The side back doors do not work all of a sudden when you push the button on the vehicle frame inside of the van. This is on both sides of the van. They will only shut by pushing buttons on the outside door handles. Also, the windshield wipers will only work on high. There is no intermittent, low, or medium speed working.

I left the parking lot and started driving home at about 8:45pm on 3/31 and heard a really loud pop. It sounded like glass and I inspected the windows and panoramic sunroof. The panoramic sunroof glass has shattered on the 2nd row section and has a hole in it. The glass is still making noises like it's continuing to crack.

The windshield fogs up when it is raining. I will drive for about 30 minutes before it fogs up. Usually the cabin air is blowing through the vents and when the windshield begins to fog I turn on the defroster. It will only work if the heat is turned way up, and the blower is set at the highest setting. When I stop at a traffic light the defroster sounds like it is still blowing but the windows fog up until I cannot see out. I have used my hand to clear a spot in front of my face and I have had to pull over to the side of the road and wait for the windshield to clear. Yesterday all of the windows fogged up front and the sides. Also. I took it to the dealership yesterday and after a quick look was told that I just had to turn the heat up. That is not a solution in the summer. I have read about other Pacifica's having this same problem. It is terrifying and I don't want to drive when there is a chance of rain anymore. I did have this happen in the winter when it was snowing a few years ago once or twice.

On June 23, 2024 a NHTSA recall #24v-436 was posted indicating the rear visibility system defaults to the rearview image being visible. To date multiple dealerships and the Chrysler corporation contacted trying to get this issue remedied. No one seems to have an answer ass to when the update will occur. I contract with a car rental service, turo, to rent my personal vehicles. Because of this recall turo will not allow my vehicle to be rented until this issue is resolved. I have to continue making car payments and pay insurance on this vehicle without any income coming in to offset my costs.
The windshield wipers are not synced together causing them to contact each other to the point that the stuck together. As a result, the wipers are no longer functional, and the drivers vision is impaired which increases the likelihood of an accident.
Since January 2024, the rearview camera on my 2021 Chrysler Pacifica has functioned inconsistently. I brought the vehicle to glendale Chrysler Jeep Dodge ram for this problem, and they informed me it was a known issue with an open service bulletin for a software update, expected in q3-q4 2024. Despite this safety concern, I continued to drive the vehicle as no solution was available. Upon the release of the software update, I returned the vehicle, but the update did not resolve the issue. I was then told to await another software update. It is now June 2025, and there's another separate recall for this same issue, with a new software update that has also failed to address the safety problem. On July 25th, 2025, I contacted Chrysler because their branded service center is recommending $1,200 in parts and labor to fix an issue that was initially reported under warranty. I believe Chrysler is acting in bad faith and endangering the public by negligently addressing safety concerns and using protracted software updates as an excuse.
The electrical interface components stopped working spontaneously; the speedometer and rpm gauge dropped to zero, the windshield wipers turned on, and all of the "check engine" type warning lights lit up on the dash (check engine, seatbelt, airbag, battery, etc). The warning messages started popping up one after another on the dash, for example, "service trans stop safely shut off engine to engage park," "stop/start not ready due to outside temperature," "park brake temporarily unavailable" etc. I tried to put the car in park, but the round shift knob locked in neutral. I could not turn off the engine with the ignition button (keyless ignition). There was no way to turn off the engine without opening the hood and disconnecting something manually. Everything spontaneously went back to normal for about 15 minutes, then it happened again and has not gone back to normal since. The photos I am attaching were taken during the first incident, during the second incident, and in between the two incidents when the electrical was working again.

First of all, I would like to say that I received an "important safety recall" notice citing that "certain 2022 Chrysler Pacifica vehicles failed to perform" however, my car's problem, though similar, is not quite the same as the problem mentioned by the federal motor vehicle safety standard" - rear visibility. My car's drivers' side view mirror is the one that poses the problem. When I put the vehicle in reverse, the right-side view mirror adjusts so that I can see the right backside of the vehicle. This, unfortunately, does not occur with the left sideview mirror. I can only see the ground. This an obvious determent to the safety of not only myself, but others as well. When I reported this irregularity to hunter Dodge, I was told that was just the way the mechanism worked. I was told that there was nothing they could do. No one bothered to check it out. No one seemed concerned. This has been an issue since I purchased the vehicle. I don't know if anyone else has this same issue; but I feel that I am not the only one. This functionality necessary for the prevention of serious injury to pedestrians and/or property. Thank you, in advance for receiving this information.

