1 Crankcase (pcv) problem of the 2001 Chrysler Sebring

Failure Date: 01/05/2008

The 2001 Chrysler Sebring with the 2. 7l engine burnt out. It has 55,000 miles on it. The first problem was with the oil light coming on. I took it to kasing Dodge in hermitage PA. And they said that it was a wire and fixed it for almost 200 dollars. A week later the engine made noise that sounded like it would explode. I had to towed to kading Dodge again and they said that the crankcase bearing broke from oil starvation. They said that it would be over 4000 dollars to put a new engine in. What they did instead was a fix of the broken bearing which cost me another 250 dollars and told me that may work for awhile but they would not guarantee that work. Well it did not work. Why did they only do same jobs that cost me money when they all know that Chrysler is having a possible class action lawsuit against them for this very engine?.

2 Crankcase (pcv) problem of the 2001 Chrysler Sebring

Failure Date: 10/24/2006

Driving on the highway at 55 mph, the engine stop without warning. After the engine stopped the temp indicator went on. Towed to dealership where I was informed that the water pump broke, coolants entered the crankcase and the engine was destroyed. The car had only 59,000 miles on it. Chrysler refused to help or repar. Quoted new engine price at $9500. Chryslers customer service is non existant.

3 Crankcase (pcv) problem of the 2001 Chrysler Sebring

Failure Date: 01/01/2005

After I received a tune up of my vehicle, it started a problem. After my car has been running for about 20 min, the engine starts to almost die out, then come back to life. This is w/o using ac or heat. However, if I use my a/c or heat, it becomes much worse. In both situations, w/or w/o ac & heat, the problem became so bad my car died out. The dealer doesn't know what's wrong with my car, and claimed it did not do this to them when they had it in their possession. I myself, have changed the air filter, got an oil change, changed my trans fluid, pcv valve, & put in fuel injector cleaner. The problem has not stopped. When I took my car to murrays auto parts, they did a diagnostic test, giving it the code p1391 misfire code. I called the dealer to find out this code, nobody had any idea what it meant. Every time I have spoken with the dealer, they deny they had anything to do with it, and put me off like I don't know what im talking about. I just want my car fixed.

4 Crankcase (pcv) problem of the 2004 Chrysler Sebring

Failure Date: 05/14/2004

Follow up to odi #10064593. Vehicle continues to accelerate unexpectedly while sitting at a stop. Has also stalled on three occasions and idles rough. It has been to two (2) dealerships 8 times. Tcp sensor, ad solenoid, map sensor and pcv valve all been replaced. Service bulletin #18-041-03 has been ran twice. The vehicle has almost hit two cars, one motorcycle, one concrete piling and two buildings. The only thing that has kept me from hitting anything is the fact that I always have my foot on the brake. Why won't Chrysler or the NHTSA begin an investigation? I have found over a dozen complaints regarding Chrysler/Jeep vehicles with the same dangerous malfunction. I love my car, but I am afraid someone is going to get hurt.

5 Crankcase (pcv) problem of the 1996 Chrysler Sebring

Failure Date: 04/06/1999

Car won't run or idle at low speed or at a stop in gear. Replaced cap, rotor, plugs, no change. Dealer troubleshot for seven hours and replaced the ais motor and cleaned heavy carbon out of the intake. Dealer told us to drive the car around to allow the cleaner to remove the carbon in the intake. Extremely dangerous task. The car's performance has not improved. Dealer suggests replacement of the pcv valve. Remedy seems suspect.
