Motor mounts on my 2004 Chrysler Pacifica are broken! this is a height risk and parts seem to be on back order costs are high and this must be recalled. This is a ongoing issue on the Pacifica! I found this out after reading several forums which many many people have the same issue and all cant believe that this is not recalled yet. Broken motor mounts can cause the engine to fall down onto the street and could cause deadly incidents!.

Engine mounts are bad - one is missing. This is a problem with many Pacifica owners. Abs light came on - this is how it was diagnosed. We have only done urban/highway driving with this vehicle.

The manufacturer took report 19897979 and stated that she would received a call back. The failure and the current mileage were 117,000.
Pacifica lifter going bad.
I went to a local service/repair facility and was told that the front motor mount on my 2005 Chrysler Pacifica needs to be replaced. Upon some research on-line, I noticed that this is a common problem with this vehicle.
Chrysler Pacifica 2004 motor mounts( front & back) replaced every 15,000 miles. This is something that keeps happening and almost wrecked with kids in car.
2004 Chrysler Pacifica. In the past 3 months we have replaced the motor mounts and the antilock braking system module. We now have a thrown rod in the motor or a major cylinder problem. The vehicle only has 80,000 miles on it and we maintain it regularly. Are there any other problems that are common for this vehicle?.
The accelerator sticks preventing acceleration. This has happened multiple times. The dealer states that it is due to a build-up of carbon on the engine components. Maintenance is required - not covered under any warranty or factory program.
Valve lifter noise cause by sheared off pins on lifter shart causing shaft to rotate and oil feeds not supplying lifters. I had this repair done @ 77,000 miles in September 2009. It has happened again in February 2011 @ 104,000 miles.

