The contact owns a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle turned off independently but was able to be restarted. Additionally, the vehicle was difficult to start. The vehicle was taken to an independent shop, where the pcm was reprogrammed and an unknown fuel injector repair was performed; however, the failure recurred. The contact stated that while at a complete stop, the vehicle shut off independently but was able to be restarted. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that upon taking the vehicle to the dealer for the recall repair of NHTSA campaign number: 06v432000 (power train), the dealer informed the contact that the equipment and parts to do the recall repair were not available after the vehicle had remained at the dealer for two days. The contact stated that several other dealers were contacted and provided the same information. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 94,791.

I received a service hybrid electric vehicle system warning. Also vehicle speed may be limited warning. When I shut the vehicle off, it was loud and remained running. My safety and the safety of others were put at risk because the warning happened while I was driving and I couldn’t get speed to park in a safe location. I had my car towed to a local Chrysler Jeep Dodge dealer and they updated software related to my car that was the source of the problem. They also told me the battery completely drained. The recall was due to a faulty pcm that the recall was for. You can see in the invoice the problem I communicated to the manufacturer before they diagnosed my vehicle. You can see clearly the vehicle was still active even after shutting off, likely causing the battery to drain completely. And due to the faulty pcm, it failed to tell the systems to shut down. Chrysler is giving me $100 for the tow. But they say the battery is out if basic warranty so will not reimburse me the $650 or so for the battery. My argument is that it doesn’t matter if the battery is out if basic warranty as the draining of it was a direct result of the recall and failed pcm. There is case law that supports the fact that if a recall-related defect (such as a faulty pcm) directly causes a secondary failure (e. G. , battery damage), the manufacturer still bears responsibility, as the defect rendered the vehicle unfit for normal use.

Driving at interstate speed, dash message stated to pull over, engine shutting down. Coasted to stop on shoulder. Waited 5 minutes, turned on ignition, check engine light was on. Restarted vehicle, drove ~20 miles and same occurrence. Was able to return home to dealership. The obd reader said the pcm (powertrain control module) had failed. Service dept. Sent info to Chrysler corp. Service, which stated the transmission was at fault. Car mileage was ~16,500 miles. Under warranty, the transmission is being replaced.

The contact owns a 2020 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that while stopped at a stop light, the vehicle inadvertently lost motive power; however, the vehicle was able to be restarted. After restarting the vehicle, the vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact also stated that later, while driving at 40 mph and attempting to accelerate, the vehicle briefly hesitated and jerked before returning to normal operation. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired, and the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the transmission control module and performed a software update as per technical service bulletin: 21-043-20. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 70,000.
At low speeds when shifting into 2nd gear the car slips, rpm's raise and then it suddenly and aggressively jerks into 2nd gear. If the start and stop feature is enabled and you are in a situation where the feature is engaging and disengaging like traffic then after a few of the jerks into 2nd gear it seems the pcm will get discombobulated and display a p0732 error.

Requesting an n. H. T. S. A. An investigation into the 2019 Chrysler Pacifica defects as they relate to this specific model & VIN number, leased directly from a connecticut cjdr dealer as a new vehicle. Vehicle currently has 53k miles on it. The lurching & hard shifting defects in the transmission are well cited back to 2016 for this model. Our minivan began lurching forward during gear shifts at &/or approaching highway speeds (37mph - 59 mph) at ~35k miles, while on the highway or roadway with this permissible speed. Problem was intermittent & is now constant. Transmission lurching, & slamming began last year is so aggressive that the slamming woke my son from a sound sleep and vibrated the front cabin. A complaint has been made to stallantis & the vehicle has been brought to the local cjdr dealer four times for the same issue. There is no code, so they can not fix the issue, nor can they can get the van to re-create the issue in the 7 or 8 miles they test drive it. Blogs have shown updates to the pcm and tcm. Service bulletin number: 21-027-17 as a possible fix, but we did that & nothing has changed. Tcm has no updates. Stallantis is now telling me I need to bring it back to the dealer and leave it for several days so they can "drive it home" & add more miles to the miles I have already added to it to have it diagnosed, back & forth the dealership & it's a lease. Stallantis is stating they will "look at it" even if the power train warranty is over at 60k miles, but won't guarantee they'll repair it. In the past they have given me mopar vehicle protection plans for the life of the lease for specific issues, when these issues have not been fixable. Case manager says he isn't aware of that & has to check with his supervisor. The concern is the vehicle is going to have a total transmission failure with my children in the van. A "star" case needs to be opened by stellantis for this issue & I am going to request that tonight. Service bull. Attached. Cc. Atty gen. /CT.

