4 Loud Engine Noise problem of the 2003 Chrysler Concorde

Failure Date: 06/30/2008

My 2003 Concorde shut off on me while driving to work on 695 expressway. The engine light came on and I stared to lose power. On 06/30/08 quickly I put my car into neutral and it started back up and continue to work but would not go pass 60 mph. Lucky for me there was no heavy traffic or I could have been seriously hurt. There was no sign that the car was going to lose power as soon as the light pop on the car started to lose power. I took the car to a dealership for service and at that time they told me that it was a shorted upstream 02 sensor . I parked the car and did not drive the car until 09/27/08 to the dealership the car was repaired. On 09/29/08 after driving the car for 12 miles the light then pop back on again and the same thing happen it shut off while I was driving. I took the car back to the dealership at this time they told me there was a code that came during the test stated that the cat converter internal was defective and the down stream 02 sensor. I had that replaced. On 10/02/08 after that repair I drove another 24 miles this time and as usual the light pop back on again but this time the car sound as if it was in neutral or different shift and would not pick up speed with a roaring loud noise. I then pull over to the shoulder and turn the car off and then back on again and it continue to drive normal. Engine light constantly stayed on. I returned the car back to the dealership for repair at this time they said a different code appear and said the p0420,po430 and they order a ed cat converter and now the left upstream 02 sensor. Which they had already replaced the right converter and both sensors now they are working on the left. Car was repaired on 10/06/08 after that repair I drove the car to work and on the way home the engine light pop back on for the third time, took the car back to the dealership and now the code say po600 and the pcm and solenoid was programmed and replaced. Now I have to get up at 6am to take the car back.

9 Loud Engine Noise problem of the 2000 Chrysler Concorde

Failure Date: 07/18/2006

I was responding from home to an emergency page when I began hearing loud noises coming for the engine. I was turning a corner when this began so I was driving approximately 10-15 mph. I pulled over, shut off the engine. Upon attempting to start my vehicle it failed. I had it towed to dealer which informed me the timing chain came loose and bent the valves, damaged the heads. I need a need motor. They want to charge me $4,000 for a used motor plus labor costs. I still owe $3,000 on this vehicle. I purchased it late 2003 and the dealer didn't inform me this was an ongoing, very common issue with this vehicle. I'm a single mom with no means of purchasing a replacement vehicle let alone thinking of fixing it. I can't even trade it in for a vehicle since I owe more than the car is now worth.
