1 Water Pump problem

Failure Date: 08/18/2009

The contact owns a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica. While driving various speeds, the vehicle stalled and was able to be restarted. The failure recurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the fuel pump, water pump, cam shaft sensor, catalytic converter, oxygen sensor, timing belt, pvc valve, and multiple other parts needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The contact was aware of NHTSA campaign number: 06v432000 (power train), but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was unknown.

2 Water Pump problem

Failure Date: 12/01/2006

The contact owns a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that while driving various speeds, the vehicle began emitting steam from under the front hood. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the water pump was defective and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was unknown and the current mileage was 45,000.
