I purchased a 2007 Chrysler Sebring in November of 2007. On the way home I encountered issues with the heating and defrosting system and subsequently received a recall on this issue. Several months after the purchase of the vehicle I began to experience problems with the engine stalling upon coming to a normal stop or sudden stop with the engine stalling without notice. I have taken the car to the dealer numerous times and they continually tell me they can not find anything wrong with the car and the computer indicates no faults or error codes. The stalling has occurred at least 20-30 times since I purchased the vehicle. This Tuesday the 19th of October, it stalled yet again and had to be towed off the freeway on a rainy day during rush hours. I took the car back to the dealer that day and again they checked it and said nothing registered on the computer. I advised them of the obvious safety hazard with the car stalling and they agree but still indicate there is nothing they can do because nothing registers on the computer and they are not able to duplicate the problem. I do not feel safe driving this car nor allowing my daughter to drive it, it stalled on her on the freeway, and the Chrysler dealer I have been taking it to does not appear to be interested in doing much about it even to a point about making it difficult to obtain a rental while the car is in service. I have also contacted Chrysler and they have given me a case number to investigate the issue.
I purchased my Sebring in may of 2007 & the rear window defogger contact keeps breaking off from the window and therefore doesn't heat the rear window for ice removal. I don't remember exactly when the first time it happened was but it was within the first year of purchase. It has been repaired 3 times by either solder or glue. This was covered under warranty. On the 3rd repair my rear window shattered on 12/24/10 (I might add it was snowing!). I contacted my insurance company & was advised to bring the car to a car repair facility (who my insurance company deals with) who specialized in the repairing of convertible tops. A new rear window was ordered & the replaced. Again! the contact has broken off from the window & again! I am left without a working rear window defogger! I find this to be a somewhat dangerous situation as convertible tops lack a full rear view & having no way of defogging my rear window leaves me at a disadvantage. The problem to me, seems to be that the electrical wiring from contact to window is too short & therefore breaks from the contact. I don't know if any other Sebring conv. Owners have this problem as I have not seen this on any problem reports but I can tell you this is very frustrating & I would love the Chrysler company to correct this problem. I don't feel I should go through my insurance company for the replacement of a new rear window as this is an inconvenience.

I purchased a used Chrysler, 2004, Sebring gtc convertible just this weekend. On the way home , I live some distance from the dealer, I noticed that the blower motor only operated in high speed. Upon returning home the first thing I did was log on to the internet, and discovered that many owners had this problem with all makes of Sebring from 2001 to 2006. I read the technical service bulletin (TSB )for the problem, and contacted Chrysler customer service. They admitted there was a problem, but won't discuss the matter that it was defective, nor was it covered. In fact, I was informed that even if the car was brand new that Chrysler has not offered to reimburse costs or to repair this problem for the owner. The service representative raised his voice and challenged me, when I calmly informed him I would be in touch with company officials and with my state's attorney general, so that since there was a known problem with this system, but no recall. He could enforce the lemon law on this make and model for future automobile consumers. The customer service representative was rude, and very impolite---almost threatening. Also, despite my documentation, including a receipt for payment and contract, Chrysler denied the extended warranty on my vehicle.

The contact owns a 2004 Chrysler Sebring. Whenever she puts the convertible top down, the rear defroster does not work. She took the vehicle twice to two different dealerships to have it repaired on eight different occasions. The technician admitted that it was a manufacturing defect and repaired it free of charge. She contacted the manufacturer numerous times, but was not provided with assistance. The defroster was currently inoperative and no dealers in her area would assist her. The current mileage was approximately 105,600. The failure mileage was approximately 5,667.
Design defect - rear window defogger -
the original equipment rear window defogger on my 1997 Chrysler Sebring stopped working. The wire attaching the defogger to the electrical system has become detached. It had been reattached by the dealer twice, but on the third occasion the dealer advised that it could not be fixed. It is apparently reattached with some kind of glue. I was advised that if I wanted to get the defogger to work I would need to install a new rear window at a cost of over $800. The new Sebring convertible;e uses a wire with a plug to attach the rear window defogger to the vehicle's electrical system. Chrysler appears to have recognized the design defect and provided a fix, although not to owners of 1997 Sebring convertibles. Note: this design defect appears to be a safety defect that causes a dangerous condition when the defogger fails, I. E. , in rainy or snowy conditions the visibility out of the rear window is dangerously reduced.

While driving, when consumer put the vehicles defroster on, the back windshield glass exploded. There were no injuries, cause the back seat was not occupied at the time. The dealership stated that they should of been told at time of purchase that "the defroster should not be used in cold weather, cause the glass will exploded". Please provide more details. Ts.
