3 Transmission Gear Slipping problem of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 03/08/2019

For a year now our transmission slips when going into first gear. The van will come to a complete stop and then continue moving which results in a hard jerk. It was so bad on a trip that the check engine light came on and we could not get the van out of first gear. We were even trying to drive over the ohio river at the time! we took the van to the dealership. The dealership reset the van but the issues still occurred. We were informed by the dealer that chyrsler will not fix the issues until our check engine light comes on again. We continue to have the jerking issues and the transmission continues to slip. Now the van wants to excel at times. We are completely frustrated with our van!! I am the primary driver and have an extremely bad back! the jerking is causing issues with my back. We would never recommend a Chrysler Pacifica. I can't believe Chrysler willing to put us in danger!!.

4 Transmission Gear Slipping problem of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 01/09/2019

I was at a complete stop at a stop sign on a frontage road waiting to turn right onto highway 122 in mason city iowa. I then accelerated and turned right. As the van reached 17 mph, the van acted like the transmission slipped into neutral for a period of approximately five seconds, and then violently slammed back into gear. During this timeframe, another vehicle approached rapidly from behind and almost collided with the rear of our van. Our van had also had this same occurrence at 36 mph. Our local Chrysler dealer and Chrysler customer service has been notified of this issue several times and we were told it was normal operations.

5 Transmission Gear Slipping problem of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 12/01/2018

We have had multiple issues with our 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. The first issue is when we accelerate between 10 and 20 mph our vehicle revs up and jerks really bad. Literally feels like you have been rear ended. It is like the gear is slipping or it can't find the next year to go into. Another issue we are having is with the drivers side sliding door. I usually have to try to shut it multiple times for it to stay shut. On multiple occasions I have had to hit the button 3-4 times for it to stop popping back open. The last issue is our start/stop feature. It has completely stopped working and it shows a code on the dash. These are all issues we have been dealing with for months.

8 Transmission Gear Slipping problem of the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 08/22/2017

While traveling at low speeds, especially when making turns/ coming out of parking lots, our Chrysler Pacifica will stall. It does a hard shift and jolts forward, as if a gear has slipped or we have been rear-ended. The first time we took it in for this issue was in September of 2017 when the car had about 32,000 miles. Numerous software updates have been done and a valve throttle body was put on in June 2018 to try and resolve the issue after many former attempts. It worked for a couple months, but now we are experiencing the stall/ hard shift again. Chrysler's customer care has blantantly denied me the opportunity to speak to supervisors and points the finger at the dealership, while they point fingers ar Chrysler. The car is 2 years old and doesn't give me any hope of ever really being fixed. We have been meticulous about maintenance and have only taken it to certified Chrysler dealerships. Our first family car purchased together has been an experience we don't want others to go through. Chrysler is not taking responsibility for producing unsafe vehicles.
