1 Wiper problem of the 2007 Chrysler Sebring

Failure Date: 05/04/2025

I've had to replace the battery in this 3 times. Alternator 1. And throttle body position sensor twice. And now it's all starting to act up again. Car stalls, no reason, all dashboard warning lights flash and it stalls. No dashboard lights at night. Occasionally they flicker. Windshield wipers either won't work or won't shut off. Front windows are unusable, the track broke and back windows don't have power to make them work. Airbag and abs lights always flashing on dash and warning bell goes off all the time. Now my high beam wires have completely crumbled and radio takes 5-10 minutes to come on. Obviously a major electrical issue. I've lost my job thanks to the "reliability" of this money pit. Owned 3 years, problems began then. Today all lights are flashing, the air starts blowing high, wipers go on. I stop at light and it shuts off. Had to push off busy road. Waited half hour and it started, but now check engine, air bag, throttle body and seat belt lights all on. Very slowly, with many breaks, drive home & car smells like burning rubber. Visually can't find source. All fuses are good, and brand new battery last week.

3 Wiper problem of the 2008 Chrysler Sebring

Failure Date: 12/05/2019

3 seperate but related events. My horn began honking at random times, eventually I could not turn it off while in my parking garage at work. Ended up removing battery connection to stop the honking. When I arrived home I disconnected the horns. My wipers randomly do not work. I've had to rely on rainx. Sometimes they work and other times I cant turn them off. They sometimes stop in the middle of the window. Last issue was complete loss of power while driving at 70mph. Luckily I was able to pull over. Strange thing was it started right back up. But 10 miles later the same thing happened. Based on these 3 things happening within the last month I think it is part of the tipm module. Many complaints and this item is part of a class action law suit and a voluntary recall for other Chrysler vehicle in the same year range as my vehicle.

5 Wiper problem of the 2008 Chrysler Sebring

Failure Date: 04/29/2018

I bought this vehicle as is in February of this year. The convertible top gets stuck in the up position and doesn't go back down. I cannot see otu of the rear view and obviously cannot operate the vehicle safely. I contacted a dealership and Chrysler and both told me the recall had been addressed in 2008 (they llooked it up by VIN). However, it obviously wasn't since the top is still sticking. They basically told me too bad. However, they were unable to tell me which dealership had marked it as a completed and repaired recall which is strange. I would like it fixed ASAP since I cannot operate the vehicle without being able to see out the rear windshield! it was in a parking lot when this happened.

6 Wiper problem of the 2010 Chrysler Sebring

Failure Date: 08/08/2016

The check engine light came on Aug 2016. Garage says it needs a new integrated control module, told them to order one, they said it will take several months because 100's are on back order, they said to go ahead and drive the car. The windshield wipers are not working now (June 2017) and the garage says it is because of the integrated control module. The module is still on back order and we are number 450 or such. This seems to be a common problem the the Sebring (now Chrysler 200). We wonder what will go wrong next, will the engine die or worse maybe it will speed out of control.

7 Wiper problem of the 2006 Chrysler Sebring

Failure Date: 11/11/2015

Rear defroster clip keeps falling off rear window. Chrysler won't touch it, refers to window repair, they won't touch it because evidently they are hard to repair properly. Not being able to defrost rear window in sub freezing weather is not safe.

8 Wiper problem of the 2010 Chrysler Sebring

Failure Date: 06/08/2015

While driving to work, my Chrysler seabrings windshield wipers started moving on their own. At first it was maybe once . After a couple of days they stopped working completely. Not having working windshield wipers in florida is dangerous because it pretty much rains every day. I took my car to a local Chrysler dealership and now I am being charged $1100 a switch and a tipm. I had no idea what a tipm was so I looked it up on the internet. Seems Chrysler has a defective part on almost all of their vehicles which control all electrical devices. This situation is so unfair. These tipm parts should be replaced free of charge.

10 Wiper problem of the 2008 Chrysler Sebring

Failure Date: 12/04/2014

My windshield wipers just decide when they want to stop leaving me with zero visibility during a rainy commute.

11 Wiper problem of the 2010 Chrysler Sebring

Failure Date: 08/06/2014

Wipers have a mind of their own. Sometimes they just quit working during a rain storm and other times they change speed on their own and other times they stop right in your field of vision during a rain storm. You can sometimes get them working again by pulling off the road if you can do safely and shut the car off and restart it and things go back to normal. I had a mechanic look at it and there is nothing wrong mechanically wrong with the wiper motor or linkage. The problem is with the intergrated body computer that controls the wiper system. I told my Chrysler dealership about it and they said that there wasn't a recall about it yet and that yes it is the computer that is the problem and other people are having the same problem. This is a serious safety problem that needs fixed before there are fatal accidents.