The sunroof spontaneously shattered while driving down the road.
While driving down the interstate, the moonroof glass spontaneously shattered. There are three pieces of glass on the roof, and it was the center one that failed. The car was about 16 months old with just under 10,000 miles, almost all of which was low-speed, city driving. At the time of failure, we were about 650 miles into a cross-country road trip and traveling on roads with an 80 mph speed limit. If we had not closed the sunshade the day prior, sharp glass would have fallen on our children seated in the middle row. A Chrysler dealer sold us the replacement part and verified that there were no signs of any external cause that led to the failure. Chrysler denied a warranty claim, stating that "sunroof is most probably an outside influence as it cannot break easily as per irf (independent repair facility). ".
While driving on the interstate, it began to rain and proceeded to rain heavily. Initially started the wipers on intermittent low, then high, then low constant, and eventually high constant (highest setting). All of a sudden, drivers side wiper became un-synced, stuck under the path of the passenger side wiper and no longer able to clear drivers field of vision. I luckily made it on to the shoulder from the left lane and waited out the storm as I didn't feel safe getting out to inspect the situation, standing in front of my vehicle on the side of the road while visibility was reduced. Eventually made it onto an exit and proceeded to inspect what was going on, drivers side wiper was found to be loose, wiper arm retaining nut was loose and could be spun by finger. Unfortunately, no tools on hand and rain beginning to pour again, I adjusted the wiper arm to normal starting position and tightened it to the best of my ability in order to get home to properly tighten and secure the wiper arm. Seeing as this is only a 3 year old vehicle and intended to be used by families transporting loved ones, I would expect life/safety features to be performing impeccably. There is no excuse for why the wiper arm nut would come loose. I've found similar incidents reported online for this particular vehicle. Disaster was averted this time, please look into this issue and at the very least demand Chrysler inform their customers of this safety problem, it's an easy fix.

The drivers side sliding door window spontaneously shattered while driving. It was not hit by a rock or other object. This happened two times in three weeks to two separate windows.
The drivers side front door window spontaneously shattered while driving. It was not hit by a rock or other object. This happened again three weeks later to the drivers side rear door window that I will report in a separate incident.
My wife recently noticed that the garage door opener intermittently stopped working and then unfortunately she was driving in the rain and figured out the windshield wipers do not function anytime the garage door opener stops working. Fortunately no accidents, but safety hazard indeed. Taking to dealer tomorrow. I have a video but cannot get it to upload.
When I shifted into reverse to back out of a parking spot where I'd had the car turned off, the main infotainment screen went completely blue after briefly showing the usual backup camera and 360 view. It was about 23 degrees outside.
I was driving on the highway, and my lights all lit up, car stalled, and my dash board said no bus.

While driving on a highway during pouring rain, with wipers on high and head lights on, dash and touch screen went off/black for up to 15 minutes then turned back on again. This occurred three times while driving. I was unable to pull over on the thruway and was unable to assess if my head lights were affected as well. We had been driving about an hour when this occurred. The car had been charged fully before beginning our travels that day.
In June, my windshield cracked while stationary and was determined by Chrysler to be defective glass. This is covered under my warranty. It has been almost 4 months and it has not been replaced per the warranty. Chrysler claims the windshield is on a national back order with no estimated time of arrival. A cracked windshield is a safety hazard as it impedes my visibility. Chrysler has not offered any alternative options, only to wait. Customer service has been slow to respond and rude. Defective glass seems to be a common problem among Chrysler Pacificas, as well as an inability to fulfill the warranty. Please investigate.
As I was exiting the parking garage, the trunk opened up while the car was being driven. There was a loud noise from the liftgate and the rear windshield was shattered, plus the wiper system broke.
My vehicle windshield developed a crack coming from va hospital. Called insurance I have glass coverage. Travelers contacted safelight in marietta GA. I was informed that they contacted Chrysler and was told there are no windshields except for one in ohio. I have contacted paulding Chrysler and they were told the same thing. I have contacted Chrysler corp. Customer service twice nothing. I was told I have to wait till production is done June or July for a window. I was told by them to rent a car for 3-4 months [$3000-4000]out of my pocket. So I drive with a cracked window that I hope will not cause serious injury to my wife or me. I was told they have no parts for a recall from the government. So any busted window in the united states is at the mercy of Chrysler. I asked Chrysler to give a rental or take a window of another car. I have not heard anything.
While driving 40mph the hood flew open and smashed into the windshield, blocked my view while driving & nearly caused a fatal crash. This is the second time this has happened though the first time, it stayed latched just enough that the hood just vibrated & rattled giving me enough time to pull over on the highway, open it & slam it shut again. I'm now terrified to drive the car for fear it will happen again and cause serious injuries or a fatality. Chrysler should be forced to recall all their vehicles and replace the hood latch. My car was in mint condition and will now cost thousands to repair. There were no warnings lights or info displayed on the dash indicating the hood wasn't latched so no way of knowing there was a potential (serious) problem. It's shocking there's no sensor that tells you it's open/unlatched like there is when a door isn't closed properly.

