Frequently when the vehicle is being driven at low speed, less than 30 and you are making a turn the air bag light will illuminate. Normally it will go back off in less than 20 seconds. I was advised there is a clock spring in the steering wheel that on town and countrys from other years was a recall item. In searching my problem I have found other reported incidences of this issue for this model year. It should be a recall item as is a manufacturer defect and a a safety issue. Cost to fix is approximately $400. 00. This issue has gone on for several years an appears to be happening more frequently.

12 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 04/22/2013

My air bag light keeps coming on, I do not know if they are functioning correctly. I found a recall #07v192000 that appeared to address my problem but Chrysler says that my VIN # is not covered. I also found recall #10v008000 which also addresses this problem but my vehicle was not manufactured during the dates of this one. Obviously Chrysler knows this is an issue on vehicles manufactured during the same time as mine but they have excluded certain vehicles manufactured during this time frame that have this same issue, like mine.

13 Air Bag Light On problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2013

We turned on the truck and noticed the air bag light was flickering and as I was driving came on and off; and before we finished our trip the light stayed on. Another symptom that we noticed before this happened, was the dashboard needles went all the way to the opposite side but came back to normal position. I called Chrysler at 1800 853-1403 to find out information on any air bag recalls, however I was told the recall was serviced on November 15,2007 and they did not provide me with confirmation number and believe this problem was not fixed properly or was not fixed at all.

14 Air Bag Light On problem

Air bag light turns on when I turn on the van, and it doesn't go off until I turn off the van. I see there was a recall in 2010 for this where the crash sensor cracks in cold weather and moisture gets into the sensor, causing the airbag light to go on and stay on, and also causing the airbags to not inflate when needed. Chrysler says my van isn't on the recall list.

We have previously had trouble with the 'seat belt light' coming on the dash. The seat belt retainer was suposedly replaced by pettyjohn in bethany, mo. Sometime I think in early 2007. Air bag light stays on the dash continually, now days. Summer of 2010 I contacted Chrysler. They told me to have my local dealer ( barnes baker , trenton, mo. Run some dianostic tests, which I would have to pay for. . I did have them run but Chrysler waved they charge. The 'airbag light' was turned off , I believe by tecnician running daignostics. The 'air bag' light stayed out for a short while after the diagnostics was run. The Chrysler representative told me by phone that Chrysler was not going to pay for the repairs. For quite sometime afterwards the 'airbag light' was intermittant, now since winter of 2010/2011 it stays on continually.

I was involved in an accident in November last year. Upon repairing the van, an inspection was done on the front airbag sensors, and it was told to me that they were in working order. I believe that to be a lie. Everytime my wife moves in the front passenger seat, the passenger airbag light in the center panel comes on. This light usually will stay on for approx a couple minutes at a time. A gentleman from the safety department had contacted me and told me they were investigating the failure of the front airbag sensors. He had asked for pictures, which at that time I did not have. I have pictures that I have found which I can send you upon request.

The dealer is saying they are unable to repair the car because they can not duplicate the problem or get code readings from their computers. My vehicle's passenger air bag light keeps coming on also.
