My vehicle now 3 times just stops on me luckily 2 of the 3 times I was going maybe 10 mph. Only once I was going 35 and it just slams shut I am being told they are no active recalls however this is a problem and going to cause an accident when this happens my drive light on the dash is flashing as well as on the knob to put it in to drive. This is just one of the many problems with the vehicle the transmission constantly jerks you around. The sliding doors have a mind of their own. I am a single mom of 4 and I purchased this car almost bran new and I only have 3000 left to pay on it and I can barely drive it I dont even like going around my neighborhood in the vehicle for fear it will just stop. It has also left me stranded when everything just stopped working in the car and that turned out to be a recall that I was notified about til a few weeks after it left me and my kids on the causeway bridge. And before that alot of time my car wouldnt even start it was something with the battery for starting the vehicle. Chrysler should be sued for making this vehicle it is horrible I got it to have a reliable car for me and my kids and now im paying almost 500 a month for my car to sit in my driveway because no one wants to ride in it.

The vehicle stalled on the freeway while traveling 75 mph in the hov lane. After the engine shut off, I recalled an error message on the dash that stated, "motive power will stop and pull over quickly. ” I needed to take evasive action to bring the vehicle to the side of the 5 freeway. I could not restart the engine in neutral while the car was in motion. The car showed a charging error on the first and second attempted restart on the side of the road with the transmission in park. After letting the vehicle sit for a few minutes, I successfully restarted the engine, but the dash continued showing an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (mil). We were traveling at 75 mph in the hov lane (lane #1) when the vehicle engine cut off without warning. Once the engine was off, I saw a warning on the instrument cluster that the vehicle would lose all motive power (it's a hybrid) and that I should immediately stop it. I needed to take emergency action, cross over 5 lanes of freeway traffic, and then stop on the side of the road. The vehicle did not allow an engine to restart while in neutral, with the car moving. The vehicle was brought in for the recall of 03a/NHTSA 23v-010. From what I understand, this recall did not fix the problem (reported to be a faulty wiring harness in the transmission). I installed a software update to display the error message that instructed me that all motive power would be lost and that I should stop the vehicle.

The van continues to accelerate when I'm braking. This has happened 4 times after an hour or two of driving the freeway. As we were exiting the car continued to rev up as we applied the brakes. Thank god the light was green. Another time I tried to park and as I was braking the car was accelerating. I had to quickly put it in park position. The van is in the shop, hunter Dodge, now and they ran a diagnostic test and failed to find a problem.

Hello, my vehicle's brake booster is part of a safety recall and warranty extension by Chrysler. When I called the company servicing the reimbursement for these repairs I was told that the repair work could only be performed at a Chrysler (or associated brand) dealership. I believe this may not be legal as warranty repairs should be able to be performed by any certified mechanic. That information was given to me by contacting the following number given on the warranty recall repair letter: fca us llc customer care at 1-800-247-9753 I still intend to have this repaired, but do not believe I should be required to have it done at a dealership. Thank you. Ari doucette doucettea@gmail. Com.
Wiring for air-pump/power brake booster caught fire, see attached image.
Our car was fixed for a recall 5 months ago for engine failure on the highway because of an electrical issue. On Saturday morning driving on the highway, the car's dashboard gave a warning when we driving on the highway, 70 mph, and then immediately started breaking. This caused us to be slowing in the middle lane to 45 mph and cars swerving around us. We were very lucky to be able to maneuver around traffic and safely make it to the shoulder to catch our breath. This could of been a really bad accident involving 3-8 cars. We had the car towed to a dealership and after a diagnosis, the car needed a whole new transmission. The recall was an electrical update to control wiring in the transmission but then the transmission only after 32k miles completely shut down and needs to be replaced. We are hoping this gets looked into. After reading on forums, this issue has happened multiple times. We did have the recall fixed but it seems like the recall is 100% effective. Since this is a major issue and can cause fatality or serious body injury, fca should have a more effective update to fix this issue with the transmisson.

A clicking sound was heard and the dealer determined that the front axle nuts that hold the wheel hubs to the axle loosened. Dealer re-torqued to 120 ft. Lbs. And added locktite, however problem reoccurs. Chrysler issued a technical service bulletin (03-008-24) to torque the axle nuts to 228 ft. Lbs. After this was done at the dealer, clicking sound was heard again in just 3 weeks. Several attempts by the dealer to correct the problem at the 120 ft. Lbs. Spec. And once at the 228 ft. Lbs. Spec. Have not worked following Chrysler's instructions. Risk of hub and wheel coming loose while driving. Dealer has attempted repair/correction six (6) times.

