The transmission slipped out of gear and wouldn't shift. The problem occurred while I was driving on the street. This comes after numerous rough shifts that I was told was a computer issue on the transmission.

While driving my 2017 Chrysler Pacifica at low speeds (10mph-20mph) it seams to shift out of gear and then slams back in startling everyone in the vehicle feeling like we were rear ended. We have had this vehicle back to the dealer multiple times for the software update. After the update it drives ok for a while then happens again. While operating this vehicle making a left turn into a lane with on coming traffic it occurred almost causing me to get into an accident.
Transmission shifting issue. Vehicle was at a complete stop. When acceleration from stop and making a right turn , the vehicle acted like it slipped out of gear and back into gear. This caused a violent motion in the car. This is a repeated issue with this van. We feel that this could lead to a bigger issues that could cause injury from an accident.
Transmission shifting issues. Vehicle was at a complete stop. Was accelerating from a stop and acted like it dropped out of gear and slammed back into gear violently. This has caused us to loose confidence and have safety concerns about our van.
I was at a complete stop with our van, and accelerated away from a stop sign. When the van reached about 36 mph, the van acted like it was going to shift and it dropped out of gear and back into gear making a clunking noise.
I was at a complete stop with our van, and accelerated away from a stop sign. When the van reached about 37 mph, the van acted like it was going to shift and it dropped out of gear and back into gear making a clunking noise.
Vehicle was at a complete stop. Accelerated vehicle from a stop while making a right hand turn onto a highway. Vehicle acted like it slipped out of gear and violently went back into gear. This happened at 12 mph.
Accelerating in the vehicle to highway speeds when the van acted like is slipped out of gear and went back into gear hard at 36 mph.
Vehicle was at a complete stop at a stop sign, took a right turn and the vehicle acted like it slipped out of gear, then shifted hard back into gear. This occurred at approximately 13 mph.
Transmission shifting issue. Vehicle was at a complete stop. When acceleration from stop and making a right turn , the vehicle acted like it slipped out of gear and back into gear. This caused a violent motion in the car. This is a repeated issue with this van. At times when I step on the gas to accelerate the transmission does not always engage properly and it slips causing a delay in taking off. I have had it back to the dealer for all upgrades or reprograms for this problem and yet the problem still persists.
The transmission slips out of gear between 1st and second gear momentarily before slamming back into 2nd gear. This is an ongoing issue. We have taken the vehicle into dealership multiple times and each time have been told that they can not recreate the problem or that the transmission is fine. The momentary loss of momentum is incredibly dangerous when turning into active traffic lanes. A cursory search of the internet will show that this problem is rampant and that Chrysler continues to fail to address the issue.

In January 2018, took the van in because of jerking motion shifting out of gears. Would go from first gear, skip second gear and then jerk hard into third gear, almost feeling like the van was going to stall. Chrysler dealership stated that Chrysler doesn't know how to fix the problem but doing an engine stall reset with the computer system in the car may fix it. That worked for about 2 weeks and the jerking motion started to happen again. Most times it was at speeds between 15-20 mph, but then it started to happen at speeds like at 40mph. Then yesterday, while driving on the highway, there was stop and go traffic, and as I was trying to accelerate, the car jerked so hard twice, I thought I was rear ended. The check engine light came on, and the car began to accelerate on its own. I tried to brake and at first was unable to. Finally the car slowed down, but the rpm's were reving at 4 while I was only going 25mph and then stalled. The car would not shift out of first gear, and would not go any faster than 25mph. I was able to get off the highway before being involved in a crash as it was rush hour traffic on the one of the most busiest highways in miami. So now my car is at the dealer and they are telling me that they are going to try to replace the valve body of the transmission, and if that still gives them problems, they will have to replace the whole transmission. This van is a year old!!! the service advisor said that they are just doing what chrylser is telling them to do to try and fix this problem. Very sad Chrysler. This is a huge safety issue and telling consumers that they don't know how to fix a problem that could be life threatening or they are going to "try" to fix it is unacceptable. Many of us that own vans have small children that are in them everyday and this is what we have to deal with. At this point, I want new manufacturer van.
2017 Pacifica continues after multiple attempts to repair to drop/slip out of gear while driving with no warning and then suddenly thrusts back into gear causing the entire car to jerk forward as though we have been hit from behind. These issues happen under 20mph and there is no way to control what is happening. Our necks are forced forward and the sudden shock of the movement forward is not possible to stop. The problem began in December of 2017 and after 4-5 visits to the service I still have no resolution 2 years later.
Accessed the interstate. Car slipped out of gear and started making a whining noise. Could not change speed so had to pull over to side of road and wait on tow. Had just done routine check/flush fluid. There were no noticeable trouble during diagnostic testing.