On 8/25/18 I noticed a chip in my windshield near the passenger side edge, middle up and down. Within moments that chip turned into a crack and kept on growing until it finally stopped. It runs from mid-right edge to center of windshield then upwards toward left edge of rear-view mirror mount equipment. I immediately called my insurance company, which set me up with an appointment with safelite auto glass. I was scheduled for 8/30/18. On 8/29, safelite called and said that they couldn't get the glass. They would call me when they could. I contacted my selling car dealer, airpark cj, scottsdale, az. They put me in contact with arrowhead glass. Temp appointment of 9/5. Within a day, arrowhead called and said that the glass must be ordered from Chrysler and the glass was on national backorder and they could not set up a date. I contacted safelite, who had an appointment of 9/11 set up and said they did not hear about it. They also said glass must be ordered from Chrysler, because of the safety tech option, where sensors etc are in the glass. On 9/11 they called and said glass didn't come in and the next appointment for it is 10/2. I then called Chrysler corporate. I talked with someone who said they would create a case. On 9/17, I was contacted by my case manager, helen. She said she would try and expedite the claim. On 9/21, she texted me and said that the 10/2 was the best she could do. On 9/28 she texted and said it looks more like mid October. I called safelite and their dealer, earnhardt Dodge gilbert arizona. They said glass is still being shipped on 10/2 and hope to repair on 10/5. On 10/3, safelite called and said no and 11/5 is new date. I called helen at Chrysler and she said mid November now, but then corrected to a 11/5 shipment of windshield to the dealer. But no promises. It is technically illegal to drive. Will be over 2 months.

9/21/16 7 days after purchase 822 miles driven vehicle at rest in driveway displays service shifter and requires new shifter installed before driveable. 10/11/16 1717 miles driven vehicle will not start at rest. After 15 minutes it finally starts sounds like a lawnmower and vehicle shaking starts. 2/28/17 15428 miles driven vehicle in motion on I-80 traveling in heavy rain when windshield wipers freeze for several minutes. I had my children in the vehicle and we came 6 inches away from being hit by a semi as we tried to navigate to the side of the road with zero visibility. Car had to be restarted for wipers to engage. 3/1/17 15559 miles driven vehicle in motion crossing a street with 45 mph speed limit and vehicle dies leaving me stalled in the middle of traffic. Chrysler tows to local dealer and replaces 1 spark plug, 1 ignition coil, 6 gaskets according to service report. Vehicle continues to shake at idle. 9/8/17 30000 miles driven when I press accelerator from stopped position, vehicle does not move. I press harder and vehicle makes a clunk then surges from 0 to 53 mph and the brake is firm and I have trouble slowing down. Within 15 minutes while vehicle is in motion at 48 mph engine dies and vehicle stops blocking traffic both ways in an intersection where traffic travels at 45-50 mph. Message on dash says "shift to park" but brake is hard and shift knob will not turn to p. Using push button start I am able to restart the vehicle while in drive and proceed to dealer where the Chrysler service team tells me that I will have to continue driving the vehicle until it happens again because they cannot fix it unless they see it happen. This is the third time my life has been risked and they aren't fixing the issue. I have had 5 warranty replacements, over 50 days out of service and dozens of other failures. Service records too big to upload.

I wanted to bring to your attention a safety condition with certain years on the Chrysler Pacifica. Many of the Pacifica’s engine cradles are severely rusted; to the point of if a break occurs the engine will fall out of the vehicle. This issue is mainly on years 2004-2005. (I own a 2005 model with severe rusted engine cradle. ) the estimated cost of this repair is between $2,500 and $3,000. I have contacted Chrysler several times about this safety issue, the 1st time was Nov of 2013 with the most recent being 4/1/2014. Chrysler just says “we’re looking into it”. (ref case# 24293830) I have contacted the minnesota attorney general who sent a letter to Chrysler, but they declined coverage on my Pacifica. I have also filed a complaint with the national highway traffic safety administration. . Read more...
Car was parked/ spontanious fire/ inside totalled.
The windshield wipers and electrical systems failed during a mild rain. We got the vehicle to a Chrysler dealer and contracted for them to put it on the lift. We've learned that the main wiring harnesses on many 2004 Pacificas - such as ours - have collected water for years due to their design on the 2004 Pacifica, and have completely corroded. This substantially compromised our safety, as we exited the road having lost windshield wipers, all electrical, etc. , we attempted to use the horn which also was no longer working.