The contact rented a 2020 Chrysler Pacifica hybrid. The contact stated while driving downhill approximately 20 mph, the check engine warning light illuminated, and the message "brake release" was displayed. The contact stated that the braking system malfunctioned, and the vehicle failed to stop while depressing the brake pedal before the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was pulled over to the side of the road and after restarted. The vehicle was drivable, but the check engine warning light remained illuminated. The contact stated that the check engine warning light then turned off. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The rental company was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 300.
While I was driving the right control arm seperated from the car. I was fortunate that I wasn't on the highway, also that I did not cause a collision with another car/person. With no warning the car felt as if it dropped on to the ground. Soon after I received an error message saying to service the brakes which I assume was also damaged when the control arm fell. . . I had to have the car towed to a repair shop and received a list of repairs. The car is avaliable for inspection. I had no clue how something like that could even happen. Ive been trying to find answers when I saw a recall on another car by the same maker that perfectly summed up what happened to me. Chrysler's number for this recall is v15.
Battery light comes on, power steering goes out, start/stop function switches in and out of accessory mode, then total power drain and vehicle will not turn over or maintain a charge. Vehicle is available for inspection. Safety was compromised by lack of control of steering and vehicle shutdown in a roadway. Issue has not been reproduced by independent services or dealer or other representatives. Battery light appeared, etcs light came on, voltage meter drained very quickly until total loss of power.
On Aug 26th, 2023, I was driving on NJ turnpike. Under the speed limit of 65 mph. I was raining a bit and rain intensity picked up. I had both my hand on steering wheel. As I tap on the brakes a little bit to further slow down my vehicle, the brakes got locked and the vehicle started spinning and the went into the ditch divider between lanes. Fortunately nobody was hurt in the vehicle. It was a rental vehicle and I was driving it from 12th of August. I had driven that vehicle for about 12 days and I recollect that braking of that vehicle was always a bit odd. I've been driving for over 20 years and never had I ever had such braking experience. I thought it was atypical because I was not used to hybrid vehicle braking, but in hindsight their may have been more to it.

Since owning the vehicle for over 3 years the brake shave been hissing and inconsistently engage when pressing the brake pedal. I have had several near accidents ranging from rolling into some while in a stopped position (moved vehicle to park to avoid), to almost causing major collisions on hwy do to the inability to come to a quick stop or slow. It is pure luck I have not been in an accident.
Computer code p258b - electric vacuum pump - after fixing code p000b with an oil change, the p258b code caused the check engine light to come back on and after further investigation found that the wire that comes from the pump looks like it has started melting. The external wiring casing is no longer covering the wires and the piece plugged into the pump looks like its splitting. I finally found the part through the mopar site but is referred to as an air pump: product 68274999ad. Luckily the car has not stalled or caught on fire. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance reps, or others. I plan on ordering the part to install myself as personal funds don't allow me the luxury of taking to the dealer to have this done. I will keep the part if the manufacturer wants it to inspect.
Brake system is not functioning correctly. The pedal completely depressed, car does not stop. Requires pumping brake pedal once or twice to stop vehicle. This is a concerning safety issue. Took the care fir service, no issue was found. Vehicle still not braking correctly.
I received p258b warning and further diagnosis came to know that c0021-02 and c1252-92 warnings. While applying breaks I am getting hissing noise and break pedal pushes me back where I have to apply lot of pressure to stop the vehicle. This is happening only when I press the pedals hard. I did diagnosis and noticed that the break vaccum pump fuse gone and replaced the same again it blown. Then realized that that the vaccum pump it self is not working and the same is ordered and replaced. Now the vaccum pump issue is fixed but still the break pedals are hard and getting hissing noise while applying breaks. Now I may need to change the break booster to get this fixed.
Week of 6/18/23 vehicle began flashing codes- service electronic stability control, lanes sense unavailable service required, awd system unavailable and several warning lights appearing on dash. Took to dealership replaced star connector. Still same issues. Took to another dealership replaced abs module. Still same issues. Chrysler engineers are guiding dealership on how to proceed but neither the dealership or Chrysler engineers know what is wrong with the car or how to fix it. Has been at 2 dealerships since June 23, 2023 and still no fix. The only repair documentation I have is from the first dealership. The dealership it has been at since June 29,23 said they cannot provide me with a document of the work they have done until the service repair order is closed. That won’t be closed until the car is fixed. But they can’t figure out the issue.