Issue started June 25, 2022. Initially, the shift knob would intermittently lock in park while the engine was running and foot on the brake, unable to shift out of park. Eventually problem cleared itself. Was advised by local auto parts store to replace aux battery and issue should clear. I replaced the auxiliary battery myself the dealership installed the main battery on July 6. Dealership was unable to diagnose. No issues for about 1 week. Problem started again. Check engine light came on along with service shift sensor error message. We made an appointment for the dealership and returned with it on July 19 and told them we needed it back by July 21 end of day. We got the car on July 21. Dealership was unable to service. On July 22, we pulled into parking lot and all systems and vehicle shut down. Multiple error messages. Finally got the car started again and had to wait several minutes for the shift knob to "unlock". Was able to reverse out of parking space but after shifting the knob into drive, the transmission remained in neutral leaving me stuck in the middle of traffic lane unable to drive. That cleared after a couple minutes, and I was able to get it home. I opened the hood and the battery terminals were loose. I tightened them. The negative terminal on the main battery would not tighten down. I replaced the neg terminal with oem part from mopar auto. The error cleared up for several days. On August 1, my wife was driving the car and the transmission shifted into neutral on it's own and then slammed into park in the middle of traffic without warning or shifting the knob. This was a very dangerous situation! we made an appointment for Aug 8 with another dealership. The vehicle had 84 error codes tied to this issue. They determined the vehicle needed a new electronic shift module which they replaced and tcm was reprogrammed. We got vehicle back Aug 12. Shift knob still locks in park. Still not fixed and will not drive due to danger.
Around 35,000 miles - mil light came on showing dtc p000d (camshaft position slow response bank 2). Followed by rough up/down shifts, lack of power on acceleration, lack of downshifting as expecting, and rough idle at low speeds. Code self cleared and mil disappeared. Engine oil checked and changed. Code came back/self cleared until vehicle was taken to dealer at 47,317 miles. Below service was performed - included checking the camshaft - sensors and replacing the pcm under warranty. Now at 52,000 miles and six months later - dtc p000d, rough shifts, lack of acceleration and rough idle have come back. Dealer does not have any availability until 4/23 - however an appointment has been made. Dtc comes and clears. But rough shifts persist. 08-24-2021 -47,317 scheduled maintenance vehicle inspection(s) check battery inspect brake system tires good - green diagnostic system test cam shaft rental sublet lube/oil/filter fuel system service.
I was driving in stop-n-go traffic between 0-25 mph for about 10 minutes, when the car stop responding to acceleration. The engine was still on. I was lucky to be able to pull over to the left shoulder, but there was a lot of traffic behind me, and could have been rear-ended with my family inside the vehicle. Once I pulled over, I saw that the "engine fault", "parking brake fault" lights had come on, and the dash displayed "traction control disable". There were other messages that came up. I tried to put the car in "park", but the shifter didn't respond. I turned off the vehicle and started it back up. All the fault lights were still on, and the shifter was blinking between "p" and "l" for no reason. I shut off the engine again, and attempted to restart a second time, with the same result. I shut off the engine again and waited for about 3 minutes before restarting. This time I was able to put the car into d, and go to the dealer to check up. Needless to say, this was very dangerous, not knowing if the car could malfunction again and if I would lose control again. I have taken this vehicle to the dealer 3 times before regarding a rough gear change at low speed. Each time the dealer updated the program on the transmission control module (tcm) per Chrysler factory bulletin, and told me to drive it and eventually the computer will "learn" my driving habit (as if somehow I am at fault for accelerating the vehicle). On this occasion, the dealer replaced the tcm, but gave me no assurances that these problems would not occur again with the new tcm. Unless Chrysler can explain what was the problem, and what they did to fix it with the new tcm, I feel there is a safety concern/risk with this vehicle.
This is my 3rd problem to be reported to NHTSA on this 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. The "l" gear should typically slow down the vehicle when engaged, especially going downhill, so that you can use the transmission to slow the car down and use less braking. On a recent trip on I-5 the grapevine, I used the l gear to attempt to slow down the vehicle on a steep and long descent. Instead of slowing the vehicle down immediately upon switching to l, the vehicle actually sped up 10 to 15 mph initially before it starts to slow down the car, creating a very dangerous situation especially when vehicles in front of me were slowing down too on the descent. I took it to the dealer, and they actually replaced the tcm because of another dangerous problem (see complaint 11405469, March 2021) with the vehicle. I have tried the "l" gear again after, and it still does the same thing. The dealer says they cannot replicate the problem because there is no downhill where they can test for this problem.
Its throwing a pcm code an the car is stalling so bad in the moddle of driving I have been stuck severeal times an I thunk there is a fuel leak I smeell gas so bed its throing po300 code an wont chanfe even when I got all the parts I see there is a recall on my year of car can somwonw hwlp mw I cant keeo cutting off ill wreck.

