The contact owns a 1999 Chrysler Concorde. While driving 35 mph, the vehicle came to a complete stop without warning. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and they stated that the timing chain tensioner failed. The timing chain kit was replaced. 2 Timing Tensioner problem of the 2000 Chrysler Concorde

Failure Date: 11/06/2006

: the contact stated while traveling 45 mph, the vehicle lost power, was pulled over and driven to an independent repair shop. Then, the vehicle was driven to the dealership, who determined the timing chain tensioner fractured causing the engine to run erratically. The timing chain gears and tensioner were replaced. Afterwards, when the vehicle was started, the oil pressure was low and the dealership determined there was oil sludge in the engine.

3 Timing Tensioner problem of the 2000 Chrysler Concorde

Failure Date: 12/22/2004

Consumer was driving and the vehicle stalled, would not restart, and had to be towed. The engine was found to be defective. Manufacturer offered no assistance. The tensioner went bad in the engine allowing the timing chain to jump time, resulting in the valves being bent into the head and destroying the engine.
