad, replaced part then said engine bad"lower engine noises" dealer quoted new engine replacement at $4000. 00 on ride home from dealership engine failed . 3) I called Chrysler and they declined to help with cost of repairs and I cant afford $4000. 00 car is sitting in my garage and im still paying off the car loan. * I kept maintenance and required oil changes to this vehicle had no engine problem until failure. No warning engine warning light.

I purchased a 2002 Chrysler Concorde lx in February of 2005 and it was serviced at a key Chrysler Dodge and Jeep in xenia OH twice in March of 2005 for an internal oil leak which is now a recurring problem which is going to cost me at least 6500 dollars to fix!!!! Chrysler has no intentions on helping to fix my car! I still have a car payment with no car. This is very disturbing to me. Being that the oil leak couldn't of been fixed I can't possibly understand why they won't just fix the car. With several attempts to come to some type of agreement I have been unsuccessful. If anyone has any help as to how I can get my car fixed please let me know.
