37 Automatic Transmission Control Module problem of the 2005 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 11/12/2014

As I sat at a stop light waiting for it to turn green, the speedometer jumped up to 20 mph and the vehicle lunged forward. I almost rear ended the vehicle in front of me. The vehicles check engine light came on and had stated on since than. I had the code scanned and it came back as codes p0700 and p0740. I searched for the meaning of those codes and they pretty much said it was the tcm (transmission control module) which had been recalled on several Chrysler Pacifica's. I called the local dealer and they said that was not a recall on my VIN specific vehicle. I of course asked how it was not recalled on my vehicle when everything I have read says it was for all 2005-2006 Pacifica's. There have been other reports of this same incident happening with other Pacifica owners as well. I would like to have the tcm on my vehicle recalled and replaced just as thousands of others were. If I had been and closer to any of the vehicles in front of me the several times this has happened then I would have rear ended several people by now and none of the accidents would have been my fault. These incidents happen every time I am driving in town. It never lunes forward as far as I am aware, on the freeway. Please help me fix this problem before it does cause an accident.

51 Automatic Transmission Control Module problem of the 2006 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 10/03/2011

This last Friday, the 11/18/11, was the last incident where it finally stalls completely and I have to move out of traffic. For over a month now, the gas gauge has dropped to zero (when I know I have gas in there) so I have to keep up with that on the side, the electrical trip mileage gauge says gas cap, checked it, kind of jittery, where it would jerk and not accelerate on the road, until this last Friday when I turned a corner, and it just stalled. Started it up, and went down the road and as soon as I accelerated in oncoming traffic, it stalled again, pulled off the road towards oncoming traffic and sat for a moment, gentleman stopped to help me, and said it might be overheating, to turn my heater on and leave it running since I still had several miles to go to get home and everyone was gone at the house. So I turned it back on and heated it up and away I went, got about a mile and it stalled again, so I went on the shoulder and coasted for about another mile and started it up and coasted it again, 'til I got to our small town and started it up, went to take a corner, and it stalled on the corner, so I coasted a bit again, and started up, and went down about a mile, put into neutral (so not to use gas and accelerate) around the corner and went down about another mile, put into neutral again, took the corner, back into drive and down the road to the house, took another turn in neutral, and coasted into the drive way. I've noticed that there is a recall with 2006 Chrysler Pacifica for the fuel pump and control module with power train. . Read more...

52 Automatic Transmission Control Module problem of the 2007 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 09/26/2011

From one day to another, the engine light turned on, the oil light turned on, the esp bas light turned on, the car sign with the curved lines under it, and the awd sign and that's just to name a few. The car was also not reversing and the car was shifting really hard. Took it into the dealer, and they told my mechanic that it was the computer, but they weren't sure if that would even fix the problem because they are not sure if that is the problem. They said I would have to pay for everything and if that didn't fix it I would have to spend more money until they found the actual fix. And the best part is when the car was under warranty they had to reprogram the pcm. Power train:automatic transmission:control module (tcm, pcm). This car has always been kept in tip top shape with its regular maintenance, oil changes and etc. . . Do not know what to do at this point because under the advice of my mechanic, he says this car is way to new to be giving so many problems. All I know is that Chrysler will be hearing from my attorney, because for what I know this is not the first time Chrysler has had problems with their pcm,tcm which is the cars computer. Someone please help!!!! I can not drive this car anymore, I have a 2 year old daughter and I refuse to put her in a car that is going crazy!.

61 Automatic Transmission Control Module problem of the 2004 Chrysler Pacifica

Failure Date: 07/22/2010

My Pacifica just stopped running while I was on a busy intersection in my city. I lost all power brakes, steering, and power. I had my children in the vehicle at the time. I did manage to get the car into a parking lot, (my son and his friend pushed it from the road). The Pacifica would not respond to anything, and could not be jump started. My husband purchased a new battery to see if that would help, it did not. It was towed to an electrical service, that took two days to let me know that they could not help me. It than had to be towed to a dealer, which also took two days to diagnose. It came to the conclusion that I needed to replace the pcm. I found that the 2004 Pacifica had a recall on just that problem. I contacted Chrysler, and they are stating that my vehicle is not part of that recall. Not to mention that I have too many miles for the warranty. Also that I am the second owner, (I am actually the first owner, the car was a program vehicle that was driven by an executive of Chrysler). I asked why my car was not included, because this was the issue with my vehicle, she stated that there were more complaints with the same thing (vehicles with pcm replacement, not on the recall) within the last few months, and if anything transpired, that they would let me know by mail. This is not a maintenance issue, but a safety issue, that I had no warning or signs of before it happened. I am very concerned over this. How many owners need to experience this or even be severely injured before this problem is resolved? the case manager at Chrysler than stated that my case would be closed! I am very upset with this whole issue. I did not complain about the intermittent a/c, the power seats that rarely work, the back hatch that has a mind of it's own, or the gas gauge that does its own thing. But my children's safety was placed in jeopardy! it was stated that more complaints were coming in on this issue, are they going to wait for loss of life?.

I own a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica which was manufactured, according to my dealership on June 16, 2005. I had brought the car into the dealership 11/06 because of a seat belt problem and when I was there they told me there was a recall and that they were going to take care of it. Recall f-44. I had not had any problems with the fuel pump prior to that. This week my car stalled twice. Once when turning left, once when turning right. Car was able to start up again. I brought it to the dealership (Chrysler Jeep of white plains at 70 westchester Ave. , white plains, NY 10601 phone: 914-946-3544). They told me I needed 2 new fuel pumps and it would cost $1210 and it was not under warranty and there was no recall notice. I did my research and found the f-44 recall online which states a fuel pump problem. I have spent the last 2 days talking to the dealership (which has my car) and daimler-Chrysler regarding the problem. The headquarters first told me my pump problem was part of the recall and that the dealership had to replace the pumps free of charge. But when the dealership talked to them they told hq that they had been directed to change the fuel pumps only on certain 2005 Pacificas. Only on ones manufactured within a certain date. They said on my 2005 Pacifica they only had to reprogram the pcm. I, as a consumer, see it that one recall was made and it was made because of a fuel pump problem which would cause a car to stall. I am having those problems. The dealership is telling me that they were actually 2 recalls - one for the fuel pump and one to reprogram. I do not see it that way - there was only 1 recall and it was for the problems I am having. They are making me pay $1210+ for a problem that was the reason for the recall in the first place !!!!!.