I have encountered a rough / hard transmission shift condition, from a standing start, primarily when the transmission shifts from 2nd to 3rd. This condition is consistent with Chrysler case number s2021000005. I have noticed that just prior to the hard shifting that the engine rpm goes up to approximately 3,000 rpm and then shifts hard into 3rd gear. Additionally, the hard shift condition seems to be more prevalent when the acceleration occurs while turning right. I had my vehicle serviced at my local Chrysler dealer (northtown Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram) who (1) reprogrammed the transmission control module and (2) performed a quick learn on the transmission. This is consistent with Chrysler's service recommendation under the above mentioned case number for this condition. However, Chrysler indicates that this service may not fully resolve the issue and another quick learn may be required in the future. My concern is two-fold. First, what damage is being done to my vehicle's power train as a result of this hard transmission shift and extreme rpm condition prior to encountering the hard shift condition. Second, Chrysler indicates that they are aware of the issue and are developing a resolution - when might that full resolution be available?.

On August 7, while I was driving on a state highway, around 30 mph, my van suddenly stopped and would not start again. I was stuck in the middle of the road for about 5 minutes while the car made noises and the check engine lights and other dashboard warnings flashed. After a few minutes I was able to restart my car to move it to a safe location. My "micromechanic" engine light reader gave me codes u0401 and u0100, lost communication with ecm/pcm and invalid data received from ecm/pcm- and said the car was unsafe to drive. I had it towed to the dealership. After about a week, the dealership said they rebooted the computer and test drove the car about 15 miles and it was working again. They said it was safe for me to drive and had me pick it up. I had the car back for 10 days. On August 22, I was attempting to leave work. The car was stationary in the parking garage. When I started my car, the same thing happened - it began flashing and beeping. I was unable to turn the car off or move the car. When I pushed the ignition button instead of turning the car off it would re-cycle and begin beeping again. I ran the micromechanic and it gave me the same codes u0100 and u0401 dealing with ecm and pcm. I had to stay with the car 2. 5 hours to wait for the tow truck and the entire time it beeped and flashed - I was unable to turn it off. I had it towed back to the same dealership, where it still is currently. Both times this occurred the car was not charged electrically but had gasoline fuel.