The 2021 Chrysler Pacifica hybrid will lose all power while driving. I have had it back to the dealer for this problem. I got a recall for this in April. I took it in to the dealer to do. They told me that Chrysler does not have a fix for this yet. Within 400 miles after that it done it again while my wife was driving and caused a crash.
When driving car gives the warning that fcw is not working and other error messages on the screen. When you apply the break, it automatically started breaking having sudden stops which is dangerous to drive on roads. For some reason those check engine lights will go away after some time and everything seems to be normal. Towed to dealer and reported to Chrysler multiple times and they are not taking car of this ones as they cant replicate the issue.
I have recognized at least 6 times within the first ten minutes after propulsion on, when I apply the brakes on dry pavement, with even brake pedal pressure, the brakes do not grab properly and the car continues to glide forward for a few moments, then I put the car in park (often at a traffic light) to try to clear or reset the problem.
The contact owns a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that while parking, the brake pedal was applied but failed to respond, lunged forward and stuck an unoccupied Honda pilot. The vehicle lost power but restarted after several attempts. There were no warning lights illuminated. There were no reported injuries, air bag deployment, police report or fire. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified but no additional assistance was provided. The approximate failure mileage was 67,084.
When having to press hard on brakes my vehicle does not stop right away. I have to pump them to get my van to stop. When at a light with vehicle stopped by pressing on break the brake pedal will push back up with force and start moving forward.
The contact owns a 2020 Chrysler Pacifica hybrid. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 23v010000 (electrical system, hybrid propulsion system); however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
Vehicle on several occasions has slowly rolled forward when at a complete stop with brake fully engaged. Brake needed to be released and depressed again to stop vehicle. Multiple incidents have occurred while being fully stopped for traffic control devices. Latest incident occurred today, January 15, 2023.
Exiting I-75, vehicle initially slowed but then accelerated while braking. Result was a collision with vehicle on exit ramp. Vehicle is still at collision shop. There was no forward collision warning. Air bags did not deploy despite impact that resulted in radiator being punctured by hitch of pick-up truck.
The contact owns a 2022 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that while driving at 80 mph with the cruise control activated, the vehicle experienced phantom braking. The following day, while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle was vibrating and the brakes failed to immediately stop the vehicle. The contact stated that the brakes caught fire, and there were flames coming from the brake calipers. The contact was able to put out the fire with a hose. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it remained for twenty-one days; however, no cause of failure was found. The failure recurred, and the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who recommended the contact stop driving the vehicle as it was unsafe on the roadway. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and dispatched an inspector to the dealer to inspect the vehicle, but the report was not yet available. The failure mileage was approximately 13,000.
Several separate times when I have been braking then let up off the brakes, my car accelerated on its own, without me pushing the accelerator. It’s like the car hops or jumps. Very scary as I’m trying to slow down.
1. The brake booster on my 2019 Pacifica failed, resulting in a collision at a red light. 2. I replaced the brake booster myself since the car was just out of warranty 3. Three months later, Chrysler sent a letter to an address that I have not lived at for 15 yrs and never had this Pacifica registered at - the letter said that the warranty period for the brake booster has been extended for 2018-2020 Chrysler Pacificas 4. Chrysler denied my reimbursement request because I did not have the replacement brake booster installed at a Chrysler dealer 5. My colleague has a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica which also suffered a brake booster failure, but is not covered under this warranty extension. 6. I called 3 separate dealers and multiple parts stores . . . . No one had a replacement brake booster in stock. The earliest I could get a replacement was 1 week by ordering it online. It appears that brake booster replacements are in high demand for this vehicle. -why is this a warranty extension rather than a recall? -why is Chrysler denying reimbursements for part costs? -why is 2017 not included in Chrysler's warranty extension? -why is Chrysler doing a terrible job of notifying owners (using addresses over 15 yrs old) rather than using addresses listed with the dmv or addresses used when purchasing the vehicles?.