12 Wiper problem of the 2007 Chrysler Sebring

Failure Date: 01/01/2014

Rear window is full of dots about 1 1/2 to 2 inches in diameter. Looks like a default in the glass or the tint. We have tried washing both inside and out side of the window but it has no effect. This started about 3 years ago and has just been getting worst. It is so bad now you can not see out the back window using the rear view mirror.

13 Wiper problem of the 2008 Chrysler Sebring

Failure Date: 11/30/2013

The windshield wipers started stuttering then stopped completely. When I move the control arm they will move a little at a time, then start to go really fast. I had to leave them on the fast mode or else I would not been able to drive the car. It was pouring out. Thankfully I got to work with no issues. I have replaced the wiper motor and the control arm to no avail, the dealer put in a new wiper kit to no avail. Now I need a new tipm module. !.

14 Wiper problem of the 2002 Chrysler Sebring

Failure Date: 10/16/2013

I have a 2002 Sebring limited convertible that he had purchased in August 2012 with at the time just over 64k on the digital clock. It now has just over 71k on it. A few months before this I had an electrical issue that looked like a burned wire somewhere and a puff of smoke under the drivers side engine compartment. I tightened up the loose remote ground on the strut tower and everything was fine. A few weeks late I turned the car off and restarted and it was fine. Well about 2 weeks ago I went down to the doctors office and back and armed the security system like normal. Later I happened to look in the car and the security light was not flashing. I open the door and there is no miles on odometer, no dash response from the gauges, warning lights except for the e-brake light and oil pressure light. Also no horn, wipers, dome lights, trunk release, power door locks/keyless entry, ac, rear defroster, dash lights, warning lights, the trip computer indicates the compass heading but nothing else, no power top or heated seats either. Now, here's what's working. The car starts and seems to drive as normal, I have as I said the e-brake light and the oil pressure light on the dash, the power windows, outside lights, turn signals and hazards, reverse lights, radio/amp, power mirrors. The transmission indicator on the dash. I basically now own a 2500lb paperweight.

15 Wiper problem of the 2008 Chrysler Sebring

Failure Date: 08/10/2013

Purchased vehicle used in August 2015, owner told us the wipers did not work but he had the motor and we installed the wiper motor. This did not work. So we researched this vechicle for recalls and we found that Chrysler has had a problem with this tipm part but was not being responsible for a recall. This part cost us $650. 00 and the wipers now do work but there is a noise that is still there and some of the caution lights do not go out. The car works but do not go that far in it due to the reviews we had read about this tipm part and the engine may stop working.

16 Wiper problem of the 2010 Chrysler Sebring

Failure Date: 12/13/2011

The contact owns a 2010 Chrysler Sebring convertible. The contact stated that when accessing the driver or passenger interior or exterior doors, the window glass would release either upward or downward within an inch or less. In cold weather temperatures the interior doors would not close securely due to the window glass extending inches beyond the edge of the roof and required the occupant to manually hold the door when the vehicle was in operation. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer six times for the problem. There were several unknown repairs performed to the vehicle but to no avail. The dealer informed the contact that the failure was a manufacturer's defect and there was not a remedy available that would correct the problem. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 8,000.

17 Wiper problem of the 2006 Chrysler Sebring

Failure Date: 06/15/2009

There has been a film on the windshield ever since I bought this car. I have tried to clean it with several things advised and even took it to a place that cleans vehicles in our area, but no matter what, the film is still there. I have bought at least 3 new, different types of windshield wipers. There is a spot here and there on the windshield where you will have clear vision but it is not where it is needed. I have tried cleaning the blades also because of build up and the squeak is awful. This car has been the biggest disappointment and lemon that I have ever bought.

18 Wiper problem of the 2007 Chrysler Sebring

Failure Date: 04/09/2008

I bought my 2007 Chrysler Sebring brand new April 2007. After about a year (or less) and well under 20,000 miles the gas cap light would not go off, windshield wipers went off sporadically even in the "off" position, got stuck in park, fuel tank had to be replaced (which went out while I was driving), air bag light won't go off, etc. Had all these problems fixed only to have many of them recur. They were all fixed under warranty. Now after 36,000 miles and no warranty, the problems I have now are the windshield wipers still won't go off, my electric windows sometimes won't work at all (driver's side specifically), air bag light won't go off but occasionally when driver's seat is moved backward and forward but always returns, car will stall at times when pressing the gas pedal while driving. After the windshield wipers began going off again, took it to Chrysler dealership in my town. . . They contacted Chrysler to see if they would replace it again and they refused. All the recalls I read about that appear to pertain to my vehicle, Chrysler says my VIN is not a part of the recall (even though it's happening to my car too)! I will never buy another Chrysler vehicle for myself, or anyone in my family again! problems with this car started early and never went away.

19 Wiper problem of the 2007 Chrysler Sebring

Failure Date: 01/16/2008

The wipers will come on at any time. Very startling when car is moving. This has happened ar least 75 times since we bought it in 2008. Our mechanic (who is reputable and does quality work) has been unsucessful several times trying to pin point the problem.