Second time happening. Suddenly quit running again at 40 mph while going up small hill on July 2nd around 2 pm on trip back from market. Had driven about 5 miles total. Also, this time parking brake would not release. This vehicle is a highway hazard. Supposedly the problem was fixed on June 23rd by reprograming the transmission control module. Waiting for dealer to explain what they are going to do this time. . . .
Vehicle suddenly stopped in city traffic and was unable to move. Pulled parking disconnect and was able to drive 6 miles to dealer, vehicle has 14,150 miles at time with no prior problems. Dealer was able to "fix" by reprograming tcm (error code p0975) this could have deadly on an interstate. This type of sudden stall needs to be corrected as I have read others reporting same situation.
Tl the contact owns a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, and shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear, the vehicle lacked forward motive power with an abnormal clunking sound coming from the engine. The vehicle was taken to hall Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram virginia beach (3152 virginia beach blvd, virginia beach, va 23452; (877) 475-0721) who stated that a transmission hard code was retrieved by the dtc scanner. The dealer replaced an unknown part in the transmission control module however, the failure recurred. The dealer then stated that the hub flange needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, however, the failure continued. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 20,000.
When I was driving on the freeway (driving 45 mi/hr), it stopped moving accelerating (seems like the car is actually slowing down) even when I was stepping on the gas pedal. And then the car stalled. . . . . . . It was a good thing I was on the very right side of the lane. The fuel pump module and/or the powertrain control module (pcm) software may allow the engine to stall under certain operating conditions, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will need to reprogram/replace the pcm/tcm and/or replace the fuel pump module to correct this concern. In most cases, aside from stalling and engine revving up and down on its own, there's a lot of hard jerking when driving the vehicle. It seems like the engine has a mind of its own since when I accelerate, the car will not move or delay in moving forward and if I let go of the gas, the car moves forward. It's a safety concern.
My 2017 Pacifica was recalled in January 2018 for the engine stall problem. Chrysler told me they might not have a fix for the problem until the 2nd quarter of the year! I told them that I wasn't driving a dangerous car around. I brought it to the dealer and it sat there for a month while I drove a rental. I was then told that the pcm was updated with software and it was fixed. After a picked it up I got a notice from Chrysler saying that I didn't need to do the repair because it was fixed during the prior recall for egr valve??? well, while driving last week, the car stalled six times in two days! one of times I was parked and idling, another time, I was slowing down for a light and the other times I was just driving. I had it towed to the dealer and they've had it for a week and are in contact with Chrysler trying to remedy it! whatwver they did to "fix" this recall previously did not fix it as the very dangerous problem is still happening! will not drive my family around in this terrible car.
After a stop, then stepping on the gas and nothing happens. Finally takes the gas and lurches forward. On 03/15/2018 the dealer updated the tcm software, said mine was out of date. Seemed ok until 04/01/2018 when it did the same thing again. Mileage is 3000.
This vehicle with unsafe deadly driving conditions began as a new vehicle at around 1300 miles. Acceleration of Chrysler Pacifica while driving at 55 to 75 miles per hour with the engine of vehicle does not slow down but stays stuck and does not slow down and remains at a high rate of speed. Documented over 350 incidents of this subject Pacifica for 3 years. Often, I could not stop the engine from racing at its highest rate of speed while on freeways and other roads. This vehicles engine does not slow down and begin forced pumping of brakes making the vehicle rise in height and. . Ii could not stop this Pacifica engine from shutdown racing engine until I place the shift mechanism in neutral to slow it down and keep in from crashing into a forward vehcile object. The engine gets stuck in its former highest rate of speed for 30 to 45 seconds. On a good number of occasions I have taken this subject vehicle to ray lathem dealership in detroit, michigan. The dealership put thousands of miles on my leased vehicle and stated they did not know what the safety stuck acceleration problem was. Chrysler would not acknowledge any safety acceleration problems and I had my vehicle tested by software engineers and they advised me that the aforementioned Chrysler Pacifica has defective ut modules, powertrain control pcm reprogram module powertrain control. This Pacifica engine continued to stick causing the engine to race a its former highest rate of spped of 55 or 70 miles per hour. During winter weather like rain, snow or ice this vehicle would turn sideways while getting off the freeway service drive. While this is my 4th Chrysler Mini van I have placed my family children at high risk of being injured in a car accident. I have written the president of Chrysler and all this stress this cost me over 9,500 additional mileage penalties of . 28 cents per mile. . .
Van loses ability to go forward while driving. Dash lights all come on and engine begins to cough and stutter leaving me stranded in traffic. Dash codes include "service electronic stability control, engine light, "parking brake temporarily unavailable," and other dash icons. It will move forward at idle speed only-no accelerator. I have had it towed to Chrysler dealerships 3 times and was able to drive it in a fourth. This issue has nearly caused 2 accidents-one of them with the potential to cause serious harm. While moving in traffic the van stops going forward and decelerates quickly causing traffic behind it to have to swerve to avoid hitting it. It has also occurred in the middle of a turn from a stop onto a state highway. This instance required other drivers to swerve into another lane and onto the shoulder/curb to avoid hitting me or vehicles in other lanes. It has occurred immediately when starting the van in a parking lot. It has occurred at low speed in a subdivision. Chrysler refuses buyback and continues to tell me to drive the vehicle. All recalls have been done, the pcm has been reprogrammed/replaced 4 times, the "harness" has been fixed/replaced 3 times. Both of the sliding doors have had to have the motors replaced on separate trips to the dealership. This vehicle is an electrical nightmare and Chrysler is not dealing with it. This began at about 14,500 miles and within the 1st 7months of buying the vehicle brand new. I have been trying to get this resolved for 6 months with no help from fiat Chrysler or the dealer- shuman Chrysler. They continue to make it run and let me drive it for a short period until it stops again. My family is going to be seriously hurt in this vehicle and there doesn't seem to be any recourse.