I was on the highway traveling at 60mph, with the adaptive cruise control on. The semi in front of me began to brake, I tapped off the cruise control and began braking. The semi came to a complete stop and I pushed my brake pedal to the floor to stop my vehicle. It did not stop. My pinnacle has emergency braking and forward collision warning. My driver's instrument panel did not give a forward collision warning indication in a timely manner and my emergency braking did not stop my vehicle. At the time of the accident vehicle had less than 10,000 miles, dry weather conditions, and vehicle was used for leisure - in town driving. A month previously, I took my pinnacle into the dealership because I didn't feel my brakes were working properly. They felt mushy, little resistance, and were making a noise. An inspection was performed by the dealership but were unable to detect a noise or visual issue. My safety was put at risk when a system I depended upon, that was advertised as, "full speed forward collision warning with active braking assists you by providing both visual and audible warnings as well as applying emergency braking to help bring the vehicle to a full stop, if needed" (Chrysler. Com/pacifica/safey-security. Html) failed. The brakes didn't engage properly to stop us before hitting the vehicle in front of us. The forward collision warning indication didn't happen in a timely manner, it was delayed causing us to lose precious seconds. If this had been a passenger vehicle in front of us we could have injured the occupants and we ourselves could have been gravely injured had we been traveling at a higher rate of speed. The problem has not been confirmed by a dealership, but was taken there prior to the incident less than a month before. I reported the problem to Chrysler the day of the accident. The vehicle is pending inspection by insurance and I have asked that the electronic data recorder be removed and the information on it to be evaluated.
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? the van stalls, the wheels lock up, the transmission shifter becomes unusable, and of the warning light start flashing on the dashboard. Yes, it’s available for inspection upon request. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? it stalled in the middle of the road blocking traffic from both ways and was unable to be moved for over half an hour. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? yes, by an independent service center. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? yes were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? no, not until the day it stalled on 8/30/2022z.
Braking is severely compromised. Hissing noises and stiff pedal. Brake booster.
When I come to a stop(or sometimes not even fully) then accelerate to pull off, the rear end or something hesitates & then rams/jerks to the point I thought I was rear ended. This happens several times per week. Also, sometimes there’s no power when I do try proceed through light/stops. It’s like there’s little to no power for about 10 seconds. The breaks are quite loud but dealer says they are good.
Traveling down a country road on a clear afternoon, the vehicle traveled approximately 35 mph while cresting a small hill. On the other side of the hill was a "t" shaped intersection where another vehicle stopped in the intersection from a stop sign several feet behind. The other driver failed to complete the turn when they saw oncoming traffic. The driver noticed the intersection had an obstructed path and attempted to move into the oncoming traffic lane since no oncoming traffic was visible. Just then, the onboard computer installed in the control panel of the drivers seat had acted upon either the obstruction or the switch in lanes and assumed complete control of the braking and steering systems. The driver was unable to retrieve control from the computer systems artificial intelligence before a direct crash occured with a telephone pole. Rendering the vehicle dangerous as live wires draped the saturated earth below the tires and feet of passengers exiting the vehicle. The manufacturer was contacted, but no follow up has been made. Neither the police or insurance representatives have been helpful or any investigation made into this account. There were several lights, sensors, noises, and messages that were flashing and beeping but none were able to be understood before the sudden impact.
While driving approximately 35mph and without any warning, the vehicle suddenly slammed on the brakes and came to a stop in the middle of the road. If another vehicle had been following behind there could have been a collision. The forward collision alert might have gone off; afterwards most of the warning lights were on. We were able to slowly power through the brakes to a nearby parking lot. We could not turn off the car or put the transmission in park or neutral, it was completely immobilized. All of the transmission lights were on and could not be changed by turning the dial. The vehicle was towed to a dealership and has been waiting for diagnosis for over 3 weeks.
I was driving uphill at slow speed; then a garbage truck in front of me needed to do a 3 point turn so I switched to reverse to back up. At that point the vehicle started flashing an alarm, I think said "service hybrid system" or something like that and instantly began rolling down the hill for about a block, while I was completely unable to engage the break or gas, to switch to drive, to control the wheel, even the emergency brake failed. I was rolling backwards for about a block completely unable to control any component of the car when the emergency break finally engaged. I was able to turn on my hazards at that point, but the vehicle would not start, nor would it turn off. I could not make it reverse or drive or even turn off as I sat stuck in the middle of an intersection. After several minutes like that I was eventually able to restart the car and drive slowly home. This is murder by Chrysler waiting to happen. I was very lucky no child or vehicle was behind me as I rolled downhill into an intersection. I was very lucky to not be hit by oncoming traffic as I sat stuck after rolling a block downhill backwards-- these are minivans filled with children!! my 4 children! Chrysler in berkeley service said they haven't heard of this before and will see me only next week, and not sooner! however, there are numerous similar complaints registered. I am afraid to drive it at all at this point. This is a very new car with less than 10k miles on it. Recall immediately please before someone gets killed.