Own 2006 Chrysler Pacifica, local dealership reported front motor mount was broken but dealership told me it can be dangerous if not repaired but part is on backorder and there is nothing that can be done. After reading blogs this is a national issue.
2007 Pacifica ltd $38,000. 00 may 2009: job#1 white smoke coming from engine at 45k miles. Dealership replaced valve seals on both banks. Job#3 they also had to replace spark plugs and decarb engine due to the smoke. I had to agree to pay for half of this (not warranty item - although the warranty work from the smoke from broken gaskets is what caused this damage) job#2 is listed on my repair ticket but was never discussed with me. During 27 point inspection they found the engine mount was broken. Never discussed with me - never fixed. I've been driving around like this for who knows how long. I'm wondering if my axle is messed up now as well. I will be talking to the Chrysler / Dodge service manager tomorrow and threatening him with the attorney general if they do not fix this. Broken engine mounts should def be a recall!!.
Chrysler Pacifica engine mounts failure and no replacements available. Engine mounts have failed 3 times in 120,000 miles, but now they can't be replaced. No aftermarkets available and Chrysler is on a "4 month national backorder". My mechanic confirms a design failure, but no alternatives. Every Pacifica he knows has an engine mount failure with no options for repair.
My car was recently state inspected and it was discovered that I needed the front and rear motor mounts on my 2004 Chrysler Pacifica. After researching the problem, I read complaints from many owners who had the exact same failures with their Pacifica's despite low mileage (30,000 to 40,000 miles). The problem appears to be a serious defect with this car because the motor mount is on backorder with the majority of Chrysler dealers. A Chrysler parts department employee at reedman's dealership in langhorne, PA. Told me the part is on backorder with no availability date forecasted. The employee told me this is a sure sign of a serious problem when this occurs. I have a problem now because I won't be able to drive my car when the state inspection sticker expires the end of April. I have read the shortage is possibly self inflicted so as to avoid warranty repairs. I don't believe that is true because bad motor mounts could lead to an accident and liability issues. However, I do believe this needs to be investigated and if deemed credible a recall initiated to correct the reason for the early failures I. E. Defective part or engineering flaw.
Broken motor mounts and axle. Abs sensors had to replace battery and both headlights all before 50000 miles. 2006 Chrysler Pacifica is a safety hazard and I don't know why these motor mounts have not been recalled. Furthermore motor mounts on 2 month back order unable to fix so putting more stress on my car needing more repairs.
On my 2005 Chrysler Pacifica, the motor mounts seem to be substandard and require replacement at a higher interval than normal. While this may not seem like a huge issue initially, a failed motor mount is a reason to reject a vehicle inspection in the state of va. Shortly after purchasing the car used 2 years ago, I needed to replace a failed motor mount, now, 2 years later and with the car having less than 65,000 miles I am having to replace a motor mount again. The real issue now seems to be that Chrysler as a whole is out of stock as there is a national backorder in effect at the moment. The fact that this part is on a national backorder makes me feel as if they are being replaced by many other Pacifica owners. Research online has shown that the motor mounts fail on the Pacifica approximately every 30,000 miles.
When you stop you hear and fill a large clank and the engine moving forward. We took it to the shop and waited 2 months for the first motor mount to be ordered and received there was a national backorder. While in the shop they discovered the front motor mount was now bad. This time there is 2600 on national back order and this time there is not a time frame to have it fixed. I called Chrysler and they will not talk to me because I bought my car used in 2006. Chrysler does not show me as the original owner. I am driving my family in a car that is un-safe. If Chrysler knows of the issue then why are they not doing anything to help. Any dealer I call or email tells me the same thing. They say they receive many calls a day about the part but they don't know. You can put your name on the list and pay for it but can not give you a time line to get it fixed. Now my warranty is up during this wait. It is going on 5 months now.
High level of failure of motor mounts in Chrysler Pacifica. Unable to get replacement parts due to 1000's being on back order. Started trying to locate and purchase motor mounts in 11/08. Paid for the replacement motor mounts at a Chrysler dealership in 1/09 and as of 6/09/09 motor mounts are still unavailable. I don't know what the safety ramifications are, other than if the mounts were to fail completely while driving down the highway 65 miles per hours in traffic. . . While I first became aware of the motor mount issue around 11/08, the motor mounts apparently were damaged before then.
The contact owns a 2004 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact took his vehicle to the mechanic for routine maintenance and was informed that the front motor mount needed to be replaced because it was leaking. The manufacturer stated that the part has been on back order since November 13, 2008, and will be unavailable until February of 2009. The vehicle is unable to be driven. The failure mileage was 75,000.
The contact owns a 2004 Chrysler Pacifica. While driving 65 mph, the vehicle made a puffing noise. The contact drove up the on ramp and the vehicle began to smoke. The tires caught fires. She exited the vehicle and noticed flames on the undercarriage of the vehicle. The police and fire department were notified. The vehicle was towed and a police report was filed. The current mileage was unknown and the failure mileage was 20,000.
I began having a problem about 2 months ago with my abs light coming on. It would come on and turn off randomly. Recently the light came on permanently and my brakes began grinding. We took it to the dealer and were told that the abs sensor is bad. Not only that, but the motor mounts cracked and must be replaced. My vehicle is only 3 years old, and has 47000 miles on it. After doing some research, I have found that both of these issues are a common problem on this make and model vehicle. The dealer that we purchased it from admitted that this is a problem, but I was not able to find any recall information regarding either problem. I feel that both problems are dangerous, since the brakes did not work properly in my situation. If cracked motor mounts are not taken care of, they could possibly cause additional damage to the engine components. I think that Chrysler should be held responsible for fixing these problems at their cost. I've seen many other people complaining that even after they've "fixed" the problem, they continue to have the same problem. I think both of these items should be considered for recall.
1. Oil has been changed by dealer since vehicle was new. Odd occasion, due to location issues, oil had to be changed at a goodyear service department. 2. Goodyear service writer informed us the drain hole threads on oil pan were stripped by the last place to change oil. Informed oil pan needed to be replaced. Contacted Chrysler dealer where work had always been done. They denied responsibility, but acknowledged the wide-spread incidence of this problem with other Pacifica models around the country. 3. After being put off for more than 6 weeks, we are having the oil pan drain hole re-threaded (it can only be done once), by a trusted mechanic trained by Chrysler. We will determine what needs to done long-term as advised by this mechanic.
Lifter failure starting at low mileage.
2006 Chrysler Pacifica - throttle sticks for first 1/4" of travel. This causes rapid acceleration in stop and go traffic. This occurs more often in warm or hot weather. Chrysler has not repaired issue. Mechanics have not been "able to reproduce events".
The contact owns a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica. While accelerating to 5 mph from the idle position, the vehicle completely shut off. The contact restarted the vehicle, but it began to hesitate. The check engine indicator light illuminated prior to the vehicle shutting off. The vehicle was driven home slowly and brought to a dealer the following week. The vehicle has been at the dealer for two weeks. The dealer stated that the vehicle had multiple failures, but no repairs had been made. The vehicle was still waiting to be repaired. The current mileage was 26,525 ,and failure mileage was 26,435.
The contact owns 2004 Chrysler Pacifica. She stated that the engine motor mounts are constantly knocking. The dealer refused to repair due to the motor mounts not being covered under warranty. The failure mileage was 60,000 and the current mileage was 77,000. The contact did not know the exact purchase date of the vehicle.
Shut down engine while driving.
On 19 October 2005, I had just completed a left hand turn and came to a somewhat abrupt stop at a stop light. After the light turned green, I hit the gas but the car would not move. I noticed that I lost my power steering for the steering wheel felt heavy. The dashboard lights were on but I did not notice any warning lights on the dashboard. The cd player was still playing nor did it pause when this occurred. Uncertain as to whether the car was off or not, I turned the key to the "off" position and restarted the engine. The vehicle operated properly after the incident. However, I became concerned about driving on the highway at higher speeds fearing that it would happen again.
While drive the vehicle appears to shut off. I have no other way to describe what happens. It is literally as though the key were turned off (I. E. The engine stops, loss of power steer, loss of power assist breaking, loss of abs, no instrument panel lights to even indicate there was problem). The only systems that remain active are the ones that would normally be on when the key were in the accessory position. The vehicle will immediately restart after being shifted to neutral. This has occurred numerous times with no consistency. (I. E. 70 mph on an interstate, 15 mph in a parking lot, 45 on a secondary road, 5 mph backing out of the driveway).