Brand new. . . Owned less than a month. . . 750 miles. . . We live at the top of a very steep hill with a sharp curve at the bottom. I reversed out of my driveway onto the street and shifted the van into drive. I felt the car go into gear and I started rolling down the hill, as it's a steep incline you pick up speed quickly. As the van gained speed down the hill something felt "wrong" and I suddenly realized I wasn't in full control of the vehicle. With the sharp curve quickly approaching I stomped the brake and brought the van to a stop. I put the van in park at the bottom of the hill and tried understand what was going on. I put the van back in drive, felt it go into gear but when I tried to accelerate nothing happened. Put in it reverse, felt it go into gear and it started to go backwards a little herky jerky but when I pressed the accelerator nothing happened. I had to put it back in park, turn it off and then restart it before it I could drive it back up to my house. I took it to the dealership the next morning. Turns out it was the day after the dealer received notice of the recall. I was told my VIN number fell under the recall, my pcm needed new software and they couldn't do anything until Chrysler provided the fix which wasn't expected until April and they couldn't even sell the ones on the lot. Call Chrysler! I have called Chrysler almost everyday for the last 2 weeks and all I get is a "sorry but I can't do anything, waiting to hear from the regional supervisor". I live in atlanta and if that happened on I-285 (5-6 lanes) you would be roadkill! there is absolutely no way in hell you could stop the car, put it in park, stop the engine and then restart safely. At this point it's a $32k rolling death trap that Chrysler won't/can't deal with. . . 100% unsafe for my wife and 3 kids!.
I have owned this vehicle for almost two years with minimal issues. All of a sudden three days ago, I was driving on the freeway and the accelerator stopped working. The car did not shut off just kind of sputtered like it wanted to cut off. I had to maneuver my way to the side of the road. Eventually I ended up having it towed to my home. Now I am without a vehicle. I was told it could be the pcm, ecm or the transmission.
Vehicle shuts off unexpectedly, gas gauge suddenly drops to empty, vehicle will suddenly register invalid key fob. Vehicle has suddenly stopped on city street 5 times in pass 3 mos. Researched year, make and model, found there is a recall. Called dealership, they state my VIN number is not included in recall. I feel car is unsafe to drive. Can't afford repair to pcm, nor tcm. Would cost over 1,000 dollars at dealership. Car not repaired as of 7-24-2017.
Current mileage: 5560, my van is currently in shop for transmission related issues for the third time. The vehicle looses all the power all of a sudden in the middle of the road while driving. I have had this happen on four different occasions, couple times on highways and couple times on city streets, have to pull to a shoulder immediately (glad I could). Have to try 3 to 4 times to start the vehicle and sometimes even hard to durn the dial to get the van moving. On my first visit to the dealership they have mentions its tcm software issue, second visit they said it was tcm line issue, had to order parts and get it fixed, took 10 days. Now three weeks later have similar incidents happen and now the van is back in the shop, they said they have to order smoother part in regards to transmission and its on back order. I am worried about the safety of my family with this van, I have called the company and informed them about my concerns, I searched through the web to see if there are others experiencing the same issue and I have seen quite a few of them in the same boat. Seems like a known issue with this transmission. Not sure of the direction I need to go in this regards.
The contact owns a 2004 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that while driving at 10 mph, the accelerator pedal was being depressed however, the vehicle failed to respond. The contact also stated that there was a hard shift when the vehicle shifted between the gears. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the air intake needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however the failure recurred, intermittently. The contact also stated that on several occasions while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that the vehicle was jump started however, the vehicle would stall. The vehicle towed to the dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the tcm needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 160,000.
My car will unexpectedly stall out while driving thus creating a serious safety hazard. This has been happening intermittently for the past 8 months. I have had a local Chrysler dealership check and they think it's the pcm or fuel pump as had been reported in other model years. They reset the pcm but this did not repair the problem. Chrysler has recalled other models from 2004 and 2006 for this issue but will not aknowledge responsibility for the 2008 model. The car is currently being used in brussels, belgium as I am working for the department of defense there. I contacted the europe Chrysler customer care but the representative said she had no knowledge of any relevant recalls past or present. I have sent an email to them (copy to NHTSA) again requesting financial coverage for the necessary repairs and I await their response. What are my options now?.

My vehicle began stalling while being driven on the street and highways, when turning and while stopped for light changes. Had to have battery "jumped" or charged several times. Battery had to be replaced twice because of discharged from alternator. Had alternator replaced. Battery continued to drained. Vehicle ran for one day and completely shut down while in motion. After jump starting the battery, vehicle ran for a couple of minutes. Was told by service mechanics, battery or alternator problems even after having those parts replaced. Finally had the vehicle towed to dealership that specialized in Chryslers and was shock when he stated it was the pcm (powertrain control module) which I believed and researched was part a recall for 2005 Pacificas in 2006. Told by the dealership that the fuel pump was fixed which is not the problem of this vehicle. The pcm is the problem, and the dealership is not owning this. I did not purchase the vehicle until 2010; so I honestly believed that this problem was not repair but claimed to had been. When referencing the recall notification (which I did not receive personally), the fuel pump problem was replaced for 2004 models not 2005 models. Pcm problems were that of the 2005 models which was not repaired or replaced for this vehicle. I have had my vehicle towed approximately 7 times now. I am still paying insurance for a vehicle that is unable to be driven. The dealership wants to charge me $1000 for repair, that is a little less that half of what the vehicle is worth.
